We will see it this season. For sure if Perez somehow made some points, he might be retained but if not, I think Ricciardo might be at the door at the half of the season. We'll never know until we see it. I hope that we are entertained with the season now and it's not just pure red bull, you know?
I hope that it won't be just Red Bull winning all the races this season. But considering the first race results I have big worries about that.
Verstappen was like the usual. Even against his teammate he was too comfortable on taking the win in Bahrain. I wish Leclerc didn't have front tyre locking issue at the first times of the race. He could have made the race for podium much more exciting. I don't know how Ferrari managed to give Leclerc a worse car than Sainz's for this race.
The radio wars between Leclerc and Xavi still go on from where it left!
After watching P1 Matt&Tommy's latest podcast on this first race of the season, they basically said it was going to be another season where Max is going to dominate if he finished 22.45secs over his own teammate. Red Bull pretty much has the championship locked from what was seen right from the start.
If that doesn't sound like a complete snoozefest for the fans, then I don't know what would otherwise.
Their thumbnail of the video doesn't inspire either: "Is the F1 in trouble?"
As with Leclerc's front tyre lock ups, I did remember seeing smoke coming from the front of the Ferrari when coming out of the turn. So it must of happened more than once when I noticed it.
This problem would need to be addressed before the next race for him to get ahead of Sainz. If they want to even be a problem to Max in the next race.
Which at this point is hard to see how.
@FanEagle
If Verstappen wasn't even pushing the car's limits then at what point would he even be challenged?
Or how about his own limits?
Because over the radio, he didn't seem to have any issues in this race.
It was funny to see him taking a pitstop and even his own teammate couldn't even get past him he was out so far ahead. There wasn't any other cars to be seen on the track when he got out of the pit lane.
I believe the announcers even mentioned about the rule of unlapping when he was passing the other drivers in the end. Just to have some banter and basically having a joke at the rule at his point.
