Honestly it was a much easier win than I expected. Outsiders just demolished Heroic by 2-0. It isn't only a demolition by this score in fact. It is the same when it comes to map scores also. 16-12 on Mirage and 16-5 on Overpass were really huge wins.
Yup, the first half of both maps kind of decided the outcome tbh, Outsiders looked like they were in control in both maps, and then heading into the second half it was just a matter of time until they can get to 16.

I feel dumb for taking Heroic but that's just how it is sometimes. Still happy with how many bonuses I got from the tournament though.  Tongue

However Jame has been chosen for the MVP prize of the whole Major. I think that this is a deserved prize because his AWP skills were really impressive to watch.
Same here, well-deserved for Jame, and the AWP clutches were just insane from him throughout the tournament.

That was a great show from Outsiders. This is why I'm not trusting enough of Heroic when they won against FURIA. They have their moments, but somehow they're not stable enough to win consistently. Congrats to Outsiders who literally outgunned, outmaneuvered, and outclassed Heroic in just 2 maps. You can tell that these guys grind so hard because of how smooth everything is in their execution and their retakes. 16-5 in OVP is really depressing for Heroic, considering that that map is heavily CT sided, and they didn't make something great out of it.

Overpass was even picked by Heroic but they were really embarrassed by a solid performance by Outsiders. FL1T is very close to be chosen for the top player of the final series. His performance was really wonderful - 23 kills on Mirage, 29 kills on Overpass.

IEM RIO MAJOR has now concluded.

Congratulations to OUTSIDERS for bagging the IEM RIO Major 2022.

They should great mechanical skills and complete understanding of the game. They put Heroic into a clinic as they overpowered them in both maps Mirage and Overpass.

In Mirage, Heroic was still able to give a good fight but in Overpass, they are totally overwhelmed by Outsiders. Jame is extra great in the finals. He is a monster.

The grand final has finally started.

The maps are Mirage (picked by Outsiders), Overpass (picked by Heroic) and Inferno. We have left the first half on Mirage behind. Outsiders are 8-7 ahead now. Actually both teams are strong on all maps. So every map is open for a surprise. As for my favourite, I also believe it was worth betting on Outsiders at an odd over 2.00. It was worth a try because there is a huge development in Outsiders' performance for a long time. I can say the same thing for Heroic as well. But Outsiders have a big potential to win despite being the underdog.

That loss from FURIA reminded me of Cloud9's series, from another potential 2-0 but the momentum from Heroic suddenly kicks in during OT then it just kept on going heading into Nuke.

After watching both series today, it's tough to pick a team to win the grand finals when both of them showed a dominant T side in the decider map. Outsiders @2.00 would be the value bet but I want to take Heroic @1.7 after their grueling series against FURIA.

Heroic really stepping up whenever they are in the backfoot. Only a handful of people surely supported and expected them to overcome FURIA seeing how the latter showed dominant performance (and being the crowd favorite) for this tournament. Never knew they can muster everything they have and performed like they did on that series.

Outsiders is a value bet, but Heroic is just on fire right now to not take up that 1.7 IMO.

They won against Navi which is arguably one of the best team around then somehow lost to Heroic. Well yeah Heroic is a pretty decent team as well but if they could beat Navi up then they would have won that game though. I had my hopes up when they won the 1st map then they could have won the 2nd map as well but shit happens then somehow 3rd one was pretty miserable though

I want to take Heroic @1.7 after their grueling series against FURIA.

Same thought right there.

That was surprising. I thought Furia already had it in the bag. I was not able to finish watching the game, but Furia was in the lead, so I thought they already got the slot for the finals. But I checked now, and I see Heroic won the second map and third. This might have disappointed the crowd, but I guess they will support heroic on the finals. They cheered for Heroic on their match against team Spirit. I guess the crowd will support them again against the Outsiders.

But for the finals, I will bet on Outsiders to win the game. They are more strategic in every map they play. Heroic is favorite @1.67 while Outsiders is @2.12. I like the odds of Outsiders.

There is a show match being played right now before the Major finale by the way.

It is Brazil vs Sweden. The lineups are:

Brazil : fer - TACO - coldzera - FalleN - fnx
Sweden : f0rest - olofmeister - karrigan - GeT_RiGhT - friberg

As far as I can see there is no option to bet on this match now. This has made me a little sad because it'd have been fun. It is BO1 and the map is Train. I must admit that I've really missed this map since it was removed from the map pool in tournaments. I've always wondered why they removed it also. I knew that Cache was removed due to fps problems. But if I'm not wrong there wasn't such thing on Train. Anyway I'm favouring Brazil for the win and they are already 3-0 ahead.

Outsiders has locked in a slot for the finals. They have beaten Mouz after 3 maps. I thought they would take it in just 2 maps, but Mouz was able to come back on Overpass and forced a third map. But their effort was not enough because Outsiders dominated them in Inferno. Outsiders are very intelligent players and their tactics worked very well against Mouz.

Furia is currently leading in the first map against Heroic. And as usual, the crowd is going wild chanting for Furia. The crowd is really powering Furia and as usual Kscerato is performing very well again in front of his countrymen.

My only sensible take for the Furia phenomena is to bet 3 maps because Heroic can surely put up enough resistance for that as can Furia and I think whoever wins does not do so easily.
I'll keep the game on in mobile and hop in for a Furia bet if they lose map like what happened with vs Navi but so far both teams are being competitive imo.

That is a logical bet. I also think Heroic can take this to a third map.

Well...I've said that RIO crowd will push Furia towards the finals and so far they are doing it but Kaserato is on a god tier level right now and I cannot see him missing his shots in the semi-finals today against Heroic.
Kscerato is really one of the best players that I've seen.

Well, the recent match of Furia and NaVi isn't all about NaVi against Furia. But it was NaVi versus the entire crowd or let's say that it was against the entirety of Brazil. Tongue

It's really hard to go against with a crowd and you don't have a sound proof room. The stage was open and those crowd cheers were disturbing and pressuring Navi.

Exactly. I get that the fans are looking to root for their brothers, but man that is just not a good thing to distract the enemy team just because you are siding your countrymen. Hopefully these events in the future will have a soundproof room, or at least a room wherein the sound is significantly reduced so that the players will not get distracted by any chance. It's a bad thing that this could have been easily a great match wherein both teams will be giving their all, but the audience is just not in favor of Navi and are obviously giving sound cues to Furia which, in return, helps them significantly.
Well, that normally happens in most host countries.

It can be helped and the visitors, even they're the best team. They can get easily distracted that will result to their standing and performances.

That's why whoever controls the crowd even if they're running short, they still have a high chance to win and thanks to the fans and countrymen out there to cheer for their home team.

It can be prevented if the stage that they're playing on has some soundproofing into it. You notice that even the English casters can hear what the local casters are shouting, especially the crowd given how aggressive the noise cancellation of these professional casters have on their mic. Then again, who can beat the "home court advantage" anyway? It boosts the morale of the players, which arguably makes them perform a lot better and with the sound cues and all that, it makes the home team extremely easy.

Furia swinging that win is kinda incredible, when they lost the first map but just barely I put on a bet at 4.5x odds for them to win.  I take no credit, I was just hedging my other bet for Navi but at those odds despite being wrong elsewhere I broke even but they surprised many people there.   Partly its down to Navi not quite being 100% understandably and also Furia outperforming on home turf.

Outsiders to take this win I think is a fair bet

I dont think thats the case though. Pretty sure that Navi's teams were using all that top end headphone so it should be soundproof with all those in game sounds as well. The pressure is abit different for sure but they are people that are paid to play those game and its just part of their joib so its pretty similar to how football players are playing in an away game

Took this because I know Furia is going to win another round today

It was a huge character that was put by FURIA into the series. Although they were 1-0 behind on the maps they didn't give up and fought back hard against NaVi. This ambition and the support of the fans helped them make an epic comeback in the series and eliminate NaVi by 2-1 at the end. s1mple was showing off a lot at first but he was really devastated after this result.

On Mirage which was the last map, FURIA did an amazing work after the score came to 10-10. They won 6 rounds in a row and destroyed NaVi. NaVi players were really desperate to defend them on CT side. In one round, they killed all of FURIA players but couldn't defuse the bomb because of not buying even one kit.  Grin  There were amazing clutches by FURIA during the map also. It must be incredibly awesome for the supporters to have a team of their nationality in the semi finals now in a Major tournament which is also in Brazil.  Smiley

Well...I've said that RIO crowd will push Furia towards the finals and so far they are doing it but Kaserato is on a god tier level right now and I cannot see him missing his shots in the semi-finals today against Heroic. Furthermore , there is a small revenge here for Brasil as Heroic is a german team and if you watch the twitch chat , whenever a team has 7-1 the entire chat will start typing "Br71L". With this being said , Furia will reach the finals. Grin

And they did. A few times now that I saw Furia almost losing the game and they were able to comeback and win because of the encouragement of the crowd. I am now thinking they could win Rio Major because of the support of the crowd. Maybe Kscerato is so good because he is playing in a Brazillian crowd and he is so motivated because of the crowd.

Outsiders vs Mouz later with Outsiders being the favorite @ 1.62. Though Outsiders is the favorite, I am betting on Mousesports this time. They are solid this major and I think they will be playing in the finals.

Heroic will be going against the crowd favorite, Furia this time. Will Heroic continue their epic journey and go to the finals or will Furia power through the finals? Both have good momentum beating Top teams going to the semi-finals. I am not going to bet on this one because I cannot really tell which team is better. They even have an equal odds on stake @ 1.87. Maybe just go with over 2.5 maps since this match will go the distance.
