I have a question regarding Messi.

As we know that, his contract with Barcelona ended some days ago, and he's now a free agent. What happened next?
Is there a possibility of him staying at Barca? Or after his contract expired, there's no going back like what happened to Ramos?

If he's a free agent, Why aren't so many ambitious clubs making a beeline for him? I  mean even at 33, this is Messi we are talking about  Smiley

Official De Paul to Madrid.
Great player amazing prize, only 35.

...

indeed a great player who can now prove his skills with the spanish champion and in the upcoming champions league - he signed a 5-year contract with atletico

Quote
The deal has been in the works for some time and with the conclusion of the Copa América is now concluded. South America champion Rodrigo de Paul leaves Udinese Calcio after five years and joins Atlético Madrid. The 27-year-old signed a contract that will keep him at the Spanish champions until 2026. The transfer fee is €35 million, just below the Argentine's market value of €38 million.

Atletico Madrid's management is one of the best in the world in how to build and maintain teams, after renewing Simeone's contract and giving him a lot of psychological support and full satisfaction with what he offers to the team.
De Paul going to Atletico for only 35 euros! It is a coup and a terrifying gift for Simeone, who loves this type of fighting player.
It can be said that this signing is better than any deal made by Real Madrid and Barcelona until the moment. About a week ago, the team signed the young Brazilian Marcos Paulo to replace Vitolo and will most likely have to sell Saul if the offer meets the club's request to make way for De Paul,
An impressive depth they got in their squad next season, knowing that it did not stop here and the deals Not finished yet.

Nuno Tavares, a young and successful left-back. He left the Sporting Lisbon infrastructure and had a successful season at Benfica. I think he can have a good season for Arsenal in the English league as well. A nice alternative to Arteta.

Would serve as a good backup for Kieran Tierny but did we need to focus on defense backup options really now? I think we need to invest on some one who cam lead the attack and score goals but right now don't see any target as of now. Couple of weeks ago there was Andre Silva rumours which I liked a lot but that also has gone down.

As for Nuno Tavares he could be a good development in future if he is showing potential if Arteta keeps on giving chances in first team football but with Tierny playing good football I don't see much chances would be given.

I do not know much about this guy but Arsenal need a lot more than a change of personnel for me,,, they need an entire new rebranding of their backbone because that is what the team has been lacking for a long long time since Wenger left (although people will say even during his time they were having problems finding backbone).

Not a criticism because my own team Spurs also need one:)

There have been talks on a possible exchange deal between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid during the current summer Mercato.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, this summer may witness a swap deal between the two clubs, between Antoine Griezmann and Saul Niguez.
Its pointed out that this deal is still in the early stages, but it will provide many benefits for the two clubs .
Saul the 26 yo desperately wants to leave Atletico and take on a new challenge, but he is faced with the crisis of the lack of a convincing offer for Atletico while Barcelona, on the other hand, is looking for a midfielder after failing to sign Georginio Wijnaldum, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain. Griezmann is one of the big wages in Barcelona, so the latter does not mind his departure to facilitate the renewal of Lionel Messi's contract.

Unluckily Guardiola seems to love playing without attackers right now.
Even in the final of the Champions League, he played without a number 9 only people from midfield going to score.
Guardiola may think the strategy will be as effective as when he used it in Barcelona previously. Unfortunately, this strategy doesn't work effectively anymore now, many teams already know how to destroy it. Moreover, the characteristics of players in Man City are much different than the players of Barcelona when Guardiola ever used the same strategy. After losing in the final UCL, I am sure Guardiola will focus to sign top CF in the current transfer window.

Arsenal have completed the signing of Albert Sambi Lokonga according to reports, and he is due for medical after being quarantine for some days.Ruben Nerves of Wolves is another midfielder that is also on the verge of joining Arsenal, with negotiations between the two clubs in place as Arsenal look set to add depths to their team as they prepare for next season.

Are Manchester City going for Harry Kane and Antoine Griezmann both? I really started wondering about how much transfer budget they have now. Griezmann's market value is €60m. And I don't think that Barcelona would even think of losing him while they are having some financial problems also. They want to create funds for Messi though but they wouldn't like to lose one of their best players like Griezmann.

Manchester City should look for someone else I think.

Unluckily Guardiola seems to love playing without attackers right now.
Even in the final of the Champions League, he played without a number 9 only people from midfield going to score.

Often the most advanced player was De Bruyne.

I don't think he will change what they did until this now.

Still, whoever the coach is, Messi is and will always be the best player w have ever seen. Imagine he quits, who is going to fill that hole?

Exactly! Guardiola likes this style very much. If we look at the statistics in the last season, G. Jesus was the CF. But he didn't score more than the wingers and the midfielders. He scored 14 goals in total. Only De Bruyne scored less than him (10 goals) but De Bruyne made 18 assists too. And players like Gundogan, Sterling, Foden and Mahrez scored at least 14 goals. There is a really good goal distribution among these players. This is really good actually because City can still win the EPL title with this strategy easily.

But as they want Kane right now, they may be thinking of changing their strategy a little. Because Kane is a striker who likes to score very much. The players around him must create many chances for him to score.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel wants club chiefs to make an "immediate" move to sign Norway striker Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, but the German club are planning to still have him at the Westfalenstadion next season as they are demanding 175m euros (£150m) for the 20-year-old this summer. It seems to me that it is possible for Haaland to stay at Borussia because I am really not sure which club can pay such big money for him?
Personally I do not value Haaland to be worth that amount, the kid is a brilliant player, but for how long has he been on the top of his game, has he actually proved that he is a consistent goal scorer, season in and out, I don't think so, no doubt he is a precocious lad, but any outrageous fee paid to acquire his signature would be a risk; Bourussia Dortmund would want to keep their marksman, and would prolly try to scare clubs away with his price tag, but even if doesn't happen now, sooner or later, he's bound to move to a bigger club.

Manager Mikel Arteta said: “We welcome Nuno to the club. He is a young player with great promise who has developed very well with Benfica in recent seasons and has also shown his quality by being part of Portugal Under-21s. Nuno’s arrival will give the squad extra strength and options in defence, particularly with this energy on the left side of the pitch. We look forward to Nuno’s arrival soon, his integration into the Arsenal family and playing in front of our fantastic supporters.”

Giroud very close to join Milan but not for free as Milan hoped.

Only 2 m, but still. Money.

Source: https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1413176757100949505
What ! 2mil only ?? Couldn't they have done better....

Afaik Other premier league teams could have offered better because going to ac Milan might not get him the game time he would want .

To be honest I would have preferred he went back to France for one last dance because his reaching his end of his career..it would be nice the locals get to see settle in.
I am not sure if it is smart move considering they could have played him as well? I mean this guy definitely worths more and it can help your team as well so why give him away for 2 million? Did he not wanted to play in Chelsea at all? Because if he was willing to play in chelsea then you can use this guy a lot, even if it is just cup games he still deserves more money whereas Milan will probably keep playing him whenever Ibra is injured or even more than him, Ibra is quite old I am afraid so it wouldn't be a shock. I just have to say it wasn't a good deal for Chelsea to sell him.

However I understand that the contract was over and they signed up a bit more to sell him and that is a smart move, that part I can agree with but the reality is that if they kept him they could have benefited from him more than 2 million if you ask me, it was still cheap transfer.

Manchester United lead Chelsea and neighbours Manchester City in the race sign England striker Harry Kane, 27, with Tottenham asking for £100m plus two of the Red Devils' first-team players. A very interesting race, who will eventually succeed and bring Kane to their club?  Cheesy
-snip
They have not only so much money but also are the last champions in the EPL.

I'd love to see Manchester United secure this deal but it probably wont happen if Tottenham is asking for two of their first team players. Tottenham needs to fill the gap for the striker position in case if Harry kane leaves so they are probably asking for Rashford. This youngster could be the next Harry Kane so there is no way United going to let him go

Well Tottenham is pretty greedy though with their terms, asking for one player + £100m  is pretty reasonable but asking for two players is pretty absurd

I also don't think that Manchester Utd will ever let go Rashford. He is a really valuable player for Manchester Utd. He scored 21 goals and made 15 assists in 57 games in the last season. Manchester Utd should be happy about his performance. And he is only 23 years old too. Tottenham should look for another strikers if they are going to sell Kane.

Manchester United are not working on a player swap deal to bring England striker Harry Kane, 27, to Old Trafford from Tottenham. Does that mean Manchester United has definitely given up on Kane?
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are considering a swap deal involving the former's France forward Antoine Griezmann, 30, and the latter's Spain midfielder Saul Niguez. Interesting idea, what do you think of this swap deal?
Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, 49, will snub offers to return to club management and will instead hold out to one day potentially succeed 52-year-old Didier Deschamps as France manager. It seems that Zidane does not want to return to club football.
Karim Benzema, 33, will stay put at Real Madrid even if the Spanish club manage to sign his French strike partner Kylian Mbappe, 22, from Paris St-Germain this summer. Great news for Real.

Dortmund will not let Haaland go without +€100m = mission impossible for Chelsea and very hard even for United and City. Same goes for Kane.
Griezmann rumor to leave Barca is getting intense everyday, it all depends from which team offer more money rather than swap deal.
Zidane is desperate to manage the French national team and this theory is a matter of time imo.
Benzema is a key player in Real Madrid at least for 1-2 more seasons and having Mbappe with him will make RM attack very efficient but back to reality, PSG won't let him move until they get Champions League, they invested a fortune on many players to make something this season, they might lose him for free next season once his contract is terminated rather than letting him go to RM now. BTW Perez has no intention to make pressure on Qataris for Mbappe right now.

I don't think it was an issue of not wanting to play attackers (strikers) and I support Guardiolas decision, those 2 guys were out of form and if you were following City's games to the build up of the final you would agree!
Jesus was wasteful when given a chance to play and Aguero had just come back from his injury
which left pep with no choice but play attack minded midfielders and if I were in his shoes I would do it again.
