I think this Tottenham owners have been biased against Nuno from the beginning. Especially the Director of football. Why didn't he convince Daniel Levy to give Nuno this money to buy the players he wanted? Now he wants to give Conte £150m. Of course this will help Conte perform better than Nuno. He set Nuno up to fail so he could get his preferred coach. The fans didn't see this. This is unethically wrong. Poor Nuno, he was doing very well in Wolves. Now, these guys have stained his excellent profile. Hopefully another EPL club will hire him and he will deal ruthlessly with Tottenham when they meet again.
You kinda always plan like that. If you do have a budget, you give a bit less money to a coach you aren't really certain about. I don't really feel that Rodgers could have influenced the Liverpool's board the same way Klopp did when going for Van Dijk and Alisson, the same thing is now happening there. Nuno was unproven and was given a chance to earn that 150 mil budget, whereas Conte is a proven winner with trophies behind him and the Spurs board will have more confidence in the players he will choose.
Yes, I agree with you. Conte and Nuno don't have the same profile. Conte is way higher profile than Nuno and thus he can more influence the board to give him more money. And also the board will be interested to do as Conte wants because they know that if they do so, Conte will have a higher chance of bringing success to them. So, I think that this is fairly normal.
, previously Conte was constantly rumored to be the coach of Manchester United, but Tottenham who moved quickly finally managed to convince Conte to coach Tottenham this season, a few weeks ago it was reported that Conte chose to coach Manchester United if he returns to the Premier League, but it looks like the opportunity that Manchester United gave Solkajer made Conte change his mind and choose to manage Tottenham now.
