In my own suggestion, I believe he best coin to hold now with very promising potentials when the market recover and the price will go higher is bitcoin and ethereum because these are the most valued and most potential coin in crypto.
From January 2018. I bought and hold 8 coins. that is BTC. ETH. XVG. NEO. LTC. GBX. ETC and XLM. I will hold all of them until the end of 2018. The total amount of investment is 25,000$. Hopefully by the end of 2018 my balance will be double or triple Grin.

For me, ethereum and litecoin are good altcoins to hold. And I think neo, stellar and iota are not only have good prices for buying but also good for holding for a long time.

It seems to me that Free cheese can only be in a mousetrap. Of course, if this coin brings you a good profit, then you can keep the purse open and let it dig profits. But if it's a minimum earnings, then maybe it's a waste of time.

It does vary, but right now I'd say Hurify. For several reasons - it fulfils a real-world need, it is in the IoT sector which is great for future growth, and it currently has a tiny marketcap and is only tradeable on obscure exchanges like Tidex.
But the main reason for optimism is that you can actually buy things with tokens in the Hurify marketplace right now. Current HUR prices are way too low - for example you can buy a Raspberry Pi using HUR tokens, and it works out as something like 15% of the price if you bought with $ instead. This is the main reason that I think HUR will see price rises in the near future - regardless of the actual merits of the project, it's a huge arbitrage opportunity.
My favorite coins to huddle now aside from btc and eth are kucoin and Achain. Kucoin because I get bonus when holding the coins and price will keep going up because they do buyback quarterly. Achain because they give rewards for loyal investor and the price is cheap.

I think all coins have the potential and the opportunity to be profitable all we have to do is find and observe from price movements in the market so we will find coins that will be more profitable and decide to buy or hold
Coins could be so profitable when the time for it coming. Some of coins have potential, and some them don't. In an easy way we can try to look at a source such as coinmarketcap. From that site we could see, that there are some kind of rankings they've made. It's decide based of some kind of things such as volumes and others. We could see it as one of many references that is exist.
The first thing I will choose is bitcoin. I still believe in its role and potential. If I want to choose another cryptocurrency, I think it should be EOS, ETH, NEO, ADA!
For me, the coin that I like the best is, of course, the ETH. With the coins, I am often at a lot more profitable because if the ETH has continued to grow some Altcoin I also positively impact so as to join the growing as well. And even if it is well worth the ETH was detained in a long time for the future. But this also depends on the respective with you guys because you certainly have different opinions.

As for now I think it's better to just hold Btc or Ethereum due to the bearish market, holding altcoins might result to loss because the market is not stable, or better still go in fiat, till the market will become stable again
If there is a desire to earn a lot of money, then it is necessary to invest HODL in Ethereum, this is my favorite coin. Last year everything was different, there were more players and the income was higher. This year there are losses, but the profit of many is constantly growing.
Ether is really a good investment. It will be more in demand when the Mining Protocol changes. So buy before this is good advice. I, too, by the way keep the ether in my portfolio 
Yeah, big coins are always good investments but don't forget if you think long-term..
Long-term trading is a strategy and today everyone is holding their coins for the next few months.
