The price is below $500 at a moment so its not easy to achieve that price in quick time but surely possible to see that price on the charts in the mid of next year or finally by the end of next year.
I'm planning to buy some ETH, will it hit $1000 in 2018?

Eth will be hit 2000$ of course possible in 2018 last month until.I hope your plan will be 100% success.

Since the beggining of the year, the price of Ethereum’s ether has rallied from about 8 dollar to a current price of over $450. This rally marks a 5000 percent year-to-date return on investment for ether (ETH) holders. (may be not 5000% but i cant calculate it now, i'm very tired) In the past month ether rallied by over 150$. At the end of the year it can be about 600-700 dollars.
Suppose it will not hit this target. Yes Ethereum is growing, and it will reach a thousand dollars mark, but it can happen later, not earlier than the spring comes. Now there is some problems with speed in network, hope everything will be ok...
Hopefully the problem will solve, any speculation can be happen but let us see what gonna happen by next year, for now the price will increase again and i hope this will continue happen.

I think that in the near future we will not see such a price. Too many problems have been revealed in the ethereum system over the past few days. Transactions went up by 10-20 times. The fastest price will drop to 300 dollars, than it will rise to 1000 dollars. This is my humble opinion.
The price has been going down for several days already. I think that this will continue until the bitcoin ceases its rapid growth. Then the price of ETH will fly up to 1000 dollars

first time on +$3000 price dropped short after on $2500. After months of waiting Bitcoin price is very high.

There is nothing impossible in crypto currency world. But it depends on bitcoin.
I don't think Ethereum can reach $1,000 in 2018 because they are way too many Ether in circulation which is about 96 million ether. bitcoin is valuable because there are only 16 million bitcoins in circulation currently and it has a limited supply which is 21 million bitcoins in total.

Ethereum is now in dip, and it is indeed a perfect opportunity to buy. With the news on developments, it will go up soon. But hitting $1000 in 2018, it could be possible. Only after fixing this issue with cryptokitties that causing the traffic of the network and the disturbance on the price of eth.
Yes only the expereicned traders know that ETH will not stay at the current price and it is really a great time to buy Eth. I think we shall never get ethereum at such a low price as it is today. I was really surprised to see Eth dipping to 23% of its value today

I only know that Ethereum will grow and that’s enough for me to invest in it. Somebodies makes predictions until 2021. It’s just an entertainment for ordinary users and a tool for marketers.
If Eth reach 1000$ that mean x2 from now. I think it not possible to reach that target in January because that the first month in year so no one with try to push the price up. First month so they need to play safe to make sure whole year success.
sure if btc is 30k a pop. eth has no dollar value and is just an alt coin like the rest. show me some sat raise and maybe i jump on board
I think the fact that in January it will not cost$ 1000 and closer to Spring 2018.
If BTC will continue to grow like crazy, ETH will always be in shade of the king coin. More and more people just invest in BTC and relax. Easy money, don't need to worry about it. But I have my firm believe in ETH. 1000 $ is certainly doable.
