The bitcoin in the cold wallets (refer to #1704) is still untouched, how can ED settle most withdrawals from investors and players?

I'll be surprised if 1dice1 gets refunded.

According the the notice posted on everydice, 1dice1 has already got his withdrawal.

The coins we got from selling the site will be used to reimburse players and investors of EveryDice. Until today, we have settled most withdrawal from investors and players that have contacted us, including 1DiCe1.

Wow. Respect to ED if he did that.

Well, for what it's worth since the code has been sold to a third party, there's a very good chance we'll see Everydice back in some form or another soon Smiley

Wow Sad I loved everydice so much. I would play there over any casino.

When I saw the phrase "good news" I thought it was opening up Sad. Shouldn't have gotten my hopes up, but I do wish the best for the future of it.

That is some good news that I haven't expected. Smiley

Thats some big good news update! Hopefully the site goes live again.. I loved it while it lasted. SUCH A SHAME Sad( Sad

I don't think the site will go live again. The code buyer will probably re-launch EveryDice with a new name. Smiley

great news that Ed didn't run off.  He didn't seem like the character to do so.  then again, character doesn't count for much in btcland.

hope everyone get's settled properly.  Huge props to Ed.  I hope the next re-incarnation involves Ed in someway as it'll be much different without him.

Okay, so I've got some really surprising but awesome news! http://everydice.com/

That is good news.

I would be a little wary of sending my password hash to a previously unknown email address, but since the site is down anyway I guess it's OK.

Requests for users to send passwords (hashed or not) set off these scam alarms in my head, is all.

Okay, so I've got some really surprising but awesome news! http://everydice.com/

It seems like after a few months (I can't believe this all happened back in May!) Ed has finally managed to secure a buyer for the site/code, and the site is now refunding any coins owed to players. I have received all of the funds that were in my Everydice balance.

Here's the full update:

Since EveryDice was closed, few people were trying to contact us and offer to buy the whole site and code. Few weeks ago we finally made a deal with one of them.

The coins we got from selling the site will be used to reimburse players and investors of EveryDice. Until today, we have settled most withdrawal from investors and players that have contacted us, including 1DiCe1.

To those who still have their balance left in our site, please send email to [email protected], and write down your:
  • Username
  • Encrypted password hash using Bcrypt (http://www.bcrypt-generator.com)
  • Withdrawal address
  • Message signed with one of your previous deposit / withdrawal address if you either have more than 1 BTC in your account or you have 2FA enabled
  • Estimated withdrawal amount (optional). We will send the coins in your account after we validated your information.

We sincerely apologize for all that happened during the last few months. EveryDice is over, but hopefully we can be remembered as a site that boost Bitcoin popularity, not the one that give bad reputation to it. We also want to thank all parties, players, and investors that trust and support us this far.
I know it's been a pretty rough few months, probably for Ed as much as anyone, but it seems like to be fair to him he's worked his socks off and actually came up with a resolution that suits everyone involved.

If you had any BTC left in the site I'd advise following the above steps asap to get your coins back Smiley

Someone suspected that "mysterious investor" was uptweets, who has completely vanished since the incident.
Looks to be the case, but what I cannot understand is why uptweets hasn't taken the coins out of the cold wallet yet.

He doesn't need to, he will clean the BTC when he needs the money

You would think he would like to make the BTC disapeared right away but apparently he doesn't

Does anyone have the transaction IDs associated with the scam? If you have ever deposited, or withdrew from EveryDice please post your TXID here. Maybe we can trace the wallets and see if the scammer is still in the Bitcoin community by another name.

These are ED cold wallets:

Coz it was a nice long term scam , with solid profit for them. Probably ended up bit earlier than they wanted coz of 1dice1 but stilll they made nice amount of money.

The problem is, since the coins are still in cold storage it makes me wonder if even whoever was in control of them, still actually has control of them... is there a chance that something has genuinely happened to the coin holder?

Or is this probably just a ruse, hoping that we all forget about it in time and don't notice the coins being transferred out?

Even if Everydice's story was true, and the site's bitcoin was in the hand of a "mysterious investor", I don't think you can find him...
Someone suspected that "mysterious investor" was uptweets, who has completely vanished since the incident.

Everyone should read the first page of this thread.  In addition to me warning people that this was a possibility, there is also one user who wanted to invest "a large amount" and then asked ED if he wanted to "sell the site other then take donations" (not sure what this means but may be misworded to sell the site and just take commissions).  This user also has not posted on BCT in ~3 weeks, which seems to be 1-3 days after all of this going down.

Could be a giant coincidence, could be the two of them were in cahoots since the start, could be ED is telling the truth (yet is/has still acted extremely unethically), could be ED is looking for a scapegoat.  Just seems...odd to me.

It makes sense.
Btw, it seems uptweets has put quite some effort and bitcoin in promoting ED, or maybe just trying to get some ref.

I am surprise not so many members came forward to say how much they lost

uptweets hasn't logged in since May 27, it would be interesting to have a comment from him but it would probably be along the lines of "i am not the early investor ED is talking about"
