If you look very closely in the picture, you can see the address where it's mining at. That's the stats for the miner.

Therefore it's mining in KC. If still in doubt take another look at this video (only 2 min. long): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C4bgho5JSI
I do not dispute that. But it is mining. Smiley

Now I'm getting a bit worried about my batch 3 Avalon...

And to think there's members here who are jacking off all over themselves after reading the OP, perhaps ready to order more.

counter point, maybe the video is of Luke's lab to begin with and he had the hardware for a while?

not cheering BFL, just adding constructive argument.

I have to hand it to the swarm of locust over at BFL, for not only did they deliver a miner to Luke half way around the world in two days on Easter weekend, but they shipped him the whole fuckin' lab.

It's 24 gigahash per second it looks. like...
So basically Josh took responsibility for a design that is equivalent to 1 Avalon module system?

I feel a bit skeptical....I think it has to be a put on...or  a joke of some kind.

I find it pretty hard to believe that the Single SC is drawing almost the same electrical power as one Avalon Hashing module and producing roughly the same hashing rate. At 65nm they did that while the Avalon team did this at 110nm.

If this isn't a joke, then man, the ineptitude is all that much more "Epic".

Imagine what the Avalon team will do when they get down to a 65nm process node....

Advertised specs ruins it anyway so what's there to bitch about?

No it doesn't. Little SCs are advertised as 30 GHps and the picture shows an average hash of 24.86, which is 82.7%. And the bet didn't reference all specs, it said 75% of advertised hashrate.

179W / 24 Ghash = 7.5W / Ghash

Avalon is 620 / 65 = 9.5W / Ghash

I would not call this "out perform[ing] any competing products by a very wide margin in terms of power", which was Josh's claim even with the power drain. Unless I've missed something...

That said, still excellent news for those with orders.

As I mentioned previously. Sending 2 units to a software developer that is making software for your product is NOT "shipping".

And as I mentioned previously, the bet isn't about shipping but about a bitcointalk forum post being made, which this one does fit the description except for the niggle about the intended timezone.

Unfortunately for this bet, Luke posted 36 minutes after April 1.

Does the bet specify a timezone?

I think this is going to be hotly debated. The parameters of the bet a the bottom specifically refer to Eastern Time, but the words of the bet do not, so it seems that there is some wiggle room on either side.
