It doesn't feel like nitpicking to me either because we really witness him having issues. Norris closed the gap many times thanks to Red Bull's recent problems. Red Bull made a really rare mistake with Verstappen there as well though. That pit stop time must have felt Verstappen like a year rather than seconds. I don't think this will happen again this week though. No matter what, I believe Norris has a fast enough car to fight for the win on Silverstone.

Norris is looking like he should and deserves too on McLaren's and his home track at Silverstone so far.

I could actually see RedBull having issues here but we might be in for a surprise with Perez actually catching a podium because if he continues to score low points , he will be a liability for his team to win Constructor championship and Max cannot do it alone no matter how hard he tries. I can also see Aston Martin having a great race here with both cars even if the development of their car actually slowed down a lot in the last races without scoring important points...

Grip is really strong on this track. You know Red Bull has had some balance problems in the car and had serious issues on tracks with low grip.

However there is a big threat from now on even if we see Verstappen strong this weekend. It is Norris. Cool

I expect the big challenge to continue from where it left and in an even more heated way.

Silverstone is a very important place for Norris as he is British. He would like to push the limits to the end to bring the win home. What do you think about Copse? Do you expect an accident there? I wouldn't be surprised to see it. Tongue

For me, it was a racing accident that was unnecessary for both of them in my view. With a little patience, Norris could probably have got very close to Verstappen on the straight after that hairy corner and only tried to overtake on the next one. In any case, the collision did Norris more harm than Verstappen, that's definitely a fact for me.

What can we expect? They are both very competitive (they all are) but especially if you are trying to win a championship title. I do think that Verstappen does deserve the penalty but that is what happens when you are unyielding. Which to me is just a result of having a winner mentality.

He says in an interview that “I could also just go home” when asked about why didn’t he just let Norris through. Honestly I am just very entertained. We now have 5 different race winners from four different constructors and we are only half through the season.

I agree that it was such an unnecessary kind of touch. Norris and Verstappen both were at fault there.

Norris pushed his luck too hard and Verstappen tried a very late defending move. Verstappen absolutely deserved that penalty as it was dangerous driving. It is funny that both of them had a blowout after this tough challenge.

I'm announcing Russell as the luckiest driver of the day. Tongue

He got the win chance served on silver platter for himself and he didn't turn it down. Lastly poor Leclerc... His race finished after the touch with Piastri.

This result only helped Verstappen to get away more as it can be seen down below.

Piastri is the bad guy this weekend from getting a grid penalty that took him out of starting 3rd to 7th at the start of the race.
Then he caused Leclerc's front wing damage from the very first turn. Enough so forcing him to pitstop in need of a replacement which took him near the bottom of the race where Sargent is.
All race the leader Verstappen, Norris and Russell haven't budged.

Just strange not seeing that Dutch sea of smoke in the air above the grand stands.
It really made a synonymous atmosphere for a Max Win!

If in few last qualifications basically there was no gap, now there is 0.4 seconds or few cars between them.
This track always been good for Red Bull and also seems that high temperatures works in their favour. It will be big surprise if Max will not win tomorrow.

So true! The way Verstappen drove today truly makes him one of the greatest of all time because putting 0.5 seconds between him and 2nd place without having the fastest car is mega impressive and I'm sure he could have even make a better lap which is insane to think about it.

Tomorrow is the race and I really cannot see him losing 1st position for the entire of the race but I could see some safety cars happening that could shuffle top 2-5 a bit. Grin

I don't expect this look to change in the race as well. He wants to win this race by as big gap as possible to give the win as a gift to the fans at Red Bull's home.

McLaren looks like the 2nd most solid team right now. Norris did a great work. Piastri also did by taking the 3rd place first but his time was removed due to track limits. Sad

I'm sorry for him but I still expect him to fight for top 3 despite starting in the 7th place.

After sprint qualifying with Max taking pole position it looks like he will be ahead for Sprint aswell.
There was a new rule imposed by the FIA that no orange smoke will be allowed during the race tomorrow.
Not sure why as it is a tradition at Red Bull Ring for the Dutch driver's team home track.

As it can be seen, having higher downforce is going to be really important here. McLaren is expected to gain some extra advantage because of this feature of the track. Maybe another opportunity for Norris to go for the win? Grin

Red Bull hasn't been able to maintain a big gap with McLaren in power. This is their home maybe but it is still a fact to take into consideration. I don't expect Leclerc to be as competitive as Norris for the win. I hope Norris gets his 2nd career win in the same season. Roll Eyes

I'm okay with its happening in this race too.
