Depending on how we look at it, both of these coins have their strengths and weaknesses. Bitcoin is primarily the first and most popular cryptocurrency, while Ethereum is the most adopted platform at the moment. Bitcoin is the most trusted coin among investors which makes it safer to invest. Ethereum, in my opinion, has a much greater potential for price increases. Everyone has to decide for himself what is better for him.

Many says bitcoin is the first, bitcoin is the king but imo bitcoin has become more of a store of value. With the current transaction time and cost it is not best used as a crypto currency for regular transactions. On the other hand Ethereum is more time and cost effective. At the end it all depend on your purpose. They both have huge potential to grow further in value.

I think BTC and ETH are the best investments right now, because both are able to dominate the crypto market without the slightest obstacle, and the demand from consumers and investors is getting higher and higher, but if you have to choose which a coin is the best between BTC and ETH then, I will choose BTC, because the bitcoin is the parent of all the altcoins in the cryptocurrancy,
I personally like bitcoin more, it's popular and have proven it's worth. Dominance is also a factor, just how much power does it have to be in the first spot. Eth seems having a hard time following, just look at how wide the difference is right now in terms of price, eth should been at least 3k USD, but hey it's having a hard time on staying at 1800. So bitcoin is the best for me.
ETH has been facing a lot of criticism due to the high cost of gas fees which makes the rice plummet and struggling to recover. BTC has been great from inception due to the scarcity while ETH is unlimited and not capped until the recent proposal is implemented.
I would definitely prefer Bitcoin over Ethereum, because Bitcoin has been dominating the market for a long time now. In fact, many projects were created to replace Bitcoin and they all failed. This is a good reason why you should choose Bitcoin over other coins, but that doesn't mean it's a bad investment in Ethereum. It's just that when compared to Bitcoin it will be difficult for Ethereum to beat Bitcoin. Most of the coins are pretty up high so I can't deny that it would be bad to buy right now. Sure you can buy at this current price however, it would be a little risky as we don't know if the price will continue to rise. The only moment you could buy is when the coin undergoes a correction.

In my opinion, these both coin are good in their own way so why does compare the two. Personally, I found these two coins profitable, however, what I don't like is their fees because they are so expensive. Anyway, just like what you have mentioned ETH can never be like Bitcoin and that is true because each coin has its own use case so I can't see any reason why compare those two, why not invest in both of them. Not gonna lie I also fond of Bitcoin but sometimes it is better to invest not only in one asset and Eth will be a good pair for it.
