If many people started talking about that the holdings of ETH is bad idea - for me it signal to buy. Ofcourse - holding BTC is the most talking about, but for big money better Ethereum.

One can make out the huge difference in price when comparing the price of Ethereum in 2017 to its current price in 2019. 2017 experienced a bull run and most of the ICOs which utilized the Ethereum Blockchain were successful hence Ethereum had high level of market demand during those time, hence reaching its ATH price of $1.2K.

Very interesting comparison that analyzes holding ETH in 2017 vs holding it today... https://cryptotradernews.com/cryptocurrency/hodling-ethereum-2017-vs-2019/

Thoughts? I'm super happy to have swaped all of my ETH for BTC to be honest

When did you do the swap?
If you did that this month or last month then you made a wrong decision.
Look at ETH now @ very low price compare to BTC or USD.
This is the best time to invest anda wait with ETH.

in terms of prices between 2017 and 2019 it is very much different, where ethereum was able to follow the bitcoin movement. different from today, where when bitcoin rises, ethereum cannot follow it. I think it happened because a lot of investors have switched to invest their funds in bitcoin, and I'm sure that soon they will convert them to ETH

Comparing Ethereum in 2017 and 2019 are two different things I must say. First comparison is 2017 is in bull run and 2019 is in bear market so we cant really compare the price of Ethereum in this two different era. But one thing for sure is that Ethereum will surely be very useful again in the long run. Smart contract kings I must say, no one can defeat.

If someone want to make comparison of Ethereum performance between years, they should do comparison between the year of 2015 and 2019. I don't understand why OP compared performance of Ethereum between 2017 and 2019, TBH. General conditions of crypto market are very different between two years, from bitcoin domination to other external factors (outside crypto) like political isusses, Trade-war, e.g.

Don't worry too much, in worst case, Ethereum will 'only' fall to around 0.008 BTC per ETH. You won't lose all your money invested in Ethereum, and it is much better than investments in lots of other shit altcoins.

The author(Pragati) must have no clue there are many many Eth competitors and some are even better than Eth and much cheaper price.

the perceived difference between the development of ETH in 2017 and 2019 is very striking. in fact, for now, ETH prices have not developed much since the beginning of the year, and in fact, ethereum have decreased if measured from the highest price increases this year.

to be honest, I am quite sorry that I did not convert all of my ETH into the ETH form when the price went up last month. but, for now, I might see developments again, however, bitcoin has dominated 71%, so there is no other choice but to hold ETH for now.

In 2017 I bought ETH and sold it in early 2018, there was a slight decrease in prices, but at that time the price of BTC also fell and everyone would think ethereum prices would rise by more than $ 2k at that time, but the market situation said differently, experiencing a little loss and I tried to buy ethereum at $ 98 at that time many people thought ethereum would touch the price even lower, but what I saw was, ethereum prices have now gone up and I still profit by buying and holding ethereum until now

No coin till date has over performed its 2017 price. None, including Bitcoin. 2017 was a glorious era for this industry. On the hindsight, I am sure you too would've sold all your Bitcoin holdings for Fiat because even the mighty Bitcoin took a great fall to as low as $3,000. However, there are greater and interesting days ahead for this industry with daily happenings pointing towards that direction of mass adoption.

There is a mistaken notion by some that ETH is doomed to go to zero because it's price hasn't recovered. Well, no price for any coin, including BTC, has recovered, as mentioned above. BTC is down like half ... and alts from 2017 are down even more -- but for those who have been around long enough know, this is all cyclical.

Or a simpler way of saying it, predictions are useless, nobody knows what will happen.

ethereum has high quality and is still trusted by many investors, in my opinion now ethereum is still priced at a low price and is very cheap if in 2017 ethereum has a very high selling power value that is able to provide benefits because I first saw the ICO program is always successful and able jack up platform from ethereum that is often used by projects in the market

There's nothing wrong if you swap all your Eth into Bitcoin, Because whether Ethereum or Bitcoin are both good to hold frankly to say.
I remembered that during 2017 Ethereum achieved the high peak price of 0.1BTC almost each ETH by that time, so I believed that's
possible to be happen again that's why it is also good to hold Eth now and better to buy em while the price was on cheap stage.

You swapped all of your ETH for BTC? I feel like you shouldn't have done that. Not all of it at least... Diversifying isn't bad

Many investors already did the same but i will keep holding my ETH for long,if my prediction is right i think by 2021 ETH can easily reach 5000$ per one if crypto adoption keeps growing like since the start of 2019,this year alone have shown the smart ones how crypto will be better in years to come,it will be unwise to stand on btc only

I'm surprised and at the same time confuse at you post you posted this article link that stated

Conclusion
Putting a price on Ethereum is not as straightforward as it may seem. Ethereum represents the future of technology and has evolved by leaps and bounds in the past two years. Though there is a huge difference between Ethereum and Bitcoin, Ethereum has wider potential and drives more adoption than Bitcoin. The coin has strong fundamentals and is working on resolving its scaling issues, this may fuel its growth in 2020.

It never says that Ethereum is going for extinction or it's losing its appeal to investors and supporters but you are super happy that you swapped all your eth to Bitcoin, is this a good move I don't see it is, Investors should and must include Ethereum to their portfolio, like what is written in the article

You probably will regret it when ETH can go up significantly in the near future, while BTC just grows gradually.

are you trading in a market that prevents you from buying back something that is pumping? if so then you must stop trading there and come trade where the rest of us are trading. there you can easily buy any coin that is pumping so the wise thing to do is always dump the coins like ETH during their dumping years and only buy them back when they start pumping in their pumping weeks.

at what date did you do that ?  swapping eth for btc is not really a good idea if done these days  because you will only suffer for the conversion fees and you will still loose because the value of btc is also declining however if you already done that back on the year 2017 where eth and btc are both pumping then you made a right choice because the value of btc rise verry well that time as when compared to eth where it stop at 300+usd ath  .

Congratulations to you then. I have kept my ethereum and never traded it for bitcoin because I have my bitcoin on held too.
It is understood that the future of Ethereum is no longer so rosy. And Buterin says that it doesn't climb? It was also known in 2017...
Don't say it.  Embarrassed
I'm still hopeful that there will be a trendy move for ethereum with its 2.0.

It is one of the best time to get more Ethereum at this rate.
If i were you i will not do the swapping, you might end up thinking deeply why you did that.
For me it is better to cut it to half. ill go 50/50 with BTC and ETH at the same time!
