The eliminations of Brazil and Portugal were really shocking to me as well. Brazil had such an amazing attacking line that they could have made it to the final only even thanks to that. But they just wasted so many opportunities against Croatia and its cost was really high for them at the end. Portugal's elimination was also unexpected. They were a really effective attacking team before facing Morocco.
However something started to go really wrong with them. They were desperate in offense in this game. It shouldn't be this easy for a team like Morocco to make them become so helpless normally.

I don't think we have come to the end of surprises in this world cup because we still have two underdogs in the semifinals. Croatia and Morocco are still out to give football fans the biggest shock in the history of football. Morocco beating the almighty France and Croatia winning the powerful Argentine side would add to the surprises we have seen in this world cup. This world cup would become more interesting and strange if Morocco and Croatia plays at the finals, while France and Argentine scramble for bronze. At least one new country would be engraved on the world cup trophy.
you are right - but if we compare the quarterfinal of france and england - and morocco and portugal then definitely Morocco and portugal played real well.

France and England played quality and balanced football. Both teams came out to play they game and the ball possession of both teams were almost equal. But the Moroccans played defensive football against Portugal and the latter was in total command of the game till the end. But the difference was that Morocco was fortunate to utilize the few chances they had and were able to withstand the attacking pressure of Portugal.

I would rather called it as a counter attack strategy , every coach know when they are facing a team that have a better squad they have to go for counter attack strategy in order to keep the chance of winning the game alive which both morocco and croatia have proven it's work! I don't see a clear defensive did by morocco , just look at when they go for attacking , super explosive attacking especially by boufal , croatia might a bit more to defensive counter attack since even they struggling to play against japan till the last match against brazil yeah it's a bit obvious.

These players and this team from Morocco is the best example that knowing how to choose players is the strategy that can make a team look good. I only look at the strategies of some countries like Spain that practically only led Barcelona to play leaving on the outside to a Sergio Ramos and a Lucas who easily do not score goals and would have been valuartes, perhaps Spain would have made another story, just like Portugal leaving a CR7 on the bench, when you know that a star like that should never be take him out of the stadium, use him in every way, but there are technicians that I don't know how to call them, but they still have a lot to know about football, something that the Croats and Argentines don't have, who use their Legends without taking them out like Modric and Messi.

i think the game is over and france has advanced to the semifinals to meet morocco who also seems to be the underdog now, everyone is waiting for the semifinals because this will be a great match in history for morocco to reach the semifinals

Morocco did not use magic to win the two games that surprise people at this world cup, Spain and Portugal that they won them. Morocco I can say took the chance they have and utilize it. They are suppose to win Portugal with more go but fear is still with them. We need to remember Morocco having one of the best goal keeper in the tournament is advantage. As I said before, I'm not a great fan of Ronaldo, but I agree that he deserved more in this World Cup. Almost nobody has been talking about him, and he hasn't had many chances to be the protagonist either because of previous matches he did't play. But, if Messi doesn't win the Cup, he will be ok.
