There are reports that Marseille have reopened conversation with Arsenal to sign Eddie Nketiah. I think £27m is enough to close the deal for Nketiah and Arsenal are willing to lower their price because Nketiah is pushing for the move. Nketiah is a good player. For a team outside England; especially a French team that's not PSG to be willing to part with almost £20m pounds for you, you must be decent.
Arsenal just don't have any use for a player like him anymore, if Arsenal doesn’t sell that dude now, his value will only depreciate further and they’ll have to continue to pay wages to a passenger. They’ll also have more unhappy and dissatisfied guys dissatisfied guys around.
What I saw from the source of Fabrizio Romano was actually Eddie Nketiah was very eager to move to League 1 on the grounds that he had plans to develop his career with Marseille.
He is no longer needed to help Arsenal get great strength but Eddie Nketiah once gained a good experience to compete strongly in League 1.
If we compare EPL with League 1, it will certainly be more difficult to compete in EPL so that it is likely that Eddie Nketiah can get greater achievements because League 1 is not too competitive.
Arsenal should have released the player with a value of 27 million and that is enough for players who are not too productive and my prediction regarding this transfer seems that Arsenal will release the player with a value of 30 million.
For their new level and reputation that they’re trying to build, £25m + 2m realistic + 5m (unrealistic add-ons ) will still sound right. While it's well-known that Nketiah is an academy graduate, meaning any sale would represent pure profit, I still question whether renewing his contract at £100k per week was a wise business decision.
Simply breaking down the numbers, £100k per week over two years (104 weeks) amounts to £10.4 million. Selling him for £20 million would only yield a £9.6 million profit. In hindsight, they should have sold him earlier; extending his contract doesn’t seem to make financial sense to me.
Honestly I feel that Eddie Nketiah shouldn't be hard to sell if we are being truthful. It's a skill issue on the part of the Director of football. if they can't get at least £25m on him , and that's being gentle.
Marseille will build a good team with the young players they’re recruiting. They’ve gotten Mason Greenwood, Bamo Meite, Ismael Kome and now they’re bringing in Eddie Nketiah.
