GTX 1070 EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner

  Speed          Power usage       Effecincy
 490 Sol             137W            3.58 Sol/W

What are your settings for that? I cant even come close to that at 155w

You cant, i highly doubt he can do it over longer period.

Also nicehash, those numbers are awesome? Have you made some iprovements to the equihash algo?

I have been discussing optimizations with djeZo and we agreed we implement popular algorithms first, such as Ethash, before further optimizations. This makes sense if you are using excavator in conjunction with NiceHash Miner. I am pretty sure he would be able to catch up with his competition once he sets his mind to it.

Just to confirm there were no improvements to the mining speeds for 10xx series Nvidia cards?

No.

I understand that you are aiming for best efficiency , but why not release a "full throttle" version that matches EWBF, for people that do not care about electricity costs?

i don't think that would work out well... i run my cards for efficiency with EWBF version and still do better than the current excavator so making a full throttle version that is suppose to compete for a version that runs more efficiently would be counter productive... imho.  I'd rather wait for a version that is competitive against EWBF.

The wait is over, folks! Here comes the new version:

excavator v1.2.0a
https://github.com/nicehash/excavator/releases/tag/v1.2.0a

New features include:

  • changed commanding interface to JSON based messages over startup file or API
  • CUDA: added decred
  • added OpenCL support
  • OpenCL: added pascal
  • OpenCL: added equihash

Please read the documentations very carefully, especially if you are using AMD cards.

We would love to hear your feedback to make excavator the best miner ever. Enjoy!

Tried on my 270X and 280X.
Claymore:
270X - 200H/s
280X - 330H/s
excavator:
270X - 125H/s
280X - 225H/s

Excavator running with 2 threads on each GPU. With 1 thread speed less than pointed.

Those cards are all GCN1-based and I didn't prepare binary kernels for them for this version.
We will eventually get there. No worries.
Thanks, we will wait...

ill check it out once i got some spare time in the next couple days, im mostly amd currently and not mining due to heat, but a short testrun doesnt harm Tongue
also the api seems nice, though i would love to use http calls as well as plain sockets (i assume its plain sockets as before with nheqminer and because of the \n)

HTTP makes sense... I will discuss this with djeZo.

Hm.. Can you post sample bat file for running this miner pls ?

Something like this should work:

Code:
@echo off
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 1
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
excavator -c command_file_example.json
