Mining is still profitable for people already in. I highly discourage anyone to join it now since in two months, maybe three, mining will completely stop because of Casper, meaning a transition from PoW to PoS.

PoS won't be until 2018 at the earliest. The fact that there is no concrete timeline should tell you a lot about how close to "finished" it is.
It will not be wise to rely on a single coin, if you are a miner. New coin will come. ETH made our day memorable. But soon POS is coming and very big number of miners will jump into other coins. There will be sudden rise of diff and mining will be less profitable. What if thousands of gpu starts mining zec or other coins at a time ? I wish I will get another coin like eth in future. That will make my mining profitable again

that is right. If you have paid off your miner and electricity price is low, it is still ok to mine.

Whenever this happenes, all gpu mining will be unprofitable.
But I dont believe ETH will stay on that timetable, but expect to be PoW for at least 2 more years

I think these are the miners who have lower than $0.15/kWh electricity. If the difficulty rises as fast as before, they will not be profitable soon.
I pay 0.25 dollar /kWh and use the old 7970 to mine the Eth. I will not be profitable to mine in the next few weeks.

Some time next year. There is no fixed date yet.

SIGT is more profitable from the beginning until Aug 3 2017 even though there is only 1 exchange https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/. Bittrex and other exchanges will soon be online
Unfortunately right now the difficulty skyrocketed because of too many miners. I am getting only half of what i used to mine from 50 per hour to 28 per hour with 13 1060

Its really hard to find 470's as of now since its been almost sold out in most places on any country.Just like on my place theres really a scarcity of GPU on which most people here are already engaged on mining etherium mostly and other altcoins in the market suppose it can be mined by using GPU. Mining would be profitable though in my place on just having 470.. For about 7pcs of it would be sufficient enough to have a profit on monthly basis.

Ethereum mine is very profitable, my friends are a lot of mine Ethereum. Thus Mine Ethereum can be said to be very profitable.

It's still profitable ETH is at a decent price. Hopefully it remains stable and doesn't do anymore huge swings, because thats just a pain when mining.
With the low eth rate at exchanges, the profitability is going down badly.

[/quote] you do not think correctly. Chech ethereum profit calculators. With the increase in network hashrate,increase in difficulty due to the dirty bomb and the value which is half what it was 2 months ago, you are wrong. Even a 1070 will net less than a dollar a day after electric cost.

One of my personal rigs which consists only of 3 Nvidia cards I have switched it to Zcash mining with EBWF Zcash miner. I was running them in Nicehash for Ethereum mining but I don't think it's worth anymore. Zcash mining gives me 7-10 USD more for a card if the coinwarz calculator is right.
