i thinks Hard to say, I am probably giving you a biased advise, so take it with a grain of salt. There will be an infinite number of ethereums out there and the only advantage that Ethereum has over Litecoin is having smart contracts, a feature that currently does nothing. Litecoin will have smart contracts as well as Lapps. Litecoin has a finite number of coins out there, and it is decentralized, while Ethereum is not. Ethereum was premined, and Litecoin has had one of the most fairest launches. Also Ethereum has been hacked multiple times, Litecoin... none. Please take my advise with a grain of salt, Ethereum is for price speculation, it is great if you are going to day trade, if you want to hold, then Litecoin.

It is a very big gap between this two cryptos, but this two offer a very great investment and holdings for long term, when you hold LTC you can buy as many as you want now because the price is low compare to eth or even bitcoin, this two is a potential market in the future.

ETH current technical strength far exceeds LTC, it is an indisputable fact, because ETH most successful place lies in its intellectual contract and ERC20 TOKEN. As for LTC, if not lee Nicholas invited to the development team, and successfully evolved the LTC, and give it more features, I think I would not buy it.

IMHO LTC now looking like other BTC forks, and there are a lot of them, and may be some of them will be better then LTC.
ETH is first in their smart contract so i think ETH is better than LTC

I really would love to choose Litcoin but fact says Ethereum is really better. Most projects are basing on this platform, so the demand would surely increase epecially in the future. For now, I can't find the usefulness of Litecoin as much as Ethereum can offer.

Brand new to the cryptocurrency market.  Currently I hold a decent amount of LTC.  It's value has gone up nicely since I purchased it.  I've read all the predictions for LTC in 2018 and 2019.  It sounds promising as a long term hold...which is what I'm more comfortable doing...to reach $200 -$300 a coin.   I like the fact that there is a team in place trying hard to ensure it's future.  Charlie Lee may not be the most charismatic spokesman publicly but he's out there doing it which gives me confidence in his product.  Now, it's obvious that ETH is not going anywhere.  My question for the board is which outperforms the other in the next 5 years?  I tend to invest heavily in the direction that has the bigger upside.  Perhaps I should split my investing 50/50 regarding ETH and LTC?  What say the more experienced cryptocurrency gurus?

I have nothing against BTC.  I don't see it going anywhere.  It is the giant.  However, I feel the current price point is too high for my liking.

Thanks

You can pick either one, both are promising if you think them for the long period of time. ETH and LTC can make easily 2 times more returns compared to bitcoin. They're stable a the moment but they will rise soon.

ETH for sure. While LTC has been doing well lately, it is basically a faster, cheaper Bitcoin. ETH does something new that LTC does not - however, that also makes ETH more likely to crash at some point if the updates fail. If you are willing to take a bit more risk, ETH is the definite winner.

if in terms of trading, I think ethereum (ETH) is more supportive, because ethereum has a fairly rapid price fluctuations, so it can be faster also in getting profit

i will do both ethereum and litecoin together because i think this two of coins will be increase for a long term. i think if we can buy right now, we can buy many amount of that coins so we only need to wait for the increasing of the price. but we need to be careful because no one will know what will happen in the future, so our investment in ethereum and litecoin will have a risk too.

Indeed both altcoins have good progress and are very appropriate if for long-term investment, and would be better invest to in both.
both ETH and LTC have long been in cryptocurrency and of course have their reputation and capacity as altcoins that have quite active fluctuations in the crypto exchange

They both look really good in my opinion. I really think Litecoin is undervalued. I really like Charlie Lee work, and I think it will be the best coin for small payments, directly competing with dash, and monero, etc. If you look at the price of those coins now, I think you would agree that LTC should be worth more. We all know that LTC is a testbet for bitcoin, so I think we will see the lightning network there first, and that will be huge. We already saw atomic swaps, we recently saw lightning atomic swaps, that will do wonders not just for speed, but for privacy as well. All this potencial for a coin price at $70? I think go for it.

As for ethereum I agree with you. It's not going anywhere, and it will continue to be used for ICOs funding, and that means that a lot of money will come into Ether. It has some potencial as well, a good community and a good dev, so it's price will definitely go higher.

I don't really agree with you on bitcoin. Don't forget that BTC will be the door for institutional money, so being around $8k for a coin is not much.

I would say 50/50 on Ether and LTC, but don't forget about BTC. I would go like 70% BTC, 15% Ether, 15% LTC on my porfolio.

They both look good but I think it is a logical choice to split your investment instead of standing in one place.
Even so i would invest a big share in Eth  Wink

I choose both. I have ETH and LTC. But I think ETH is more promising for long term. I see the price goes up.
I don't know much about LTC but I have some coin in exchange and I don't want to sell in the near future. yea for long term.

I will go for ETH any day if you ask me as I'm comfortable with  it and never tried LTC. ETH is fast enough for me and with low transaction fee. It's next to bitcoin so I think it's good enough.

Many people would choose Ethereum over LiteCoin because LiteCoin isn't the best rival for Ethereum although LiteCoin is released earlier than Ethereum but Ethereum has the widest scalability and almost ICOs today were based on Ethereum's ERC20 platform standard.

Everyone believes in the quality of the Etherum coin. Etherum has a high level of confidence and we all know that Etherum is the best Altcoin available today. maybe some people will try another coin, but for some people Bitcoin and etherum are the best choice, they will not try another coin and will try to focus on some coins only.
in long term that is right. Bitcoin is very famous and attracts money -> price grow. ETH smart contract is the superpower. It makes Ethereum ecosystem grow constantly -> price grow.

ETH and LTC are both good but for me I'd rather to choose ETH coz mostly in signature campaign are giving ETH so I'm gaining little by little now.
