There are chances for it. We have news on ETH stating that Ether would gain threefold value by end of December 2018 with the support of its small contracts. They are working on forming small contracts which would in turn increase the value of Ether. Need to wait and see what happens. But we do have other competitors like; Maker, Bitcoincash, Dash, Neo, Monero and Zcash. Lets see what happens.

lol. Not because it's strongest and most popular. Because all other cryptocurrencies are linked to bitcoin. All of them trading on exchanges because of bitcoin. You can't simply destroy bitcoin by creating $Btrash or $Bcash? Even if it is better tech, it's still a fork Cheesy

It is very possible that Ethereum will be the next of bitcoin because it has a billions of supply. But before that bitcoin will stay for almost a year or more.

Everything has the chance to overcome the price of bitcoin because crypto world is full of surprises. We don't actually know when will this happen but I doubt it will really take more years.

Yes most probably. Since ETH also proves its worth being top 2 crypt though for now ETH has a long way to go before it can surpass btc still its possibility is quite high.

I was thinking too that way, i have my own question too but i guess it is really impossible. How can eth catch more than bitcoin? For me eth will always at the second as i know Bitcoin is the first coin before them.

Not it can't be. Ethereum is just the second to bitcoin and that's ho it will be. Though, there is a possibility that Ethereum could be the next if they offer what is bigger to cryptocurrency enthusiast than Bitcoin will. But if that's won't be, Ethereum can't be the leading cryptocurrency but bitcoin will be. It can only be the leading for all altcoin and ICOs

In my opinion Ethereum will never overrun Bitcoin. Soon we will have smart contracts on bitcoin as well as on Ethereum platform. Scalability issues will be solved on both blockchains. But Bitcoin still the only Daddy of cryptos.

Yes you are right, there are many coins that run on the ethereum and it makes the eth more powerful than the other altcoins. I just realized that. But anyway, bitcoin will remain king in cryptocurrency, as all altcoin prices continue to follow where bitcoin prices move.

We cannot deny it that ethereum is one of the biggest threat to bitcoin right now since it is one of the fastest arising cryptocurrency nowadays. Many people are also investing on it so that they can come up with a back up plan if ever bitcoin fails. We should also support it so that it can improve more and become as powerful as bitcoin in the future. I agree that ethereum is next to bitcoin but who knows, maybe another cryptocurrency will show up out of nowhere to beat ethereum on its current position.

There's no other coin that can overtake bitcoin. Stop thinking that there will be next to bitcoin.
ETH is ETH and bitcoin is bitcoin. Just take that way of thinking that there's no other coin that can be like bitcoin.
