The timing of the world cup is not in any way a good one. It's unacceptable to see players of this calibre surviving injuries when the world cup is just in a matter of days.

Sadio Mane injured for about a month, no world cup for him and Sengal chances of doing something down the drain. I am sure big Bayern victory yesterday was enough for him to be happy about  Grin
He can be happy about Bayern's win but I don't think is from his heart, missing the world cup because of injury. I do feel for Mane, and the whole of Africa; he's such a representative and a good one at that.

Messi has already publicly stated that this is going to be his last world cup.

This is really going to be an incredible tournament, such a historic moment where many greats will leave.
yes, it will definitely be a historic moment because they are two phenomenal players in this earth galaxy who have won all domestic and european league cups for their respective clubs and have won their own personal records. Apart from all that, they have brought trophies for their respective countries, namely Portugal, the EURO 2016 champion and Agentina, the 2021 CONMEBOL copa champion. Can C Ronaldo and Messi be able to win the WORLD CUP trophy at the "last" world cup title? or the future best player who won the world cup for the second time (Mbappe)? Grin

We have another injury that could potentially make Croatia's Joško Gvardiol miss the World Cup. For now the doctors are still not sure how bad the injury is. We only know that he collided with one of his team mates and that he suffered a concussion and a broken nose. Let's hope he will be able to recover in time to play in the World Cup. It would be a big setback for Croatia if he misses it.

For now, Lucas Paqueta and Richarlison are only on the extended list of football players for the World Cup, and whether they will actually perform depends on their health condition or recovery from their injuries.
From what I have read on sports portals, it seems that Richarlison's injury is more serious and his chances of playing in the World Cup are much less.
Likewise, it is still possible that until the start of the World Cup, another player will be injured, in training or playing friendly or preparatory matches for the World Cup. You never know what can happen.

It looks like the gambling was carried out by Brazil coach Tite by bringing Lucas Paqueta and Richarlison are in the named list for Brazil national team to World Cup, despite have bad statistic for Richarlison without any goals contribution for Spurs in last 9 games seems he still in recovery from injury. I don't think have enough time for Brazil both player can health when World Cup begin. Actually absent several weeks for his team have impact for player its self and they need time recovery how back to top perform.

But have been final decision and my favorite player Firmino not yet in extended list player, whatever later if all named list Brazil national team get injury still not have chance for him back to national team.

I actually agree with you and I don't understand why the coach chose Richarlison, who is still recovering from injury, and not Firmino who has been playing very well for Liverpool for a long time.
Of course, if Brazil, as the first favorite of the World Cup, becomes the world champion, no one will care who was invited and who was not, but if Brazil fails to become the world champion again, then their coach will have a lot to explain to the Brazilian public.
Whether it is a dangerous gamble that will harm the team's chances remains to be seen.

Messi has already publicly stated that this is going to be his last world cup.
This is really going to be an incredible tournament, such a historic moment where many greats will leave.
This will be the 5th world cup for Messi and Ronaldo, only a few players can do that, In my opinion some of the players who might also retire due to age are Luca Modric and Benzema but there is no official announcement yet

I think the reason why there are so many injured players just before the World Cup is because this time it is being held in the middle of the season (at least in Europe). Especially at this time (November, December) football players have to play a lot of games (national leagues, national cups, european competitions...) and it's no wonder a bunch of them end up injured. I hope this will be the last time that the World Cup is being played in the middle of the football season.
This change is detrimental to many parties even though the reason for the schedule change is very good for the national team from cold climate countries.
National teams whose main players are injured will make them adapt to second-line players.
Football clubs whose core players will play in the World Cup can lose them due to injury in these matches.
And as a football lover because there are players who are injured and can't defend the national team, in the end, they can't watch these players play.

World Cup injuries 2022 tracker: List of players who could miss out on Qatar due to injury, with Sadio Mane latest star battling to be fit
the article lists quite a number of star players who have certainly not played and some are still struggling to get fit and play there, with still a few matches in the league as well as other local competitions so hopefully there won't be any additional injured players.

It would be interesting to know if we are seeing more injuries during this world cup than during the previous editions, I bring this up because even if we are talking about professional soccer payers, athletes have a cycle on their performance with the peak being reached when the championships are supposed to be played, the fact that the world cup had to be delayed until November forced a lot of them to change their training regime, and this could be causing the high number of injuries we are seeing prior to the world cup.

Ronaldo has already said that this will be his last world cup and Messi is likely the same given his current age.
Moreover, Ronaldo is now 37 years old, of course there is no chance for him in the next world cup because for the next world cup it means that he is 41 years old and I think even though he is often said to be a robot, it is still difficult for him to take part in the next world cup.

Mike Maignan will skip the world cup, another BIG will skip.

It's not just Maignan's problem... France coach Didier Deschamps is haunted by several injuries to key players, as many are in a very similar situation to Maignan's. Midfielders N'Golo Kanté, who plays for Chelsea, and Boubacar Kamara, who plays for Aston Villa, are also injured, both are out of the World Cup. In a very similar situation is Paul Pogba, of whom I'm not sure he managed to get ready in time for the call-ups and training to be in Qatar.... I need to check the news.

Didier Deschamps announced the squad for World Cup 2022, and some of the key players are missing out due to injury including Mike Maignan, Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante. Lucas Digne and Ferland Mendy have been dropped. Surprise inclusions are Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni. Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane have been included in the squad despite minor injury concerns. Overall, the French squad looks much weaker compared to the one we had in 2018 (the team that lifted the world cup in Russia).

Its a sad one for him and a big loss to the French National team. He’s been a key part of the Ac Milan Scudetto-winning campaign last year, sealing his place as France’s future number one. He picked up a calf injury during the September international break, which kept him out for a month. He was due to return to action for his club side though, the problem flared up again in training, leaving him with a race against time to return to full fitness. Now he’s missed his first World Cup call up. It’s just so sad.

The situation regarding Mane of Senegal is still unclear. Media sources initially reported that the World Cup is not feasible, but according to Bayern Munich, the attacker could be ready in time. We see more often that players do not want to risk the World Cup. Benzema, for example, did not participate at Real Madrid. You just happen to get injured. Senegal without Mane at the World Cup, it might already be a difficult story to qualify and Qatar suddenly has more chance of surviving the group stage.
The news happened to be correct have you checked what his national side are saying already about him Sadio Mane not in the bus to Water is a problem. I don't think he will want to play injured but the news is one bad one I never expected.
Son of Tottenham is also injured he will be absent for South Korea as he hasn't returned since he went for eye surgery. Will they still cope even after his absence in attack. I will try to watch them during the games they will play

Between the two only Messi has come out to say it is his last World Cup I haven't heard of Ronaldo's status yet but it certainly has to be except he pulls a goat thing and goes for another.

Am not happy how top players are missing the world cup because of injuries. The world cup is what comes every 4years. Missing it because of injury is very heartbreaking at this time.

I don't know how Senegalese will feel about this news. Just a few weeks before the world cup, Sadio Mane their key man is injured. This kind of news will destabilize their morale in the world cup.
The World Cup at the middle of the season is crazy. Too many fixtures are actually to blame and these were forseen by lots of people but FIFA decided to still stick to it.

Mane's injury length is yet to be announced by both Bayern and Senegal national team. I hope its not serious because it will be a big blow to Senegal and Africa at large

World famous 2 stars Leon Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will play last in Qatar 2022. The World Cup in Qatar is going to be the last major tournament in the country's jersey for both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best footballers in the world. Because Messi is 34 and Ronaldo is 37. And so it is impossible for them to play in another World Cup.

It's probably their last world cup, but never doubt about these guys  Cheesy
Take a look at Daniel Alves from Brazil, he will play, 39 years old, with lots of great players in his position, but this guy is working hard and will play another cup, it's the 3rd participation.

Ronaldo has already said that this will be his last world cup and Messi is likely the same given his current age.

You are definitely right. This is Ronaldo's last World Cup. Because even if he wants to play, his age will be a barrier in the next World Cup. Because now at 37 his performance has deteriorated so much that he doesn't look like a great player now. Kudos to him for his records.

Nice to see an Asian user  Cheesy
Japan is improving every world cup, it's good to watch their evolution, since Zico helped the development of soccer, Japan is now a team to respect and I'm always curious and I always support Japan.
Unfortunately Japan is at a hard group to classify, with Spain, Germany and Costa Rica. (but remember guys, there's always a "death group" on world cup where big teams lose classsification and a "small" team classifies, surprising everyone)

Japan is one of the representatives from Asia who will compete in the world cup championship stage in Qatar. unfortunately, Japan are in Group E which includes Germany, Spain and Costa Rica. they are in a completely unfavorable group, they have a very difficult opponent to beat. the only equal opponent for Japan, is Costa Rica. however, if we refer to the rankings held by Japan and Costa Rica. Japan is ahead by having a ranking of 24 FIFA, while Costa Rica is ranked 31st FIFA.

Japan will start the match against Germany, everyone knows that Germany is stronger to win this fight. but hope is always there, where Germany's performance did not look good if we refer to its match in the Nations League.

About South Korean, another hard group, not as tough as Japan's group, but Portugal, Ghana and Uruguay are hard to beat.
I remember the 2002 edition when Korea got the 4th place  Shocked
Another important victory was against Germany in 2018.

Yes, an unforgettable moment at the 2002 world cup. which was where there was a lot of controversy. I remember the moment when South Korea defeated Italy, with the final score 2-1. Ahn Jun-Hwan became the hero of the South Korean squad at that time, and another important victory against Germany in the 2018 world cup.

In this group, South Korea seems difficult to qualify for the next round. but as you said, the team that was not favourite at first, might give us a surprise in this year's world cup.

Players around the world are proposing to their wives and celebrating they got accepted in the list of the 26 players to represent there respective countries and you find this funny. How do you expect Sadio Mane to be happy that Bayern Munich won yesterday and he failed to make the list for the World Cup just 12 days already remaining, he should be heart broken please. I am not even happy seeing such for him. Senegal should do well even without Sadio Mane even if he has been a big vibe for hiw far they have gone
