Life, Love and Laughter...
^  Yup...  And Russell to snatch a points finish and Norris to be in the Podium.  It’s their home race.  It can’t end any better than that.  Smiley

But I really do feel like Russell could push it a tad more and get a points finish.  It’s at 2.25 at Stake rn.  Not sure how much at the other books.  Norris top 3 at 3.8.  Value?

I do have a feeling that Lewis will snatch this victory and the points. If Max wins, I think we can already call the season off and make Max the champion as I simply don't see him losing the points anymore for the rest of the season.

Silverstone so far has always been for Mercedes or Ferrari so I think it will remain the same.

We saw a really interesting race today. I mean that Verstappen wasn't very interesting as he won the race too easily. But the real competition was in behind rows. We've watched a really nice competition among Ricciardo, Sainz, Leclerc and Perez. The damage on the Hamilton's car was really unfortunate for him that he had to give up his place to Bottas as he wasn't able to keep up with Verstappen. Norris also passed him and Hamilton pitted after it. He tried to close the gap but it was nearly impossible and he finished as the 4th. We've seen many time penalties in this race also. For example, Norris just killed Perez's race while he was defending him and got a 5 sec penalty for that.

I'm really happy for Bottas and Norris both. They really needed a podium and they got what they wanted.

Anyone heard the news that Crypto.com is now Formula 1 inaugural global partner of the F1 Sprint series, and they are continue to spend money on promoting their business and crypto:
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.formula-1-announce-crypto-com-as-inaugural-global-partner-of-the-f1-sprint.ozYI9zd0622tZyvroYhcM.html

No, but I've surely seen their banner over the race at Red Bull Ring. I am not into crypto.com and one important reason is the huge amount of investors' money they've spent on the domain, but it's still a nice feeling to see that banner at such an important event. And since many more will come because of the Sprint series, even better!

Max did a flawless race, but I didn't really enjoy it because of so the many penalties (and the stupid errors that caused those penalties too, obviously).

Did notice that rather big blue banner just above the track while watching the qualifying round yesterday.
So expect to see it during the main race which starts in about 35-40 minutes from now. Smiley

Still have time to put in a wager on the winner today.
Hamilton is @5.50x after finishing in the top 5 in yesterday's round while Max the man of the qualification is @1.34
So as expected after those practice/qualifying runs the odds did shift. Wink

It must be a small preview surprise because they say in the link they will start their partnership at the next Grand Prix
Quote
with the first event at Silverstone on Saturday July 17th, at the Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix.

and they will launch a new award at the end of August
Quote
will begin at the Belgian Grand Prix where we will present a brand new award.

Besides that, I've placed a small dozen of bets on this Grand Prix but I think those 3 ones could be interesting IMO.

H2H Mick Schumacher VS Nikita Mazepin : Mazepin @4.30
H2H Pierre Gasly VS Yuki Tsunoda : Tsunoda @3.35
H2H Kimi Raikkonen VS Antonio Giovinazzi : Giovinazzi @2.15

It is disgusting how much FIA loves mercedes, they are basically one step away from giving all the keys to mercedes openly. First it was the FIA regulations that decided there can't be under 2 seconds because "it is dangerous" as if these are not cars that can go nearly 300 km per hour in a very short span of time that ends up getting close to each other and even some of the flied off high before. Then it was regulations about the wings which was basically aimed towards Red Bull of course.

Now FIA president comes out and says that all that tire burning acts at the end where Max was simply celebrating is "not tolerable" and once again "dangerous", this is formula 1 a ton more dangerous stuff happens then just some celebration. It is just too obvious that FIA loves mercedes and wants them to win every single year and they will do regulations and punishments as much as they can to hurt other teams and help mercedes, it is just simply disgusting.

Some good points and I think Formula 1 is destined to suffer from lobbyism. If a car is inferior for a specific reason but you are in a good position to influence the governing bodies of that sport, it easier than in many other sports to get the rules changed or adjusted in your favor. There is nothing you can in soccer unless you bribe a referee of course.

Not the first time there have been judgments or rule changes that favors one team over another. As for the security aspect that the FIA president points out, I am with you. I am sure there will be more differences in the future. Red Bull is formula one only, Mercedes is a massive car manufacturer. I am quite sure they have the better lobby and even if it's only for the fact that they have been in the Formula 1 for so long.

Same as in other sport, the governing body absolutely rules. No exceptions.
I know, just like in UEFA pertaining to celebrating after a goal and in this instance a checked flag, it sucks but they made these restrictions and continue to make the rules whenever they see fit during the course of any race.
Was Max fined for doing that mini burn out after the race?

The qualifying race is about to go under way with Verstp. @1.25 to win this one.
So then in less than 24 hours from now we will have the final race to see who wins it all in Austria.
Here are the latest odds which might change if max does not win todays race:

Max again for the win! Over 35.74+ seconds with the definite domination in this race against Hamilton.

Didn't know red bull had a sponsor with a crypto-related name on their car.
https://www.ledgerinsights.com/red-bull-racing-f1-team-signs-nft-deal-with-tezos/

Can't wait for their next race!

The 35 seconds are fake, Hamilton did one extra pit stop to take an additional point of the last lap with a set of fresh tires.
However, the game was dominated anyway and he could not compete with Redbull.

After the last update of their engine, RBR seems too strong for this Mercedes.
Sure, it was not accurate with the pitstop by hamilton to change his tires but this is what the FIA documented it as if not by a tenth of a second but it was by 35 seconds regardless in their view and statistics records.
So you can argue with them on that. Wink

It was a solid win by Red Bull even with Bottas grabbing the third place from Perez by half a second at the end.
So you can play on the time with that as well with a Mercedes win. Cheesy

Great race, Max! Congrats!

Yep, he did just perfect from start to finish. Great race for him, boring for us to watch  Cheesy
Leclerc, on the other hand, did a very good recovery race. He was one of the few worth watching.

After the last update of their engine, RBR seems too strong for this Mercedes.

This may be indeed the case. However, I'll wait for a few more races until I'd get to indeed say that for sure.

I believe when you see Max as the "favorite" in race this many times in a row, that kind of says something. I know even after today there are tons of people who believe Hamilton could make a comeback and to be fair the early races are a bit more favoring the Red Bull side, and we are getting to that "top speed matters" tracks once again, however it is not really that shocking to me that if Max really can hold it together and do not have any accidents like baku race or any mishaps, literally just finish rest of the season no matter what, then he could be champion very easily.
We are going to see Hamilton make a mistake again, or mercedes could make one because they haven't been that great this year as a whole team, and that is where Max keeps all of his earnings so far. It is nice to see these races once in a while instead of like every day in some other sports, it makes the races so much more fun.
There are still quite a lot of races ahead to make far-reaching conclusions, so everything can change and Mercedes will be able to catch up with Red Bull in terms of racing pace. But the fact remains that Mercedes cannot win for the fourth race in a row and Verstappen's Red Bull looks better both in qualifying and in the race itself. Another question is that after it was officially announced that Ferrari will not modernize the car this year and all the finances will be thrown on the car next year, it turns out that hardly anyone will be able to interfere in the competition between Mercedes and Red Bull this year.

Today, I was really delighted to watch the Austrian GP. Max Verstappen was incredibly good from the start to the end.

Starting was very important for both Verstappen and Hamilton. It was a long straight and I was wondering whether Hamilton would overtake Verstappen there. But Verstappen defended very well and didn't give any space to him. After that, Hamilton was never able to get even near him. At the end, the team realized that he wasn't going to be able to catch Verstappen and they went for the fastest lap. And Hamilton had the fastest lap at the end. That is very valuable extra one point for him. It is crucial for the title competition.

Great race, Max! Congrats!
