Bayern it is then, bring it on! We have all the tools to hurt any team in Europe.

Edit -

Btw, van Dijk will miss the first leg, that could be a major handicap for Pool.

Thomas Mueller got a red card in their last group game so he’s out too.

As a Liverpool fan only really Porto could have been seen as a good draw.

The other options were -

Real
Barca
Juventus
Dortmund
Bayern

I’d rather play Bayern than Real, Barca, Juventus or Dortmund. Dortmund are 9 points clear of them in Germany & the rest are European heavyweights.

Next round will be really easy against Manchester Citi

Liverpool has good drawing
Bayern team is old an Liverpool has all chances to goes through
Most interesting to me will be  Real-Ajax
Young wolfs Ajax-old master Real i think we will see many goals

Still planty of time until first games so we will see

Don't tell Buffon that final will be Juve-PSG and he will remain without  CL win

Despite Arsenal, Inter, and Chelsea (my top 3 to win the whole thing) got some really weak teams in the RO32, I really liked the rest of the Europa League draw, I think we're going to see some really interesting games, the following are probably the best draws:

Shaktar vs Eintracht Frankfurt
Celtic vs Valencia
Olympiacos vs Dinamo Kyiv
Lazio vs Sevilla
Fenerbache vs Zenit
Sporting vs Villareal
Galatasaray vs Benfica

@tomahawk9, I really can't understand logic of these LFC fans. Maybe Bayern aren't that this season so far, but it's strange how they can feel relieved after drawing this team. It's still top class team, even if their results aren't perfect so far. There are almost 2 months until match, lot of things can change until it as you say.
Yeah, I just happen to read those comments at random, but I'm sure it's just a minority who feel that way, it's never good to underestimate these type of teams. Btw, van Dijk will miss the first leg, that could be a major handicap for Pool.

Well, things aren't that fancy in Europa league draw. Probably most interesting pair is Lazio vs Sevilla. Meanwhile Chelsea and Arsenal got probably easiest possible opponents. There are few other pairs which looks pretty interesting, like Sporting - Villarreal, Zenit - Bayer, Celtic - Valencia or Galatasaray - Benfica, but these teams aren't among main favourites to win UEL.

Zenit is playing vs Fenerbahce, Bayer - vs Krasnodar.

Yeah, my bad, thanks. Fixed.

Klopp vs Bayern is gonna be really hot. I wonder to see what will happen if Hoeness and Rummenigge decide to fire Kovac and ask Jupp Heynckes to become a crisis manager once again)

There is always a big advantage for teams that could finish at the top spot for the group stage in the Uefa Champions League, it would allow them to face easier opponents at the round of 16, I guess all of the English Premier League clubs are going to have a tough time in the round of 16 except Manchester City who will be facing FC Schalke 04, maybe we would only see one English Premier League club to progress to the quarter-finals for the Uefa Champions League this season after the round of 16.

Well, can't complain about the draws. Can only wish we finished top, so we could play Anfield on the second leg, but that's the way it is. Lots of people saying Bayern's good now too but their form has to be temporary - the same for Real Madrid. They'll up their game in the weeks ahead plus, if they somehow end up doing worse in the league, then Champions League will be theirs to take their frustrations out on. Either way, I'm happy for the tie. Had some idiots tell me my team had it easy en route to last final, but after emerging from a group with Napoli and PSG, if we make it past Bayern, we shouldn't have any doubts about our ability.

It's a pity yes about City but I wouldn't write off Schalke either. Would be so sweet to see them crash out before the QFs. Any chance of them progressing and gaining yet more experience is something I really don't want.

Early odds on Liverpool to win first match: 2/1. I've taken a Liverpool to win the final at 10/1. City is 4/1.

IMO this is one of the best RO16 draws in years. We only have one potentially boring draw which is the Shalke vs Man City since we know who's going to advance to the next round, but the rest of the games look really exciting.

I'm looking forward to the Atletico vs Juventus, two of the best defences in europe, it's gonna be a tight game. Man Utd vs Psg...Neymar, Mbappe, Cavani against the likes of Jones, Smalling, Dalot, Young, etc, they're going to get obliterated. Spurs vs Dortmund, it's gonna be a blast for neutrals.

And finally, Liverpool vs Bayern, I've been reading some comments of twitter and reddit saying how Liverpool fans are relieved that they got Bayern because the german team isn't in the best form. IMO a lot can change until February, and Bayern is a team that always shows up in the big stages, this is probably the 2nd strongest teams Liverpool have faced in the last two years, the other being Real Madrid in the final last season, and we all know how that game ended.

Teams that I think will advance to the next round:

- Schalke - M. City
- Atlético - Juventus
- M. United - PSG
- Tottenham - B. Dortmund
- Lyon - Barça
- Roma - Porto
- Ajax  R. Madrid
- Liverpool - Bayern
Here I like your all teams for going in next round just Liverpool is my favorite because they are much better and strong instead of Bayern Lets see what happen after two months  Wink

^  I like Liverpool's chances to go thru more than Bayern tbh.  But luck plays a bigger factor in KO football, so you never know between those two.  It's not as easy to predict as City vs Schalke.

So, Champions league round of 16 teams were drawn. My thoughts and predictions for it. Team which will advance further in my opinion is bolded.
Schalke vs Man City - Simply no questions there.
Atletico Madrid vs Juventus - Juve are favorites, but I wish that Atleti would advance further. Very interesting pair.
Man Utd vs PSG - I don't see how current MU can beat PSG.
Tottenham vs Borussia Dortmund - We can expect beautiful matches and lot of goals in this pair. I think Dortmund will win, because Tote usually failing in playoff stages.
Lyon vs Barcelona - Barca is obvious favorites.
Roma vs Porto - Roma, but I wouldn't understimate Porto, they collected biggest number of points this year, but they played in weak group.
Ajax vs Real Madrid - Real should advance further, but Ajax is very dangerous team and Real is very unstable this year.
Liverpool vs Bayern Munich - best pair in this round. It's difficult to predict something. Now Liverpool looks better, but things may change until February.
This year round of 16 looks very interesting, because there are any small teams advanced from group stage.
Europa league draw will begin in 15 minutes.

Even though Arsenal have already successfully qualified for the next stage in the Uefa Europa League, and the manager of Arsenal Unai Emery did also rested a lot of key players in their match against Qarabag yesterday, but Arsenal are still able to beat Qarabag with a 1-0 scorline yesterday. Arsenal have not lost even one game in the group stage and I hope they can keep up with this performance and get into the finals for the Uefa Europa League tournament this year.

I thought Chelsea would win this Europa League, actually, but we never expected Arsenal to get their revival so fast. We won't see any more English teams drop into Europa so England still rests on these two. Chelsea I am not so sure anymore they had a lot of trouble in the cold weather, but then again, we haven't really seen the same teams fight in EPL and in Europa, you're right to say that Arsenal look like finalists.

Hopefully they let the youngsters appear in the final as reward for helping them get that far.

The CL final 16 draw is on Monday, I’m really looking forward to it & will probably watch on a live stream or something.

Should be some real heavyweight battles now it comes to the knockout stage.

Biggest surprise in Europa league so far - Milan eliminated after group stage by Olympiakos. They lost to Opympiakos 3:1 in decisive match. Also, Rangers of Steven Gerrard eliminated by Rapird Vien, but I'm not sure that we can call it as surprise.
There are few surprising results like MOL Vidi 2:2 Chelsea or Dudelange 0:0 Betis, but it's mainly because big clubs played in reserve squads today.
And IMO biggest disappointment in tournament - Marseille, last place in group with 1 point only.
Draw of UCL and UEL playoffs will be held on Monday.

Liverpool’s potential opponents in the last 16 (It will be one of these) -

BORUSSIA DORTMUND
FC PORTO
BARCELONA
BAYERN MUNICH
REAL MADRID
JUVENTUS

Except Porto they all look very strong opponents for Liverpool but I think that Liverpool in the current form can beat anyone of them. Juventus looks like the strongest opponent which I wish they do not meet each other here, Cristiano can do real damage so better any other team to fight in this round.

Yeah I agree, I wouldn’t mind facing Dortmund though, I don’t think they are that great. Also Real Madrid look a shadow of the team they once were. All of Real’s big players are getting old & Ronaldo has obviously gone.

There will be lots of games between huge clubs in the round of 16.

Yup.  And I'm pretty sure Real would be the most ideal club to face Liverpool not just cos 'no CR7' or they've been sucking lately.  But cos LFC would surely have more motivation to win vs Real than any other club left in the CL.

Spot on tokeweed, absolutely spot on.
I’d Merit you but I’m all out man!

Any way just finishing up at work then going to the bookies. So many games tonight, definitely an opportunity to make some money in the EL games....well, try to win some money any way Smiley

Think Arsenal and Chelsea will also play shit squads and lose tonight? Tempted to bet against them.
I don't know if they'll lose tonight but i'm sure they'll play with alternative squads today, why risk an injury when you're already in the next round, right?

I thought we were gonna have a boring europa league today but I was looking at the tables and group G caught my attention. Either team (Villareal, Rapid Vienna, Rangers, Spartak Moscow) could qualify to next round, all they need is a win. I'll be watching the Villareal vs Spartak.

There's also a couple of big teams who need to secure a win today to advance to the next round or they'll get KO'd from the competition: Sevilla, and AC Milan.
