So,  Mandjukic is free player again.

What do you think,  is possible that he will play again in some strong club in Europe or his time passed?
Where he will go now?

Nah, don't really think so. You don't go to a top club after having a goalless season in Qatar.
I think he'd even be a bad transfer for clubs in the Croatian league in his current state if he would want a big contract.

His ego is huge, he's disruptive to the atmosphere and he wasn't a top player even in his prime.

I'd like him to return to Croatian league, but in a normal role - in which his overblown salary would not halt a club's overall progress.

I agree with you that Mandjukic is very special character but he was top player in Bayern,  Juve and Croatian national team.
Now,  his time passed and I don't expect that he will play in some top club again but also don't believe he will play again in Croatian league.
I heard that some clubs in Russia and  probably Turkey are interesting in Mandjukic.

The problem attached to most real madrid players is not the transfer fee, but the wages; Madrid offer players so many wages that they can prefer to run out their contract than accepting a pay cut. And that is why the Likes of Munich refused to permanent James deal; or Any epl club refusal to take up Bale even on loan. It remains to be seen what happens in the transfer market.

Not just Madrid, most of the top clubs. There are many examples - like Coutinho in Barcelona, Sanchez in United, Bale in Real..
Top clubs spend huge money to win the contract battle for top players and when it doesn't work out, they don't have anyone to offload these players to.

Bale said 'I will play golf in Madrid if you don't need me', knowing they cannot break his contract and still demanding his salary. Which is fair IMO - nobody forced Real into offering those terms in the first place.

The time of big transfers seems to have passed.

Until the economy recovers or until the next boom is arrived,,, of course the time of big money transfers has gone away. Let me tell you even the clubs who have been spending big and not winning things will soon be facing troubles. Talking about Manchester United and Chelsea, or even PSG who never win Champions League.

Clubs don't have to win the Champions League to be rich. For example, Lids will earn about the same, maybe more money just for promotion in the Premier League.
Do you know that is Manchester United in the top there the richest club in the world? they make a profit regardless of the results. only Adidas pays them ~80million annually on sponsor contract.
Chelsea and PSG owners take profits from other business, winning CL is more for reputation than for money. Of course, extra money is not bad for them.
there will be small clubs in trouble, the rich can only be richer in the end.

Yeah, it looks like we are not going to see our yearly 100+ million transfer news for another year. I mean the biggest news I heard so far was Arthut and Pjanic trade which was really silly by Barcelona but I guess they needed the economical relief. Now that it's gone, I think that was the biggest number we would see and that's the end of it.

If the only thing that mattered in that trade to get 10 million more. Why didn't teams just say "arthur worths 210 million and pjanic worths 200 million" and just make it look like they each made ton of profit? Would that be too obvious? Is that really the reason? Because I feel like 60-70 million for Pjanic is already not reasonable, it already looks like just accounting thing and not really a transfer, so I don't know what would be the change.

The German Bild is reporting that Thiago will leave FC Bayern München for sure, while the chances for David Alaba staying in Munich are 50% - 50%:

David Alaba wants to earn just under €20m/yr in the same range as Lewandowski, Neuer & Sané. The Austrian is also flirting with the idea of a new experience abroad. While Thiago's departure is almost certain as he wants to leave, the chances with Alaba are currently 50-50 [Bild]

For who? I don't remember the last time Alexis played a good game, let alone an excellent game and I am sure he has one hell of a lucrative contract. He is also not that young anymore. I am thinking Man UTD is getting the better end of this deal.
He might not be the player he was at Barca/Arsenal but still a decent player for any team in Serie A.
- Having said that, you also have a point so it's a win-win situation.

and a good chance to off load Sanchez who had a bad time in PL playing for both Utd and Arsenal.
I agree with the Man U part but individually, he was great in Arsenal.

What do you think,  is possible that he will play again in some strong club in Europe or his time passed?
Yes, it's still possible but can't see him getting a long term contract.

Some rumors by "ESPN":

  • Arsenal and Napoli after Saint-Maximin.
    - Can't see this happening.
  • Juve consider Jorginho move.
    - Most likely it'll happen.

An interesting question for the Real management this summer?
Real Madrid's moral necessity to save 200 million euros this summer

All football clubs have huge financial difficulties due to coronavirus.
According to this article in Marca: https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2020/07/04/5f00c334e2704ee8a48b45d6.html
the Real Madrid board are aiming to save a total of 200 million euros this summer, with most of that money coming from player sales.
Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Brahim Diaz, Dani Ceballos and Mariano Diaz are the most likely to leave.
The time of big transfers seems to have passed.

The question is if they get 200 millions from selling these listed players. The prices has dropped a lot. You can see this in the recent Leroy Sane transfer. One year ago the price was between 100-120 million Euro for him. A few days ago, Bayern bought him for around 50 millions.

When Real manages to find interested clubs for these players it's not about the transfer earnings. It's mostly about getting them off their payroll list. Bale for example costs Real Madrid £18.5 million a year and James Rodriguez
£10 million (https://www.sportekz.com/football/real-madrid-players-salaries/). Both don't really have a perspective at Real but it's hard to find new clubs for them because they have such high-paying contracts.

Transfer rumours:
Chelsea have restarted talks with Willian, they want a new contract.
Everton are keen to re-sign John Stones.
Tottenham have rejected a move by Juventus for France midfielder Tanguy Ndombele
Arsenal are favourites to sign Thomas Partey
Manchester United s willing to wait and be patient with Jadon Sancho and will not pay more than £50m.
Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/53287301
I don't think Chelsea will give out Williams to any club at the moment, he is the backbone of the club, William style of play brings more success to the club because he was already good at former club in Ukrainian side Sharkter Donersk. William would not disclose or rather reject any new contract.

If real Madrid will ask for him and pay a lot then of course they are going to sell him.
Hey is a good player but I will not say that he is not irreplaceable. If they get good money they are going to sell him immediately.

Ronaldo was sold to Juventus for something like 100 mil when he was 33, but it was before coronavirus and Ronaldo is physically in much better shape than Messi - he always was.
For players like Cristiano, Messi, 100 million isn't a big deal provided that how much fan they have. Juventus had sold 5,20000 tshirts within 24 hours of release with name of Cristiano, worth of $60 million although Juventus will be receiving 10-15% of the revenue- https://www.cnbc.com/2018/07/18/juventus-sold-over-60-million-of-ronaldo-jerseys-in-just-one-day.html
Nevertheless, Messi is still fit for another couple of season.
