I'm looking forward to see Sebastian Vettel driving that legendary McLaren MP44 of Senna as that would bring so many memories back and hopefully he will do it a bit slow so the public will actually have the time to admire the car.

Regarding race , I can't see Max losing this one so I think he will take pole , fastest lap and also win the race. I could also see McLaren having a better race than Ferrari and I can also see Mercedes not even catching top 6 with either of the car.
Vettel has only retired several years ago but him driving the McLaren for one last lap would be an instant classic to see.
The resurgence these two young drivers in Norris and Piastri have put back into the McLaren fanbase is undeniable.
But this race is in Ferrari's backyard so you can never count them out on this track.
We will see when the first of the practice races takes place in about half an hour.

@FanEagle
Agree with you on the podium bets as Max is in the zone.

The fact that Max is getting those odds is making things a little boring to bet, thankfully there are some podium bets and that is what I like to do, because betting on who will win doesn't really mean anything to me. Perez is also making it boring this season so far, he has been quite great, last season seems to be a fluke where he had a few unlucky situations, this season he is much more careful and doing better as a result of that.

I believe that we are not going to end up with anything nice when you think about it, it is going to be boring for people who like to bet on these. In any case, I do believe that Max will win, but that is not a shocker, I believe he will win all races, and only be shocked when he doesn't end up winning like last race.

With Max Verstappen.

Without Max Verstappen.

Take the high risk or keep it safe.
Good luck everyone!

Still nothing interesting or rewarding enough in the just win section, going to wait for the combinations

Ferrari both points is 1.22, a bit too low and still risky, McLaren is 1.57, for now, the one appealing will be is the the triple for the same driver winning with pole and fast lap combo, but I'll wait for the practice while throwing pocket change at Max taking this and Lando top 3.

Let's look at the weather forecast for the upcoming event in Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article/what-is-the-weather-forecast-for-the-2024-emilia-romagna-grand-prix.6bj26UxnbMhdTWTXSkZS7l

Quote
FRIDAY, MAY 17 – FP1 AND FP2
Conditions: Partly cloudy. Dry conditions likely throughout practice. Moderate southwesterly wind for both sessions. FP1: 24°C // FP2: 23°C
Maximum temperature expected: 25 Celsius
Minimum temperature expected: 16 Celsius
Chance of rain: <20%

Quote
SATURDAY, MAY 18 – FP3 AND QUALIFYING
Conditions: Mostly sunny. Dry conditions expected all day. Light southerly wind. FP3: 24°C // Q: 24°C
Maximum temperature expected: 25 Celsius
Minimum temperature expected: 15 Celsius
Chance of rain: <20%

Quote
SUNDAY, MAY 19 – RACE WEATHER
Conditions: Partly cloudy. Slightly unsettled with a chance of showers, mainly in the afternoon and evening. Light easterly wind for the race. RACE: 23°C
Maximum temperature expected: 23 Celsius
Minimum temperature expected: 15 Celsius
Chance of rain: 40%

As long as there will be no flood then it's good. The Friday and Saturday Practice and Qualifying matches might be all dry but the Sunday Race on the other hand seems to have a higher chance of rain.
There has been no wet weather yet for the F1 race in this 2024 season, this might be the first one if ever rain comes on either Friday or Sunday but it seems like all forecasts I've checked are telling that Saturday will be dry.

Regarding odds, where do you prefer to bet?

With Max Verstappen.

Without Max Verstappen.

Good luck everyone!

It is nostalgic to read your story, for several things, one of them is that era of Alonso, it was incredible, he is without a doubt one of the most charismatic champions in Formula 1, something that Max one lacks.

Max, by the way, I'm not sure, but he has never won the fan-voted driver of the race award.  Smiley

The other thing is, the issue of simulators, they were something exclusively at specialized fairs, today it within the reach of those who can pay for it. Although there are different prices, it can be said that with a small effort any fan can start with a basic one.

Incredible or not, a Formula 1 prize has not been held in Argentina since the last century... But there is noise, imperceptible...  Undecided

Yea it is nostalgic , especially with that Alonso car but I think in general Alonso is a good guy and has a great character but the people around him made him look evil in that period , especially the one with McLaren ( 2006-2007 ).

@rdbase , So true bro. It was a great experience to see SF 21 in live person and the amount of young people and kids that were at that event was insane and I'm glad the new generation is picking up with F1 and hopefully they will turn out to be forever fans of this great motor sport.

I'm so glad to hear that Leclerc has finally got rid of Xavi. Because I believe he is one of the worst race engineers ever in F1. We see that not only in real life, but also in F1 Manager game.

Xavi is just terrible with communication and strategies. I have no doubt Leclerc has also been fed up with him. Bryan Bozzi is Leclerc's new race engineer now. He has been with Ferrari since 2012. He has been working on wind tunnel, aerodynamics and more until this time. I hope that Leclerc doesn't have similar problems from now on.

According to recent news, Domenicali wants more sprint races in a season. Maybe even a sprint race on every race week.

That is some concerning news to hear out of the Ferrari team but probably welcomed since that is were they are lacking this season and in the previous ones.

Ahead of their home race at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola.

Here in Romania we have a weekend dedicated entirely to Scuderra F1 Ferrari and right now you can go and visit the SF 21 car that is being exposed for public view ( without paying any entry ticket ) and I'm glad I went to see this beauty live but also couldn't maintain myself to buy a Perroni because this entire event is being sponsored by them. What I didn't like is the fact they had little things to actually buy ...no lego cars and no hoodies as this was the 2nd reason I went there but overall , very glad that I've saw the car live.

Last time I've went to a such event was back in 2005 with my dad where we were able to see LIVE Alonso's car but I remember my dad has to pay a very expensive ticket because the event was entirely about cars and Alonso's car was the main point of attraction , followed closely by a full simulator of BMW Sauber of Montoya but unfortunately there were way to many people that wanted to try that simulator and my dad didn't have the necessary patience to wait his turn hahaha  Grin Grin Grin
That is some great story to know and a thrill for any true fan of the sport to see in person.
So very lucky you as there are F1 public exhibitions popping up in some major cities around the world from the popularity of the sport grabbing hold and they don't want to left behind.

some little news regarding formula one:

Magnussen is at risk of suspension for his Formula One driving licence, with everything he did last week he lost a lot of points and if he reaches zero he will be banned.

Kimi Antonelli could take Hamilton's place next year, tests will be done during the year and the human benchmark will be Mick Schumacher who is currently Mercedes' third driver.

Lecler changed the track engineer, out of nowhere. The reason is not yet clear
Those are some interesting tid bits of news especially Kimi to me as it gives where Mercs headspace is at with who they might choose to replace Lewis's seat. As you had mentioned, tests will be done first to see where Mick could fit in and who could be lead driver for the team.

This isn't just because of Miami GP, it's within the whole season, right? From Saudi Arabian GP up until now in Miami. He accumulated at least 10 penalty points IIRC. That's close to the limit. We will see how he will do with the upcoming GP.

Punters are really not impressed by the mods on Ferrari, they still see the next race as Redbull turf, a bit ironic if we go back to when it wasn't Emilia Romagna but Imola, anyhow, with the recent flop I think there is a bit of value going against RedBull long term long term if get the same stakes, McLaren is 8:1, Ferrari 10:1, way better than praying on 1.18 that something doesn't go wrong with Max's cars.

Just for fun I took a little bet on a low odd at pilots with two wins, Noris was 2.75 and Leclerc 13, won't be angry for 10$ lost but it just makes you watch it tll the last races with still a chance of winning something.

Ferrari has introduced SF-24.

Source: https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/formula1/sf-24

They have recently been testing the car on their test track, Fiorano Circuit. Ferrari is expected to be nearly 0.5 sec faster in the Imola GP.

In this case I would expect Ferrari to be really competitive during qualifying and race both. Maybe even a pole position can be seen. I would like to see Leclerc doing it. He was really close to Verstappen in the pole position challenge.  Smiley

By the way the changes in Ferrari car can be seen below and the detailed info is here: https://twitter.com/FDataAnalysis/status/1788858662888394982

I think Lando has become a consistent contender and this will turn out a great year for the F1 fans, I think.
It depends. The car needs to stay powerful in the meantime. McLaren brought a huge update to Miami. This also helped Norris a great deal here.

However he is absolutely a wonderful driver. One of the most talented drivers on the grid undoubtedly. He got so many podiums - it must be 15 - until this race but still no win. Finally he took advantage of this chance and got his first career win. I would love to see Norris being a contender for podium all the time but it depends on McLaren to keep up with others in power.

By the way I read that Leclerc wasn't able to drink water during the race because of a system error. Driving a full race without water at 60° and still being on podium is really tough and nice work.
That is critical if Ferrari is having such failures when they have equipment malfunctions causing a driver to not retain enough water to finish a race in the Miami heat. As you can see after the race many drivers were pouring the water from their drinking bottles over their heads. What if that system error affected his breathing during the race?
So Leclerc would have a hard time retaining proper oxygen levels during the race from the G-Force pressure produced by the speeds these cars achieve?

Thanks for contributing some useful information for the rest of us F1 fans that actually care about these facts and not just the outcome for their bets or pool results.
I really do not think that Norris could have gotten a win with that SC giving him such a huge advantage, he definitely won because of that there is no doubt about it.

However, does that mean he didn't deserve it? Of course not, while both the SC being like that allowed him to win plus the new upgrade made mclaren much better, all of that is just shows that Mclaren got the right driver at the wheel when the time hits perfectly. Look at Red Bull, you think they could just put some terrible drivers and hope that they have good enough of a car to win? Of course not, they get the best driver Max at the seat, so does Mclaren, they are aware how awesome Norris is and he deserved the win.

Norris is growing better and better with time as well, he used to be a kid who rushed into things, now he is seeing more stuff and being more mature and I bet that he will win a lot more after this one. Just needs to wait until Red Bull car gets worse or crashes.
I do hope somebody else would win these races every other weekend.
That is including Norris and if McLaren can keep their car upgrades they way they have been, then expect them to win more podiums this season.

Max Verstappen has a 88% winrate this current stretch of races won while in comparison Lewis Hamilton has had a 82% during his best stretch.
Verstappen can win his 60th race this month at just 26 years old while Hamilton won his at 32 and Schumacher at 33.

Poor old Belgrano bill (still legal with a 0.01 usd value, is strange to see one in the street now)

Just imagine this bill when just see the sun in the 1992 was 10 usd of value, and now that 10.000 is 10 usd of value......

It had me thinking about what you said and concluded that any endorsements from F2 of these huge enterprise corporations can only be a good thing towards your countries economy. Being in this global turmoil we are all in at the moment.

Well this is very rare to say but the Argentinian state is in bankrupcy but the Argentinian private sector is very healthy in some sectors. The main problem is the untrust in every, in the goverment in policies in the long term, etc.

And about the ton of cash in local currencie, yes is a problem but also is a plus for the goverment, because for practical purpouse you are gonna use a lot more the credit/debt cards or electronic wallets and all that is gonna be taxed, when if you pay in cash.... here is gonna go by the backdoor.

Well this new about F1 i think it can be good for me as a Argentinian.

Globant becomes partner with the F1.

And you are thinking , why is this good as a argentinian?. Well Globant is an argentinian enterprise one of the so called unicorns and is backing since alst year Franco Colapinto career in F2 alongside YPF (argentinain antional oil company), so MAYBE this can put more solid base to Franco Colapinto to become a F1 driver in the future, he is now in the williams academy..... finger crossed.

Of course, I totally agree. Ferrari had this kind of malfunctions before as well. There has been a long time and they are still unable to fix these problems.  Sad  Maybe Leclerc somehow managed here but this wouldn't always happen. It is risking the health of the driver quite much. Vasseur should warn his crew about the importance of this situation.

You're welcome.  Smiley  I find this kind of details interesting and important too. In the end F1 isn't all about who won etc..

I like the commentators who give this kind of details instead of doing their job plainly.
