I think most people lost interest because of its terrible performance in the past 7 years or so
Or its maybe the opposite-its performing bad because not many people are interested in it.

Thinking of it, I don't remember any of my friends even mentioning DASH in the last few years, let alone buying/hodling, but I still see it on crypto ATMs.

Farewell, Leo
Why has interest in this coin dropped so much?
My take is this:

- Do you want strong privacy? If yes, buy Monero, because if you care about privacy, you'd probably prefer the best privacy protection with the least cost. Otherwise, buy bitcoin.

It's really that simple. In terms of performance, nobody beats bitcoin. People who are into the space for years know this, and store their savings in bitcoin. Is bitcoin the most convenient cryptocurrency to pay merchants? No. Monero, for example, is faster on-chain, cheaper and you don't have to select which txo to spend, as amounts are hidden.

Everything else that offers less privacy, or is less decentralized (e.g., Dash) will go obsolete, because if you're going to trade bitcoin, then there is no reason not to have the best privacy for so little cost.

DASH 193.66257456 24h trading volume  Sad
Why has interest in this coin dropped so much?
I hope that even this small volume of trading with it, manages to cover the maintenance costs and that low profitability will not be a reason to remove it from the offer.

Dash used to be a top10 coin in 2017, now it is about 170 in market cap rank.

I think most people lost interest because of its terrible performance in the past 7 years or so

Exchanged BTC to ETH Sent the transaction and it is in Pending status For three hours already. After an hour I wrote to support and they said to wait. I don't want to wait so long and asked to cancel the transaction. Tech support stopped replying and two hours of silence from them. Transaction is waiting as well as all outgoing from their wallet. No one is doing anything.  Undecided

Hi, we have responded to all support tickets already. Please check your order.

As mentioned in our answer, our ETH node crashed and is currently resyncing.  All orders will be processed automatically when the node will be back to the normal state, it can take a few hours.

Edit: all relevant transactions are now processed, issue solved

We hope amateur investigators like ZachXBT could reduce the amount of information based on assumptions in their publications, since they perfectly know that most of their audience can be easily misinformed with marketing purposes. It is also important to highlight that with mistakes like that amateur investigators like ZachXBT may put in danger innocent users who might be targeted by law enforcement by mistake because they (LE) often rely on information provided by amateur CT investigators like ZachXBT, EvilCos, Fun, SomaXBT, Tayvano and some others without additional verification or confirmation.

To be clear, we have reached ZachXBT with a correction comment before publishing this however did not receive any response.

It's easiest to point the finger at someone these days, especially if you know that someone won't or can't retaliate with something concrete, such as a defamation lawsuit. I don't know if it's just a coincidence, but as I've been following this topic, I've noticed that this isn't the first time someone has made these or similar accusations without clear evidence.

We have to correct ZachXBT on his recent post where he mentioned eXch:

https://twitter.com/zachxbt/status/1859233128159551691
[nitter] [oshi.at screenshot]

3/ An initial tracing of the theft saw all of the stolen funds flow to eXch on Ethereum and Bitcoin where funds were converted to Litecoin and transferred to numerous services.

For the public record, we hereby state that there are absolutely no indications of these funds exchanged through us being converted to Litecoin.

Meanwhile we couldn't extract the data to determine what currency was used exactly because we do not store any order data more than 15 days, we were still able to confirm that our node sent no identical LTC payments within that time frame, thus the affirmation about Litecoin outputs ZachXBT posted in his Tweet is 100% erroneous.

We have used the same technique ZachXBT and other investigators often use in investigations (on-chain transaction timing correlation across a set of different blockchains) to verify the veracity of ZachXBT's results and since we got more resource for that being the entity he tried to investigate, we were able to determine the absence of Litecoin transfers with more precision, confirming that the information published by ZachXBT assuming Litecoin outputs is false.

We hope amateur investigators like ZachXBT could reduce the amount of information based on assumptions in their publications, since they perfectly know that most of their audience can be easily misinformed with marketing purposes. This eXch.cx exchange is flawless in every way I have noticed. It is extremely low cost, extremely reliable, and fast. It is respectful of privacy, and extremely easy to use. [...]
At such moments I smile (I think eXch does too).  Smiley

Btw, if someone is expecting a correction, now is the time to make an exchange (at this very minute 180.00 USDT is available).

By the way, Google Safe Browsing gives me good results less and less often recently.. Undecided  The last sites I reported were never blacklisted, despite numerous reports, while some months ago it was always done in a few days. I hope this is only temporary.

I don't know if they just got lazy or left everything to the AI. I always clearly provide a link to the original website with such reports, and I don't see how human intelligence would have any doubts about whether the report is good or bad. Some 5-6 years ago, most reports would have been resolved in 24-48 hours, we just have to see if we will be lucky enough to be noticed this time.

Join the world-leading crypto sportsbook NOW!
I imagine that's going to be quite expensive unless absolutely huge values of crypto were traded at once (for example: tends of thousands of dollars worth) so as to make the exchange fee negligible.
That would make sense for the transaction fee, which is fixed. The trading fee is a percentage.

I don't expect much traders though: eXch follows the rates of other exchanges, so there's not much space for arbitrage trading.

I haven't used eXch, but while assembling mock trades I noticed the more you trade the lower their fee percentage becomes.

As for arbitrage, with prices of various currencies being so volatile at the moment, a day trader could do quite well.  Or, lose the farm.  In my case my fear of the latter is significantly higher than my faith in the former.

Lately, there have been dissatisfied users because there was not enough XMR or ETH in the reserves. At times almost all eXch reserves were in BTC, obviously day traders also used this exchange.
Those complaints were sometimes unfounded. It's true that eXch often lacks ether and stablecoins, but the person who was complaining about monero, claimed there was never any reserves of it at all (if I remember correctly). That isn't true. They have monero available, but due to a big demand, the reserves often get depleted. As I am writing this post there is around 1000 XMR up for grabs.

Regarding day traders, I don't think they would be that interested in eXch. The fees are low for a privacy-centered exchange, but you will still get better rates on CEXs where most of the day trading takes place.

We can only guess what kind of mess it would be if there were more different coins and networks. On that side, I understand the exch team more clear that they are not expanding the list of supported coins.

Day traders, you mean people using eXch for day trading?

I don't think anyone would use an exchanger for trading though - the fees would be too much.

My only complaint is that they are sometimes low on stablecoins in situations where I need them, and they don't support them on other networks other than Ethereum. I would also prefer paying less exchange fees when swapping for monero. Other than that, it's pretty great.

Welcome to the club. People can be skeptical of eXch, but all that skepticism goes out the window the first time they try it. Complaints I have include that it isn't easy to find on the internet by searching for exchanges. Ranking pages in top search results don't include this website in their exchange rankings.
I wouldn't bother too much about what ranking websites list. They go for the popular brands and copy from one another with a few changes. If you check a source like KYCnot.me, you will find eXch among the best-rated exchanges.

Should bitcointalk forum also remove favicoin?  Wink
I don't think so. This is a bitcoin forum, not a privacy oriented forum. Bitcointalk is doing ok imo, balancing usability and privacy.
Even if the favicon.ico (not "coin") can be used for tracking, that doesn't matter for sites where you use an account.

If you are correct and eXch is the number one non-KYC exchange, then it means scammers will keep up their attempts at regularly churning out duplicate websites in the hope they can scam as many people as possible. When one is closed down another will open therefore people have to be vigilant they do not end up on the wrong (scammers) URL.

It's pump season for Bitcoin, which also means it's phishing season. So everyone should be very careful about which websites they visit.

A good idea would be just to remove it enterily in privacy oriented projects.

The favicon attack discussion is interesting, but to my knowledge, it would not be very relevant for exch (correct me if I'm wrong!).

I've read the page about the supercookie attack and the idea seems to be that a website could redirect users (on their own site, of course) across different favicons to assign it an unique user ID and then re-check the ID every time the website is visited via checking which ones of these favicons have been stored. But only the website itself can, at later visits, re-check that user ID. Thus the method is useful if a webmaster wants to know if an user has already visited the site, and what they're doing on the site. Of course this would mainly make sense inside of ads or iframes, or on large sites like social networks.

Now of course in theory if exch adds a favicon it could perform this attack too and track users even if they don't log the IP address. But it would be probably easily detectable if I'm not wrong. And I heavily doubt that they would like to destroy their excellent reputation that way Wink

AFAIK with this attack it is not possible to enable another website to know that you visited exch if exch is not cooperating (and adding such a "tracker favicon iframe" which installs the "supercookie" to their website).
