Life, Love and Laughter...
here is a very nice visual representation of the most valuable transfers on yesterday's deadline day

A. Griezman is the only one who has changed within the league - all the others have also changed the country

Could Griezmann play the striker role?  Cos I thought he was more of a striker than a winger...  And I was under the impression that Barca acquired him as a mid term replacement for Suarez at the time.

Could he have been an option for City?  coinlocket$?  What do you think?

In the last minutes of the transfer window, Chelsea finally managed to loan Atletico Madrid's 26-year-old midfielder Saul Niguez. He played for 41 games in the last season and got 2 goals and 1 assist. He is a good midfielder and I believe that he will be really useful for Chelsea. If they like his performance, they might think of signing him permanently.
Chelsea acquiring a laon deal for Saul Niguez was really a good move. There is a high need to reinforce their midfield considering the consistent injury to the midfielders in Kante and Kovacic. Saul Niguez is a very good player. A very creative and intelligent midfielder. He was played several times out of his preferred position, reason for his less goals and poor match appearance. Saul has long wanted to play somehow forwarded when at Atletico Madrid, something closer to the No.10 position and not been deployed as a defensive midfielder. This is the kind of transfer I want a club to do. Now Chelsea has the depth in the midfield, can switch to any style they want. Hopefully he can be signed permanently if his loan spell is a success considering the fact that Kante will turn 31 by next year.

He is probably signed to back up or deputise kante as a central or defensive midfielder, it's a good addition for Chelsea to strengthen that area considering the fact he is a quality midfielder, Chelsea has UCL title to defend, EPL, FA cup and carabao cup thus plenty of matches upfront, there is need to rest or rotates key players like Kante thus Saul Niguez will surely fill that position, it's good now that Chelsea has better alternative players in every position of the team, thus there is no room for complacency for any first team players because of available replacement.

I'm totally wowed, this isn't what I expected at all, seeing A.Griezman moving back to Athletico Madrid.
I think with he's return they'll be more deadly upfront.

Saul to Chelsea is actually a good move, Kante needs assistance and experience midfielder team up with Jorginho at the middle of the pack... he'll settle down into the team immediately.

Not a bad decision for Barcelona to sell Griezmann to any club, The problem in my opinion is selling Griezmann and replacing him with Luuk de Jong (Sevilla player), this is very ridiculous in my opinion. Are Barcelona out of their minds to buy quality strikers? Even Luuk De Jong didn't play well enough at Sevilla Cheesy
First of all, Barca didn't sold Griezmann, they loaned him to Atletico. Also, Barca can't afford to buy players now, so, they loaned de Jong from Sevilla. I agree that this transfer doesn't looks good, but it's reality of Barca now.
So, what we have in offense - Memphis, legendary Braithwaite, always injured Aguero and Dembele, not good enough for Sevilla de Jong and some kids. Barca fans, brace yourselves, winter is coming.

Technically Barca loaned him out, but logically they sold Griezmann, there's a compulsory clause added for Atletico to buy him next season, which I guess was done so that Atletico Madrid can have further opportunities to buy additional players and remain within FFP, in order words Barcelona sold Griezmann but are not going to get paid next season, something they had to agree so as to rid of his wages as well.

Luuk De Jong seem like a better choice imo, he's more of centre forward than Griezmann is, while the later is relatively not useful on the flank either, but since that can help reduce the situation of things at the club, then it is what it is.

Real was really lucky that PSG turned down their insane offer. Mbappe plans to leave anyway, his preferred destination is Madrid, they will probably sign a pre-contract in January so even if Real has a terrible season I still expect Mbappe to end up there.

A little under the radar was the Camavinga transfer - I think Real would not have had the money for that if they went for Mbappe - so it really turned out well for them. Camavinga is in my opinion one of the most promising midfield players in the game, he'll learn from Kroos, Modrić and Casemiro and I think he'll be a major signing for them in years to come. Really bummed that Liverpool did not go for him.

PSG is going to let mbappe go for free next season. I don't know what they are doing maybe they don't need the money
If they choose to go with this option it will hurt them financially, let's not forget football is a business and the transfer market is one way to cashin big from players that the club has added value on them out of nothing. Let's watch this space am certain they are out there looking for better offers.

They should sell Mbappe to Real Madrid he doesn't want to play for PSG anyone. No point in keeping me there it will prove unfavourable for the club to keep a dissatisfied player.
Man city isn't signing any more players for now. They finally settle for the A-team they have. Chelsea is interested in signing a new center back. I think it will be a good addition for their team.
Some people were analyzing the game that he last scored in (the match that Messi featured in) and said his reaction he exhibited after scoring didn't look like that of a player that wanted to leave the club, I guess these are just rumours being brewed from fans around the world and not that he wants to leave.

Chelsea needed an extra man in the midfield? If somebody asked me I would say they are more than covered on all positions and even have too many players for rotation. Granted most of them are more attacking midfielders or wingers but surly Mount can play proper midfield and they still have: Kante, Jorghinho and Kovačić from first squad rotation, and Loftus Cheek as looking for his chance.

Yeah, ideally they do. Mount cannot play centre mid, both Kante and Jorginho are more defensively oriented. They often play with 3 CM-s and they need at least 5 players in rotation in case of injuries and suspensions, and also so they can rest some of them.

If they play the whole season with 3 CM-s and even if they don't get injured, that would mean that Kovačić, Jorginho and Kante would have to play a huge amount of minutes. They do have Barkley and Loftus-Cheek but I always thought they were a midfielder short - Saul is a player that will not be a drop in quality when he plays.

Now that it seems to be a done deal between Atletico and Griezmann, i must say that it always felt like Griezmann belongs to Atletico and not to Barcelona. He was a goal scoring machine when he played for Atletico, but he wasn't even close to his best shape when he played for Barcelona. Now the question will be how he will be doing next to Suarez. As for Barcelona, i think it will take a long time for them to get back to the level where everyone considers them the number one favorite in the Champions League.

The Barcelona team is losing their strength, while other teams are trying their best to increase their strength. If Atletico Madrid picks Griezmann this season, they will be stronger. And if the understanding between Suarez and Griezmann is good, then Atletico Madrid will win the title this season too. I don't think they will be able to fight for the title if Real Madrid can't take Mbappe to the team.

Is a good move for Barca, Griezmann has a huge salary around 35m€ yearly with taxes if I can recall correctly.
Yes, it is a wise decision because Barcelona has a problem with their financial. In that way, they can decrease a little the player salaries. However, I think the best option should be selling Griezmann permanently. I assume not only Atletico Madrid, but many other clubs want to sign him. He plays not too bad in national team although he never show his best performance in Barcelona. He probably is just unlucky there.  Grin

With Griezmann back at Atletico Madrid its even more sure that they will win the title.Currently they are looking really good and much better then both Barcelona and Real Madrid.Dont forget Griezmann played his apsolute best at Atletico Madrid, the gameplay of Atletico is amazing for Griezmann. Barcelona still trying to cut wages and get some debt paid with this transfer
Barcelona wants to cut wages all the time, so that's what they will do. After rejoining Atletico Madrid, Antoine Griezmann is back together with his former Barcelona teammate. In his time at Atletico Madrid, Griezmann has been very successful. Ayew would have been a great addition to Barcelona. However, somehow I feel the Catalans are missing out quality strikers. We cannot bet straight wins on Barcelona now, as they are weak.

Deadline day signing is over, and Arsenal have taken one at the last minute.According to reports,Arsenal have completed the signing of Bologna right back,Takehiro Tamiyasu who is to replace Bellerin who signed for Real betis on loan. Tamiyasu is signed for around 20 million Euros, plus add-ons .While Bellerin has gone out on loan to Real betis. The player was already tired of life at Emirate, and wanted a move away.
Tamiyasu's signing made it six for the gunners so far this season, which made them spend over 150 million pounds in this current transfer window. They seat at the bottom of the table without a goal, therefore causing immense pressure on the coach Mikel Arteta. After the players blended well together, let's wait to see if they could climb up to the top of the table.

David Luiz is now without a club? He's quitting Arsenal FC and no one has taken him? Something's not right. In his career there were €120 million in transfer fees, more than any other central defender in the world. At the age of 34, the Brazilian is available on a free transfer. His expiring contract with Arsenal FC will not be extended and that was already certain in May this year. There are still 2 years possible to play at a good level.

There was interest from Turkish and Brazilian clubs but he wanted huge contract so he couldn't get what he wanted. I know Beşiktaş was pretty interested in him as a starting eleven defender, they wanted to put Luiz next to Vida and goes to Champions League with that strong defense but Luiz wanted 5 million Euro per year. This is impossible for any Turkish clubs, we can't pay that much money to anybody. It's over now as Beşiktaş got Montero for defense. Adana Demirspor was also interested in Luiz but they have no money for him, this looked impossible from the start.
Now I see latest news that Benfica might sign him. Maybe he will go there as it's clear that he won't retire this season at this age.
There are many clubs interested in David Luiz right now. Last news I have seen said Benfica gave up on him, because he doesn't fit the style of the coacher, Jorge Jesus, who prefers a defensive player with different characteristics (probably different team play behavior).

Hard to know precisely what is happening on the backgrounds right now because there are lots of speculations going on at different sites, but Sporting from Portugal is also trying a contract with David Luiz as are more 3 brazilian clubs, Flamengo, Atlético MG and Corinthians. However I'm not aware about the values offered by the clubs yet.
