Some of them probably turned it down because they got invited to the Snow Ruyi tournament first, and it's scheduled to start around the same week as Elite League.

Oh yeah I didnt notice this one. I thought this is just some low tier tournament due to its name but still $500k prizepool compared to $800k+$200k prizepool seems like an easy choice. Atleast I know what I will be watching though, I'll be watching Snow Ruyi Tournament

Kuroky finally decided to step down ! this is huge. V-Tune from NaVi supposed to be standing in for pos 1 position but due to visa issue, he was replaced but yeah its still awesome to finally see Kuroky stepping down

Thank you for the information. Honestly, at the end of this, I'm just trying to understand a few names and watch the game before deciding to bet on CS2.

so good luck to me and all of our friends here that are about to bet too.
Good betting choice guys. I have to praise you that you are a bettor who always has a positive mind when it comes to choosing high odds such as the Heroic vs Cuyes eSports match.
They're both from South America, I know that Heroic is stronger and has got more experience. But I guess that it's not that bad to try Cuyes eSports with that 7.00 on the book and probably I've watched some of those players games in the past and I'm quite impressed.

TBH, I actually saw several foreign teams that I had never seen before and some of my bet were just as a reference for the next match. Good luck.

Good luck with your specialty bets len, I hope we win with map 1 for OG for total kills. Yeah, many of those teams are not that known but it's always good to explore with new team names. However, I've followed some of them in tier 2-3 tournaments.

We're back in action for Dota 2 in Lima for the Elite League Season 2. Here are my bets for first four matches of the day, there will other matches to be followed but I am not yet sure if I'll follow up some bets there.

First game with OG and Apex Genesis don't have that good odds so, I'd go with the total kills for the map 1.
The rest of my bets are with match winners and all of the matches on this swiss stage are all best of 3 series'. These matches are like testing the waters still, so good luck to me and all of our friends here that are about to bet too.

Matches are going to start in 5 hours from now.

I just noticed that alot of top teams were missing on this tournament. At first I thought they probably want to take a break on a small tier tournament but this is a $1M prizepool tournament. This is also probably going to be the last top tier tournament before TI though

I could totally understand if team like GG would skip this out especially after they win Riyadh Master but even Team Liquid as the runner up will be playing in this tournament so I dont really understand why most team skip this out

I remember Team Liquid has the best outright odds to win the Elite League around 2.10 which is crazy. Then again it makes sense to redeem themselves after their heartbreaking loss against Gaimin Gladiators in the finals of the Riyadh Masters.

I just saw the news about Cloud 9 has came back to Dota 2 and they've taken the roster of Entity. I guess there's a huge buy out from them, Entity organization made money a lot from this roster.
News: Cloud9 signs Entity Gaming's Dota 2 roster

You forgot to mention the most important part which is BC.Game is part of the Cloud9 partnership which is one of the casino with ANN thread and Signature campaign here.
Yeah, thanks. Most of the teams nowadays have their own casino sponsors that are supporting them. And that's actually good for those teams to sustain their organization and operations to retain their players but this is a common move. When TI is coming and a qualified team is already there, some orgs might just buy out the team name and a rebranding is normal before the tournament happens as long as the original roster is maintained, Valve allows this.

Cloud9 is one the old team I keep watching when I’m still new on Dota2 way back when Chinese Dota is still strong that can compete against western teams in the TI. But way back then, I don’t see Cloud9 being on the top spot (Correct me if I’m wrong).
There were some notable era from Cloud9 and one of the most known of it was during EE-sama's stay there. He's the meme of the dota 2 professional scene, sometimes plays well, sometimes don't. Oh, I just missed him as he's already retired.

It’s a great move to acquire Entity line-up since they have a potential to scale up like Team Spirit.
They're still a young team though but true, they have the potential.

There's also Arteezy moving away from the competitive scene and Shopify Rebellion got Pakasz as their new carry with Saberlight subbing in for MC for the Elite League. Now i'm a bit looking forward to how their roster will perform with a different carry.

Anyway, I really like their prizepool format though. $800k as competition prizepool and another $200k divided between teams with proportion for their team's viewership so basically its guaranteed alot of money for top tier teams

This is not what I expected from Cloud9, but Entity got the most out of this move since I can still recall their roster was in shambles after the DPC ended.

like meepo and alche can give an early gold lead but that doesn’t mean they are winning the game.
Looks like it's true what you're saying that doesn't guarantee a win, but at least gold can give the team a chance to get the item faster and make a comeback.
That only gives advantage and the game's result will still depend on the performance of the team.

I the past, I remember the Alche hero to be used often and the first item bought Hand of Midas gave farming speed faster.
That's odd even in pub games and that's because he already has third skill of goblin's/greevils greed. Anyway, that's really gonna give the player more gold if he's just gonna farm but it won't happen in a pro game.

Did any of you follow this year's EVO? I watched the game Street Fighter 6, it was a very good final, the player "Punk" took the title playing with Cammy, who I consider one of the strongest characters in this game, Punk now becomes one of the legends who managed to win the most difficult championship from the world of fighting games.

While waiting for the IT game in September, I'd like to try to bet on CS2. But honestly I have to learn to understand some teams and some players because I haven't watched and played this game for a long time.
So can anyone recommend me the CS2 competition that you're usually betting on?
Next week there's a Blast Premier tournament, it's one of the few recurring CS2 tournaments worth following since it's like the EPT equivalent in CS2. After that, you have IEM Cologne next and it's a much bigger tournament with teams fighting for more circuit points and the tournament winner qualifies for the World Finals.

Even though Riyadh Masters just ended, we have Elite League to look forward to, and the same as last time they'll go through the Swiss stage, so at least we don't have to deal with another set of matches ending on draws.

Midas is too greedy item for alce these days since a fight usually doesn’t go late game while alce usually take advantage his 1 to 2 items ahead against enemy team carry due to his farming capability. Building Midas in early will delay some core item for him that is essential for his early online for a team fight.

I think Midas is only applicable if he suffer a bad lane and wants to recover while his team can still create space for him. But alce winning a lane or have a breakeven lane can still farm quick ahead any enemy carry.

The rest of yesterday's bet made me a little disappointed when I had to fall asleep watching the game and miss the 3rd map. The appearance of TL makes me very sleepy.

This meta is so good for them with the deadly snowball lineups like the Broodmother and Beastmaster cores we saw from the first game and the other series they've played.

Team Liquid tried to ban some of those heroes (Enchantress, Chen, Broodmother) in the next maps and it was still not enough, they had too many options to fall back on.

I was also hoping to see the series at least reach four maps, but Team Liquid was probably demoralized after losing the first two maps as it was all Gaimin Gladiators.

The problem on Liquid is they are just picking based on the GG pick which they are always ended up with bad drop since there’s no synergy on their pick on team fights. Main proof is they never won a full team fight against GG since their pick is just good for single hero counter but no team fight advantage.

GG has a total control against them by the use of psychological strategy. Liquid and GG is like Quest and Falcon which the inferior team always play based on the stronger team plan. They are easily swayed while GG is doing their normal dominating play.

So GG is officially back in the game huh. I was expecting today to be abit tight that why I bet on over 2.5 maps on Liquid - Falcons but oh dang Liquid won 2-0 straight. Good thing that I actually didnt bet on GG - Liquid, otherwise I would have gone for Team Liquid as the winner.

Abit dissapointed that the game wasnt as intense as I expected it to be. Liquid should have win atleast 1 map there to keep up with the tension but oh well, I always feel dissapointed when grand final games ended with only 3 maps

Oh my Falcons, terrible game 1 and 2. If they're just able to make that duration 34 minutes over on map 1, I won't be disappointment even if I've lost the match winner's bet. The game is more than 34 minutes on map 2. I guess that we're seeing an ammar nerf on this patch.

Because I am impressed with Team Liquid's performance, I have bet on them to win at least 1 map. And still, I'd go with their kryptonite for the match winner - GG.

Just give me some W! this is it for the grand finals.

Ammar is completely shutdown on this game even if he pick his comfortable hero. Also Malrine is totally outplayed by Nisha on mid games that makes Falcon so bad on early game. Falcon is just strong if ATF and Malrine can create space for skiter which didn’t happened on both match.

Team Liquid is so strong from early to finish the game. Boxi has an insane game too especially with his Morph support. I think Liquid can beat GG if their support can perform like what they did on Falcon.
His best hero - Timbersaw and LC did nothing to those games. I thought that they'll be the one to go in the grand finals but it was Team Liquid. And then, we saw on how Gaimin Gladiators swept Team Liquid. As usual, GG is the kryptonite of Team Liquid. Props to Team Liquid though, they've been through a lot in this tournament and all of the other teams. Until next big tournament again for which 3-4 days from now, we'll be having the Elite League Season 2 and that's a LAN tournament which will be held in Lima.

I've won the match winner bet but not the at least 1 map for Team Liquid.  Tongue

I'm also siding with Gaimin Gladiators in this grand finals, but I will go for their map handicap to push the odds slightly higher.

I'd still assume Team Liquid will struggle against Gaimin Gladiators and I don't think the momentum from their win against Team Falcons would change the outcome of this series.

I totally forgot about Esports World Cup.  Grin  We have already reached the grand final seemingly.

Source: https://www.hltv.org/events/7732/esports-world-cup-2024

The grand final between NaVi and G2 is played with the classic format, BO3. The first map is the choice of G2 and they are killing it already.  Smiley  Nuke is the 2nd map and Inferno is there as the decider.

I even see the changes in G2 roster new. HooXi is benched and nexa already left. malbsMd and Snax are new replacements. Snax is still playing?  Huh  I mean he is 31 now.

Let's see who wins the big prize - $400k. I feel like NaVi will come back.

Team Liquid always screwing with my predictions. They won way yo cleanly against Falcons today. I could maybe see them win but no way 2:0. Now they will just gift the title to GG.

Their current pick is so unorthodox. GG can overwhelm them due to the massive summon while their only counter is Tidehunter which is not sufficient. They don’t have follow up damage after the ravage.

I’m still aiming for Liquid here if Boxi can do the same impressive game using morph since he can be source for another follow damage in the late game. I’m wondering how MK will play this out against broodmother with web all over the place.

Edit:

Liquid picks backfire. Tidehunter is proven useless.
At this point GG are firmly into Liquid's head. You can't play DOTA when you are constantly second guessing yourself and then going off the grid in drafts hoping to gain some advantage.

3:0 incoming...
