It's not just Inter Milan who will do a "clearance sale" on the transfer market this summer. Barcelona and Real Madrid are rumored to be doing the same thing. I think the sale of players with large numbers is not just an age factor but the financial downsizing of the club. Maybe because the club can only play without supporters being one of the reasons. Although they still get advertisements, the presence of fans every game certainly increase the amount of revenue for the club. So vicious the COVID-19 effect makes the team have to work hard to save their finances.

Rumor has been going on for months but I can't speak for any other club except I know us (Barca) will have to be making a lot of painful moves. I think salary will be the most important factor here. Getting Fati to sign on a hard deal then offloading some of the obvious ones. I know some are saying we should still keep Coutinho but that option is off table for me because of finances.

Winning UCL won't change that either, not for a club like Barca, and it's not about downsizing but about trimming the salaries.

I think selling 12 players will be difficult.
Indeed but for the right price, everything is possible...
- Having said that, I'm expecting to see half of those being a loan deals instead of actual sales.

Arsenal are confident of signing Willian when he becomes a free agent.
This might happen "only" if Arsenal wins the FA cup and qualifies for UEL.

Arsenal will spend very little this summer, maximum 30m euros on transfers.
I'm expecting to see at least 60m [without gained money from player sales] + probably a tactic used by Arsenal board for getting their targets a bit cheaper.

- Real Madrid looking to sell over 10 players in next transfer window (source)
As a Real Madrid fan, I am surprised to know this news. I don't think that Real Madrid needs many players to buy in the next season, but yes by selling some players that mostly in bench with high salary will be not a bad idea. Bale deserves to put on transfer list as he cannot play regularly and most time has problems with injury, also he is already 31 years old and not young anymore. James also has the same condition, he is not a young player anymore and has high salary. While for the young players, I think they are better to put on loan list and no need to sell to other teams.

The Italian Tuttosport is reporting about a possible swap deal between Corentin Tolisso & Marcelo Brozović from FC Bayern München and Inter Mailand. The current market value of the 27 year-old Marcelo Brozovic is about €48m, while Tolissos is only about €25m. It looks like Bayern would need to add some Euros, if they are really interested in a deal. Let's see how this transfer develops.

Bayern & Inter could enter negotiations for a swap deal between Corentin Tolisso & Marcelo Brozović. Both clubs are open to selling their respective players. Conte is a fan of Tolisso while a player of Brozović's profile would cover the potential departure of Thiago [@tuttosport]

It looks like Manchester United is interested in signing Kingsley Coman from FC Bayern München. Their main target still seems to be Jadon Sancho, but they can also imagine signing the French winger. Nevertheless a transfer is pretty unlikely in my opinion. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently made clear, that a transfer of Kingsley Coman won't happen this summer.

I guess that Rummenigge and all others dont want that happened that they get Kingsley Coman.
He is a very good player if there is an option that other teams can get them , possible there are more coming and want the player.

Every team on football is in debt but is a financial debt.

Yeb all Clubs struggling a bit on that with all the Cvoid things , maybe that explains why Barca will sell so many players.

Arsenal will spend very little this summer, maximum 30m euros on transfers.
Barcelona and Milan are still negotiating about Emerson. Barcelona would want around 30m euros but Milan plans to offer a maximum of 22m euros.
Napoli and Lille have an initial agreement for the transfer of Victor Osimhen of around 60 million pounds.
The latest reports are suggesting that Mohammed Salisu is about to leave Real Valladolid and move to Southampton for 12 million euros.

^  Yup.  And what kind of squad will Zidane have?  He could build something that doesn't gel together as a team.  Too risky.

And it would be sooo hilarious if Bale somehow stays.  Cheesy

The players that they want to sell don't get together on the first place.
James is going to be sold for sure as he is young and he might want to seek for new challenges. On the other hand, Bale is going to be sold very difficultly as it seems that he wants to get paid and never play a game in the season.

the big clubs like real madrid, fc barcelona, manchester city, psg and others - these clubs do not care about the financial fair play of uefa
they already know how to get around it and they also accept the "small" punishments

and not only fc barcelona has no money - madrid and man city also have huge debts

Every team on football is in debt but is a financial debt.

They want to be in debt to have more liquid money in their pocket.

They ask money to banks with bonds, banks give you money because they are strong clubs and they can repay debts if they will fail.
Banks are not giving money for free.

You understand how it works entirely, that is why big clubs like Manchester united are still owing almost $400m+  despite huge yearly profit turnover. But in my oen opinion all clubs are spending big this summer irrespective of the impart of the pandemic

The quiet clubs in this sunmer transfer business are the extremely broke clubs with more losses.

Barcelona doesn't have enough money to get Neymar, they are nowhere near that level financially so I do not think that it was ever a real thing. People did made that up and people hyped it up as well but it was never a real think if you ask me.

Does it really matter?
Manchester City did a pluriannual fraud and in the end, they got only 10 milions fine...

Barcelona will do the all In for Neymar next year probably with the new election for they president but is it worthy?

You probably need 200 milions and he is going to be "old".

This is the same team that gave up Arthur and got Pjanic instead just to make some financial room for themselves, decade of bad transfers and bad usage of money they receive from every direction resulted with them losing all of that money and tie it to a bunch of future losses in the end, right now they have too much debt because they trusted they will continue to succeed the way they do and eventually make it back but when success doesn't come you spent money you didn't have and it results with financially not being even remotely close to a Neymar transfer.

It seems that a market has just opened in Barcelona and a big sale of players is starting  Grin Grin
Barcelona is preparing to offer for sale these 12 players: Neto, Nelson Semedo, Samuel Umtiti, Junior Firpo, Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, Ousmane Dembele and Martin Braithwaite, plus the returning Carles Alena, Rafinha Alcantara, Jean-Clair Todibo and Philippe Coutinho.
~snip~
Some of the players that interest me are Dembele and Philippe Coutinho, aren't they expensive? This is the first time I've heard a club sell a lot of players. I think selling 12 players will be difficult. This looks strange, they look good, but all can happen when Covid-19 comes they lose a lot of income and financial difficulties and this is one way to get fresh money. If I'm not mistaken they want to buy Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan.
