You are right but there's a little excitement if we compared our favorite coins, of course I also believe XRP is good but I have heavily invested on ETH and it's where I put my trust. When the market will growth, they will both grow but I believe ETH will take the lead as I observed, it's very affected and bearish, so it will also have a big effect in bullish.

For awhile, ETH will be back again at the number 2 spot, their marketcap is so close so we can't really judge that XRP will dominate in their ranking battle.

Ripple is always a strong contender for second spot with many international supporting it, it can easily claim back its former position. Ethereum can maintain or strengthened its position with continuous dapps projects and investors' support to beef up its price and market capitalization. I think this two altcoins will continue their tug of war until one of them will give up or lose a significant amount of capitalization in the future.

It all depends on what happens to the price after all the forks. I am sure that until the very last fork the price will rise, and if after that the bitcoin starts to grow, we will get a small rally.
