Bitcoin is the number one crypto currency and that cannot be dragged with by any other coin. Even with the present drop in the price of bitcoin, 1BTC worth more than 10ETH, how will it be when bitcoin recovers completely from this stage of price drop? ETH taking the place of bitcoin will not come anytime soon, and if there will be anyway coin that will be thinking of such, they will need to be with the support of over 90% people in the crypto market who is ready to invest heavily and support the project till the end, otherwise, there is no coin for bitcoin stead.
In any case, the cost of ethereum has no chance to overtake bitcoin. The fact that this coin has recently been growing relatively well in price compared to bitcoin in percentage terms, it means little. It's just that bitcoin is now a difficult period, which may soon be over. After this bitcoin will again grow in price and the price gap will again increase between them.
Anything can be possible in the world, but still i would like to say that it is not so easy, because bitcoin is the king of all the currencies and its position is becoming more stronger than its previous position, in fact people interest in bitcoin is increasing continuously therefore i do not think that any currency can overcome bitcoin so easily, it require a lot of investors promoters and people interest.

The ethereum demonstrates very good growth throughout the year, I think this coin is very promising and it can bypass Bitcoin, but if this happens then not earlier than in the year of the twentieth.

It's really hard for this to happen man, this challenge is too hard for Etherum when it has a longway to reach to Bitcoin in community. Most people in cryptocurrencies knew about Bitcoin not Etherum. When i asked a friend about why you don't invest in Etherum but Bitcoin ? They said " What the hell is etherum? " . Investors are looking for "trusted-investment" not potiental so that's why Etherum hardly to overtake Bitcoin.

I agree. Bitcoin for now has it's stable foundation and maintaining is place in cryptocurrency. However, ethereum is only limited, or still a ticket for icos. But time flies so fast we don't know whats gonna happen next!

Ethereum can overtake bitcoin, in the market of crypto currency all is possible now. This is a real wild west. In my opinion, the probability of this event is about 10%.
We do not yet know what the future looks like but in fact the ETH has the highest volume after BTC. Judging from the present situation the price of ETH is on the rise.
Etherium will overtake bitcoin! That is a tough question to answer directly. But if we look at the current statistics than it seems like a long time talk. Because right now bitcoin is the king of all crypto. On the other hand, Etherium is just getting hype for ICO! So if we talk for next two years, surely bitcoin will remain top of Etherium.
Quite possible, that Ethereum may take the lead and it may happen in 2018. Because many companies started to use Ethereum in their projects. NASA will plan use ETH.
I can be possible that ethereum can reach bitcoin price.But i am afraid that it will not happen in this time.But maybe in the near future.

I dont think ETH will pass BTC, or atleast not in the near future. But ETH is still a strong currency.
I have big doubts about the fact that ethereum will take the first place, but I do not mind it. More promising seems to me a strong strengthening of the ethereum to a value of half the cost of bitcoin.
