I admit this is an interesting question...
But honestly, I don't know, maybe that happens because part of the Asian population is not a big fan of football and it's not a very widespread and practiced sport there.
It is not a habit or a tradition of the Asian people, unlike Brazil, that when a large part of the population is born, they already receive a soccer ball as a gift or some kind of uniform from a Brazilian team or even, they already begin to have contact with football at the beginning of school life.
Of course, what I said is just a presumption on my part, but I believe that this may be or may have happened to some Asian countries.
I think you're right.
I followed the Indian national football team a little because they have a Croatian coach, Stimac.
It's obvious that football in India does not have the same tradition or popularity as in other countries.
Very few people play football in India, the league is weak and uninteresting, there are no rich sponsors and finances, there is no media interest etc.
The Indian national team is weak and they have never been close to qualifying for the World Cup.
I think the situation is similar with some other Asian countries.
You guys misunderstood, because football fanatics in Asia are very strong. I admit, I don't know much about Indian football. maybe, in India football is not so popular. but, they have a rating of 106th, not something bad. In other parts of Asia, football is a strong culture, as is the case in European countries or Latin America.
For example, our country, Indonesia. one of football fanaticism that is recognized throughout the world. in fact, it is not uncommon for clashes between fans of one team and fans of another team. Not infrequently too, many cases that claim lives. This shows that the majority of other parts of Asia are football fans.
The problem is the infrastructure, our children don't have a free football field anymore, to go to football school, it's too expensive. Besides, the system implemented is old-fashioned, so we are too far behind other Asian countries. to make matters worse, our national team is ranked 151st. whereas, football has become a part of our culture as well. however, there are many factors that cause football in Asia to lag behind Europe and Latin America. because of that, I always emphasize that other Asia besides Japan and South Korea are not ready to play on the 2026 world cup championship stage later.
