Ronaldo is surely a leader in the team, he is the captain and a legend for Portugal, but he doesn't have to start or play every match if the team are winning without him, he is a role model, so he can also lead from the bench and show a good example, it is surely better for Portugal to win the world cup without Ronaldo playing too much, than for him to play every match and score in each of them without Portugal eventually winning the world cup, Ronaldo knows that, so i don't think he would have any problem with whatever the managers decision is. I feel the manager will bench Ronaldo against Morocco and play the same team that started against Switzerland, he will surely be introduced into the game later, probably with 20 minutes to go, or earlier if the team are losing or struggling.

I too had thought Spain had a shot at reaching the World Cup finals if not to win the finals but I guess I thought wrong. This World Cup, like you rightly said is quite unpredictable as countries generally seen as underdogs are beating their opponents. Lots of teams I thought had a chance reaching the quarter finals have now been defeated and eliminated from the competition. I had voted for France on the thread but I honestly didn’t expect Spain to be out at this stage. This World Cup is unpredictable and in my opinion, that makes it really exciting

I think it just becomes more and more hard to win a world cup in the years and decades to come because nowadays almost every country has pretty professional structures. So in a world cup and also especially in the european championship there are no more those really big underdogs that are losing every game with 0-15 or something like that. Teams like Morocco, Senegal and others of that category are now strong enough to beat every other national team in the world if they have a good day and some luck.
Spain did not show their best performance against Morocco and then they lost unlucky in the penalty shoot-out. Stuff like that can happen.

I just looked at the poll and I voted for Spain too! It was a real disappointment that they were eliminated this way. It wouldn't be so sad if they were eliminated in regular time, but it was not nice to be eliminated from penalties, and to be eliminated after taking not serious penalty kicks three times in a row.
Now that Germany and Spain are gone, other countries have become more voracious. England and France from Europe, Brazil and Argentina from the America are very serious favorites, but we should not forget the other teams. It was a huge job for Morocco, and so was South Korea. The match is beyond expectations if Croatia - Netherlands qualify from the quarter-finals beating Brazil - Argentina, Croatia's chances are still low to beat Brazil based on my analysis because they were just lucky to escape the penalty match against Japan but the predictions could be wrong if they improve their strategy. I doubt the Netherlands - Argentina because the Netherlands has the same ability as Argentina in ball possession and several football game techniques, but my prediction is that Brazil - France is the most dominant for predictions in the world cup final match

I was thinking maybe that Christiano Ronaldo was reserving all the energy to showcase himself in this world compition and this was why he couldn't perform since the beginning of the premier league season, but I'm yet to see that in action. The young player who replaced him in their last games performed more than expected to everybody surprise, it is disturbing to him to think that he will be sitting some of the games out, or not playing enough for him to boost his record. He should not be angry though, if his team wins, it is still considered a win for him, and he will still be remembered in history as a world cup winner, that should be the goal, the success of the National team, and whichever the strategy the coach chooses to adopt in achieving it, Ronaldo should play his role well.
Goncalo Ramos replaced Cristiano Ronaldo position with quite well performance and he was success made hattrick as the first time include in starting eleven, I don't know what happen with Cristiano Ronaldo not really at this moment after Fernando Santos putted him in the bench, actually Ronaldo should priority with national team than his ego want to get regular position always based on many young player have better performance. Next match against with Morocco I hope Portugal starting eleven not change and keep trusting with Goncalo Ramos than give chance to Ronaldo playing at the early minutes. Ramos' being given a chance changed many things for Portugal. He just made a hat-trick in his first proper chance in the World Cup. He was able to play only for a few minutes before this one.
