Ethereum and Ripple is completely different projects , i think Ethereum is good. Ripple will take long time to rise. if you a newbie to crypto i suggest you to buy Ethereum that's the safest and smart choice as i think.
Ethereum is a better selection because most traders like to use that coin more than Ripple. I agree though, Ripple investments will require some patience.

Both these coins are currently not suitable for investment. Ripple fell heavily in price and even with positive news does not rise. And the etherium will cost 400-450 dollars. These two coins disappointed me.
I will suggest you to got for Ripple. It is currently under $1 and in the worse case scenario , it will be $10 by the end of this year. You will get 10 times of your investment by investing in it.
Both are good choices and I will suggest you to buy some of both. If you still ask me to pick one, I will go for ethereum as it way much safer.

If you choose for yourself, the potential maximum profit, then I would invest in RIPPLe for a short time, as soon as the price is up to 2-2.5 dollars, immediately sold it. 
Of course i choose ethereum because of the popularity and acceptability. and i'm sure day by day ethereum is getting accepted the crypto world.

Well imo investing in etheruem can be profitable than investing ripple and now the price of etheruem is also low so it's a good time to buy right now.Ripple has comparatively stable price whereas etheruem had been steadily rising so etheruem would be better option.
I think Ethereum is really better ripple, and the ripple at this point is not good for investment because its price has not been pumping up in the past few months. And ETH is the best coin because many ICOs are collected on the ETH platform, I am sure it will grow and deserve to be invested due to its stability and scalability.
I think Ethereum is the best altcoin to invest. Currently it ranks second on coinmarketcap, just after bitcoin, which shows that ethereum is indeed a very potential altcoin, and promises to be very well developed in the future, everyday it has a huge trading volume. And at the moment, the price of ETH is low, which is a good opportunity for us to invest in it. I believe it will increase in value over the next few years.
