If he goes to Barca then Florentino Perez needs sign Mbappe no matter what...And Man City, who are they going to sign as Aguero's replacement now that Haaland is close to going to spain?

I’m hearing City is going for Harry Kane if they don’t get Haaland...  Dunno.  They’re prolly gonna give Mbappe a shot too.  But that’s a long shot.

Yeah. City will try to maintain as many opportunities as possible. They could get in trouble in the next season since Aguero is official leaving the club.
In a previous post of mine I already mentioned that City is also interested in Kane und Lukaku from Inter besides Haaland. I think it is clear to all involved clubs that it is likely to be a real battle for Haaland. Cheesy

It will be just like an auction that was opened by Raiola started with Barcelona, passing through RealMadrid on the same day, and the news says that he will be tomorrow in England to meet interested clubs .so it will be a bidding war and i think that he can be sold for more then Dortmund180M euro asking price .
I do not agree with Raiola actions and his negotiation method, but he is the best one who brings the best deals to his clients .

Don't think so.
Next year he will have a "low" clause of only 75m €.

If they decide to wait 1 more year if COVID situation will be better, they can ask for more money since the fee for the transfer it will be 75m lover than what Dortmund is asking right now.
Laportais not waiting for next year lot of teams are and he promised Haaland that he would be the second highest paid after Messi, and the first after his retirement from the legend .
Despite all the visits that Raiola will do and the auction that he opened for the player, if there is a president who is able to kidnap the Norwegian, he is Laporta .What worries me is only one club, is Man City.
Also Laporta has good relationship with Raiola and it's possible to make the deal to 130M and 50M as add ons.

Now Raiola and Haaland's father is at Madrid to discuss seriously about Haaland's future. Yeah Barca don't have the pocket so I don't think that they will meet the asking price of BVB Dortmund which is nothing less than 150m Euro. Real Madrid could be a possibility and Madrid have sold some players at last window as well so they have good pocket to buy him.

Yea I had read it too, the Madrid part from Internet.
I don't think teams has so much money this year for him, they can only do something like "almost" free loan for 1 year and payment buy in the second year.

@Avirunes this is a masterstroke by Halland agent, and Dortmund because they know that if they don’t ignite a bidding war they won’t get big money for Halland. Furthermore I expect only City to land him, because only they can spend the cash required to buy him.

They do have the pocket big enough to buy him but the question comes are they interested? I know that having him in attack will really bolster the squad and with Aguero leaving having replacement will be good but they already have lot of attacking players. Jesus is playing great atm and he is fulfilling his role so much better that he kept Aguero out for a long time even after he was back from injury. It becomes a really difficult situation for a manager when there are two players at same position and asking a regular playing time. Obviously he can't make Jesus now backup option nor he can make Haaland as one after buying with big tag. They have to keep one then- either Jesus or Haaland IMO.

The anxious wait is continuing for now. I'm still hoping for Messi not to extend his contract and I hope he goes to Manchester City this summer.  Grin
Many rumors came, I read PSG was also interested. Everyone is just guessing, there is no definite news yet, maybe all will be answered when this season ends. If he does go it is good, Barca will be new. Barca will learn not to depend on one player. I think the problem at the moment for Barca is Messi. Barca management must immediately improve if they want to return to being candidates for La Liga champions next season. Selling messi and bringing in new players for the team, I think that's even better. The reason  because Messi is old now.

Barca has no money at all and without help from banks now finally illegal in Spain too I doubt they can spend.

Wijnaldum is still a solid player who is always contributing while on the pitch with a couple of years still to play. His spell at Liverpool has been nothing short of a success. He has been linked with Barcelona for a while, it got so intense in January that I thought he'd make the move. But I think they should get him this time.  Liverpool should be looking at getting replacements anytime soon because the services of Gini  will be missed.  I still recall what he did to Barcelona in 2019  Smiley - sad to see a good player like that leave but doesn't change the fact that we need fresh legs in our team.
Yeah, he is definitely a great player. He has very nice memories here. I don't know whether Liverpool really need to send him but maybe they want to make important changes in their lineup.
I think it is quite obvious that Liverpool needs that salary cap opened so that they could get some other players, it is not about wijnaldum needed to be sold because he is let go free if I am not wrong and they are already not using him in all games, so that means dude just wanted to leave to a team that would use him.

It is not really a great transfer for Barcelona in the sense that they already have too many old players and they should not have one more 30+ year old player on the team, they should be looking to buy some players that would be younger. I think if they could get Kun aguero after City leaves him, that would be awesome for them, would cover that suarez situation very easily next season, yet he is on the older side as well. I do not know really, those two players are free agents and if Barcelona could get them it would definitely be good.

transfermarkt now also reports about the meeting of Mino Raiola and Haaland's father in barcelona

Quote
The background of the meeting: Dortmund’s top scorer Haaland is the player that recently elected Laporta wants to sign to strengthen the team in the summer. His plan has reportedly kicked off with this first meeting. According to Sport, other international top clubs such as Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester United are also interested in the Norwegian youngster. The Times had also reported that Haaland was Man City’s main transfer target for the new season.

They were just preliminary talks, seems though that Barcelona will be in the process of bidding.

That practically means they will let Messi leave, it is a smart move - they should have done that at the beginning of the season.

Still - doesn't mean they will get Haaland. He will have many clubs in better current situation than Barcelona to choose from.
Yeah, it was just a meeting to see are going in the Barca camp. But, remember, according to the last audit, Barcelona have 350 millions in lossess for this fiscal year, but that's taking into consideration Laporta's and the board of directors plan for the next season: renewing Messi's contract + a big signing next summer [1]

So, financially, Barca can compete with others clubs. But, if you think about it, Haaland will get the option to play in Barcelona (arguably top 3 biggest/most important clubs in the world) and next to no other than one of the greatest in this sport, that alone puts Barca way ahead of the competition, imo

Looks like there will be a lot of changes next season for Barcelona  as Laporta told Koeman in their last meeting that he would base his plans for the next season on the presence of Messi.
Laporta would deal a heavy blow to the market, by selling two players currently playing in the starting lineup, in order to finance Haaland transfer in.
Other then Halaand they are targeting free agents like Wijnaldum and Agruero and Alaba if they can convince him joining them competing with Madrid.

Lionel Messi is still making people excited about his situation whether he will be leaving or not. Laporta thinks Messi's voting is a proof that he wants to stay. But Messi still hasn't spoken about what he will do for certain.

The anxious wait is continuing for now. I'm still hoping for Messi not to extend his contract and I hope he goes to Manchester City this summer.  Grin

Messi is no longer a young player and he is aware that the end of his career is approaching.
I think money is no longer the most important thing to him but the ability to continue to win and collect trophies.
If Barcelona can no longer promise him that then he will go to a club that can give him a chance to continue to win trophies and be remembered as the best player of all time.

To promise Messi more titles, they should sign much better players and strengthen their squad. With this lineup, I don't think they will be able to win the Champions League title even if they win the La Liga.

Barcelona has reduced revenues and large financial debt.
That is why it is not realistic that they could buy new players with money this season, but a much more realistic option is to replace players with other clubs.
Return of Neymar or buying Haaland and Mbappe is not a realistic scenario this year.
Whether Messi will be satisfied with this or will he be looking for a new club that has a better chance of winning trophies only he knows.

Damn, Raiola will make so much money during this transfer window Grin

I really don't know why players pick him. I guess he really has good connections and I'd maybe understand players who are unknown choosing him, but superstars? He cares only about his own interests and takes huge fees from transfers that would have happened anyway.

They take him because his history, with him they can do a lot of what they want.
If they want to change a team he will find the way for doing so.
yep this summer will see a lot of movements after a quite summer last year as now we hot a € 180 million for Erling Haaland, it still a lot for a youngster as it's yet to be a merit or maybe a madness. In principle, it should be noted that the evaluation of the players' price is no longer the only weight of the player's level and capabilities to the extent that is determined by the momentum of the football market in the era of astronomical deals since the turning point created by Neymar's deal with his move to Paris at the amount of 222 million euros .
When you notice The Dortmund administration paid Barcelona about 300 million euros for Coutinho and Dembele, 120 million from the Athletic to bring in Felix, and 135 million that Paris paid for Mbappe.
In an abstract vision, Haaland's positive price is exaggerated, yes, but in light of the real situation, given the Norwegian’s age and rapid development, 180 million euros is a realistic amount in a time like this time.
