Sorry to hear about your loss but I'm curious why you took such a big risk betting on Nigma? Meanwhile, as far as I know, TS is one of the teams that relies on playing speed.
What I know before I quit following Dota 2, TS was one of the teams that was feared at that time or maybe I was too far behind regarding the latest information?
I'd assume it's because of the group stage format being a bo1, they could catch Team Spirit off guard, and with those odds, it's understandable to go for the risky play.

You're not that far behind when it comes to Team Spirit and the current competitive scene, they're still one of the scariest teams together with the other two(Team Falcons and Xtreme Gaming).

BTW, regarding the Riyadh Masters tournament there is an interesting first match between G2.IG vs Entity. What do you think, does Entity still have a chance of winning faster in the first match? I think yes
I'd give them a high probability of getting one map, most teams aim for a draw and avoid losing 0-2.

As expected, I've bet against Team Spirit for Nigma Galaxy despite that I know that they're already far behind on the meta and they're oldies now of the league. Team Spirit won and my bet has lost. That's fine, I'll recover and will bet better next time. No major league/tournament for this week but on July 4, the Riyadh Masters is going to lock and start!

Yes, they've won this tournament and it may not be that much. In an interview, I think one of them said that they're not in full form for this tournament and they're on the experimental period.

But come on, they've won and beat the other strong teams too despite that this is a tournament that could test some of their new strategies ready for Riyadh Masters and TI.
In that tournament, i'd say Team Spirit and Gaimin Gladiators are the only two strong teams. Entity and the rest could close into their level, but there's still a decent gap given both semis ended in a sweep.

If that's out of form to the Team Spirit players, i'm looking forward to the performance they'll be dishing out during the Riyadh Masters once they're fully prepared.  Tongue

The tournament of 1win series dota 2 summer was done yesterday. The champion that have won $50k in cash prize belongs to Team Spirit.

Normally the biggest e-sports tournaments are IEMs and Majors in CS2. 1 million dollars is the highest number I have seen for them so far. This disappointed me too as a result. But maybe later on Saudi Arabia would realize the importance of this. With a bigger prize pool they can attract more attention than other tournaments. They have the money for that so what's this lack of will?  Tongue
Still, even with the $1m prize pool, CS2 easily brings in a lot of viewership. Who knows maybe their organizer (ESL) prioritizes the other recurring tournaments like ESL Pro League and IEM tournaments. Or maybe the higher-ups simply favor Dota more, similar to Valve having favorites.

I'm dipping into a bit of League since the LCK summer standings are looking interesting with T1 sitting in the middle of the pack. In the second series later today, we'll have two teams with good form going against one another so I expect to see a three-map banger.

Wait what, only $1M?

Alot of cs2 tournament has $1M prizepool as well and I thought this esport worldcup tournament would atleast help them get to $2.5M prizepool atleast. Even dota2 has $5M prizepool and I thought cs2 is like top 3 most popular esports

I absolutely agree. After making a billion dollar investment into this industry how can they create a prize pool of 1 million dollars?

As I skip the other games for this Elite League, I've checked out the 1win series summer. It's about Team Spirit and Nigma Galaxy.
I'd take the gamble with Nigma Galaxy, I know that Team Spirit is strong but I can't avoid the odds and maybe some twist from them might happen.

I've won this bet:

Both of these regions are the two slots remaining for the Elite League Season 2 that will happen on Lima next month.
Nice choice to avoid the handicap on the MOUZ series and congrats on the win.
Thanks, Mouz's is going to be up against with Team Tea which has got some notable players as well but I'd skip that match.

There's not much info about the upcoming season of Elite League, but I guess we'll be seeing a lot of teams similar to the previous season since there are only a few notable teams in the regional qualifiers.
Two slots left and they're going to be from EEU and WEU, only 6 teams will participate for their season 2.

I really wish they win another TI, there hasnt been anyone that won TI 3 times isnt it and yeah imagine that Yatoro getting his 3rd Aegis before even hitting the age of 22. Dude is super talented
If the outright markets for TI are already out, they're probably one of the teams with the best odds together with Team Falcons and Xtreme Gaming.

Not that a lot of good games we have this time as TI qualifiers has ended. But this time, there's the Elite League Season 2 closed qualifier. I've bet for the WEU region as there's nothing interesting really on this and both for EEU. I chose the Mouz and Dandelions matchup. Despite that there's the low odds for the Mouz, I've chosen them because they seem to be the team that I know how to play on this qualifier although the others are good too.

Those frequent changes seem fine to me even though I like teams sticking together until the end, it's for the better when players and teams have an alternative option than being forced to stay throughout the whole season.

Well speaking of sticking together, Team Spirit was rumoured to be replacing 1-2 players because they kept losing back then but now it seems that they are already back in track. I really wish they win another TI, there hasnt been anyone that won TI 3 times isnt it and yeah imagine that Yatoro getting his 3rd Aegis before even hitting the age of 22. Dude is super talented

These days are quite silent in terms of a big tournament in CS2. However as of mid July, we are going to have a lot of fun.  Grin

The first tournament is one of the biggest events I have ever seen in this game. Saudi Arabia invested a lot of money (if I'm not wrong, billions of dollars  Shocked) into e-sports industry. They are going big with it as they see that it is a growing industry. We are going to watch many well-known strong teams in this tournament as well.

It looks like India also wants to do something here as I don't remember them being active that much. It is nice to see Eternal Fire here but I wish they were a part of the tournament in Riyadh too.  Sad

I used to always enjoy these kind of weeks with no major tournament because most teams usually shuffle their rosters before the next season begun but with the changes from Valve, its no longer enjoyable for me as teams are free to replace anyone without any penalty. Well its limited to 1 player but still its kinda weird for a team to make all those changes anytime they want when it doesnt work out

I used to love this but now its getting kinda boring atleast for me
I somewhat agree, it's mostly enjoyable after the biggest tournaments like TI, but for the CS2 scene there's barely any break and I think this is the most they usually get.

That lower bracket finals from Tundra went as expected and props to Quest for the free odds. Tongue Even though they dropped a map it felt like they trolled in the second map by picking TB support after that, they went back to serious mode in map three.

As expected. If I could place an outright bet for the qualifiers, I would have gone straight for Tundra and Entity but yeah too bad we couldnt. These two are literally the best team on the qualifiers. OG and Team Secret was probably going to flop somehow as I expected them to be

Anyway, There isnt going to be any top tier tournaments or qualifiers left until Riyadh isnt it? so anything good on cs2?
Thanks Smiley and yes, there's not much interesting going on within the next few weeks for Dota while CS2 is in the offseason with the roster shuffles.

They've won 2-0 against the Execration but too bad that they're able to lose against the Aurora Esports 2-0 as well. I think that if Aurora took the first slot and won against Talon Esports, and this was Talon and TNC. I think that it was a different story but then, better luck next season TNC.
I was close to taking their handicap against Aurora, and i'm glad I skipped because Aurora is still at another level.

Ceb was the remaining one and he's needed to be there but I like him in all aspects of being him except being trashtalker in the pub and he knows what to set his priorities first and that's his family.
I guess we're wrong after seeing them play earlier today, but instead, they're the ones who got eliminated.  Lips sealed
Yeah, I didn't thought that Ceb was there on time and will play for the team after his wife gave birth. But then, even he was there. We have belittled NaVi Juniors and they're able to eliminate them and at the same time, the qualifiers for WEU has been concluded. These two teams were able to take the two slots.

  • Upper bracket - Entity
  • Lower bracket - Tundra Esports

For the last day of the qualifiers, i'm going to hop on the TNC train, I didn't expect them to have this high of an odds against Execration as they're relying mostly on the Zeus mid and I don't know what would be their other option once it gets fully banned throughout this series. With the given odds, I had to skip the moneyline and take the handicap as the alternative, most of the series ended in 2-0s so whoever wins should likely sweep the series.

Woah gratz on snatching this 2x odds. Too bad I didnt even pay attention to this thread due to the euro hype lol but they lost to Aurora though. Fun fact, PH used to rule the SEA region and it used to be alot of Filipinos representative on TI but now we only have 1 this year. There was 3 last year and 5 players 2 years ago

I have bet for OG and lost it but that's fine but what's surprising is that they might forfeit this TI qualifiers because of not having a full roster. There are PGL rules about it and they're only allowed to sign a stand-in for one day. They've released a statement about this because Ceb's wife is laboring for their baby so, Ceb is likely to choose to support her wife than to support the team for this qualifier.
That's unfortunate for the OG squad, and without Ceb their chances just got smaller after that loss against Entity.

Then again, they have no other choice but to respect the rules and that means Navi Juniors are lucky to get the free win and advance to the lower semis.
Yeah, this Navi Juniors are easy to be taken down by them. But in honor of the rules set by the organizers PGL/Valve, they really need to have the complete roster. Let's see because it's just 15 minutes from typing this if they'll appear complete or that statement was already done for and they're going to forfeit this qualifier. That's just too sad, there's too much love from all the fans for OG despite that they don't have the original roster from the 2-time TI champs. Ceb was the remaining one and he's needed to be there but I like him in all aspects of being him except being trashtalker in the pub and he knows what to set his priorities first and that's his family.
