Financial Fair Play is a joke and can be exploited like Manchester City did for years, as Barca and Real did for years.
Like Juventus probably did last year.
It can be easily exploited to get a player on loan for more than 1 year and pay a big check after few years.
If they can have Halaand on loan for 15m/year for 4 years for example and a 50m check in the fifth year they need only to put 15m in the balance as expense each year till covid will end.
As far as I know, UEFA wants to reform the fair play system because of pandemi, and therefore it will be even easier for super clubs to joke about this topic Wink In any case, the super clubs will have to cut costs and I think a big clean-up is expected in the summer. Although of course this does not apply to the transfer of Haaland, and the clubs will try to carry out the transfer in any case. I think Barcelona is an outsider about this transfer because of the club's sympathies for the player and his father, and the Catalans will have to offer more money on the contract for the successful outcome of the deal.

Immediately afterwards, he probably traveled to England to get offers there as well...

Im not really following anything about club's financial stuff but the only possible team in England that is in desperate needs of strikers and probably has the cash to land Haaland's signature right now is probably Manchester City. Aguero is going to leave the club so they will need another player to fill that spot.

Its either Haaland or Kane for Manchester City right now but Kane most likely stays with Tottenham

If they can have Halaand on loan for 15m/year for 4 years for example and a 50m check in the fifth year they need only to put 15m in the balance as expense each year till covid will end.

Haaland's agent probably want one big chunk of money instead of this kind of deals though, we might even see another record breaking transfer. Its understandable considering Haaland is on the radar for alot of top clubs right now

I found an interesting article about Haaland and Barca. Cheesy

What looked like an April Fool's joke actually seems to have been meant seriously.
Haaland's agent, Mino Raiola, traveled to Spain yesterday to conduct negotiations with Real and Barca. Immediately afterwards, he probably traveled to England to get offers there as well...
In my opinion, this is very unscrupulous and reminds me somehow of a cattle market.

But the fun fact about his visit in Barcelona is that Barca can't afford Haaland in their current financial situation.
Nevertheless, it looks as if they will try until the end or will not give in so easily in the fight for him.

I will link the article as source, very interesting to read.  Smiley

Haaland to Barcelona? Cash-strapped Catalans risk selling their soul to pay for superstar striker

The striker's agent and father visited Camp Nou this week to discuss a summer transfer, but the implications of the deal are troubling
'Erling Haaland's agent has arrived in Barcelona for transfer talks with Joan Laporta' - it felt like an April Fools' Day joke, and a lame one at that, given it was so unbelievable.

How on earth could Barcelona afford to sign the most in-demand striker in world football, when they couldn't even stump up €3 million (£2.7 million /$3.6m) for Manchester City reserve Eric Garcia in January?

It made no sense. Yet, on Thursday, footage quickly emerged of Mino Raiola and Haaland's father, Alf-Inge, being collected at Barcelona airport ahead of a meeting with Laporta and his emissaries.

I never really liked families of these players being involved with these things. I get that families are a big part of these young players life but when you are talking with president of Barcelona and a players father, that sounds as childish as it gets and as unprofessional as it gets.

I think we should have managers and presidents talking and nothing more, of course player himself could talk as well that would be good, but not family members, not father, not uncle, not nothing. Of course this is their own choice and I am in no position to say anything about it so I will not be saying I know what they are living, I can't even imagine what they are going through, so I think it is quite understandable but I think it is still quite difficult to have something like this no matter how serious they are about helping their family members.

Well, I don't call it Childish.
Take Halaand for example, I think you are talking about him.

Dortmund didn't pay him only 45m € they paid him 90m €.

IF I can recall correctly they paid 45m for the player + 20 m € to his father +25 to Raiola.

With all the Haaland's news buzzing around, I wonder where are Manchester United now? Some says they are still considering him as a target while others say they have gotten over it. 180m Euro is a big tag and that is a very tough target to beat for any top teams right now in this situation. There are lot of players going out of contract so there is gonna be huge decisions going on inside the team management about potential targets and Haaland with that price tag feels like most of the teams are gonna go with other players likely. Same I feel as for United, they didn't have the pocket last year and this year too.

Raiola already said he will probably not sell players to Manchester United again as he did with Real Madrid with Florentino Perez.
They need to make an offer they can't refuse otherwise he will not even talk to them.

Also Manchester United already has 2 your strong young striker like Martial and Rashford, I don't think they have so much space for 3 young "bulls"

if I remember correctly, MU already talked with Haaland before they joining in Dortmund. Maybe they made a deal then, some kind of pre-contract.
Lol do you also remember when Salzburg ask manutd to pay €20m for Halland? But no!! they can't pay that much they  turned to Daniel James the marathon merchant, Dortmund with the finest scout went in and pay, today halland is €150m and manutd fans feel manutd can pay such amount  Grin... You can't afford Sacho at €120m but you want to buy his team mate.... What a pathetic club and fans

Barca for sure can't compete here, they have already asked players to agree to cuts salaries.
Halland agent met with Barcelona and Real Madrid yesterday, they are the front runner right now, besides Bacelona is richer than manutd so why can't they compete?

Whatever, but Borussia Dortmund is a marketing master. It is great at finding gems but also knows how and when to sell them. Look at dembele at barcelona. He is a total dud not even worth 30% of the price. But the germans knew very well that this player is not that mentality for such a price !

The anxious wait is continuing for now. I'm still hoping for Messi not to extend his contract and I hope he goes to Manchester City this summer.  Grin
Many rumors came, I read PSG was also interested. Everyone is just guessing, there is no definite news yet, maybe all will be answered when this season ends. If he does go it is good, Barca will be new. Barca will learn not to depend on one player. I think the problem at the moment for Barca is Messi. Barca management must immediately improve if they want to return to being candidates for La Liga champions next season. Selling messi and bringing in new players for the team, I think that's even better. The reason  because Messi is old now.

Barcelona will learn not to depend on one player in time for sure. Because even if Messi stays at the team, he won't be playing forever in the end. But the thing Barcelona want is benefiting from Messi until he retires. I guess he could continue playing until the age of 39 or 40.

Since this season still running, everything can be happens in last minutes transfer window.
I would be happy if Haaland was right at MU. Maybe he will replace Cavani. Cavani's contract will expire next summer, he only got a one-season contract with United. At 34 years old, he is already facing retirement. It is reported that Cavani has spoken with the United boss, Cavani is not happy living in Manchester he wants to be close to his family and play for Boca Junior.

This is really a smart move from Haaland's camp. I think it is with Dortmund's blessing as well, since next season he can go for only 75 mil.

It's better for everybody involved if the deal can happen this season and from what I've heard Haaland and his representatives are flying to England for talks with english's top clubs as well.

Nothing concrete so far, just preliminary talks so they can see what these clubs have to offer - both in contract and in project terms.

I have read a rumor, the #1 EPL clubs wants Haaland is Manchester United, if their representative going to UK, so MU may have better opportunity to get Haaland. But, there are several clubs wants him, Madrid and Barcelona maybe can tackle MU in deadline with better offer. Since this season still running, everything can be happens in last minutes transfer window.

if I remember correctly, MU already talked with Haaland before they joining in Dortmund. Maybe they made a deal then, some kind of pre-contract. If MU sell Pogba, they will need a superstar for marketing I guess Haaland maybe can achieve that. And for sure, they are rich and had the money for this transfer.
Barca for sure can't compete here, they have already asked players to agree to cuts salaries. But I think they are deliberately inserted into speculation of Haaland transfer, just to keep the reputation of a big club.

Laportais not waiting for next year lot of teams are and he promised Haaland that he would be the second highest paid after Messi, and the first after his retirement from the legend .
Despite all the visits that Raiola will do and the auction that he opened for the player, if there is a president who is able to kidnap the Norwegian, he is Laporta .What worries me is only one club, is Man City.
Also Laporta has good relationship with Raiola and it's possible to make the deal to 130M and 50M as add ons.

You maybe forgot this. Barca has more than 1 billion of debts and they need to pay a part of them this year.
They are still paying last session transfers like Pjanic to Juventus and more.

I doubt they can spend 150m € while they still need to pay last year's deals.

If he goes to Barca then Florentino Perez needs sign Mbappe no matter what...And Man City, who are they going to sign as Aguero's replacement now that Haaland is close to going to spain?

I’m hearing City is going for Harry Kane if they don’t get Haaland...  Dunno.  They’re prolly gonna give Mbappe a shot too.  But that’s a long shot.

Yeah. City will try to maintain as many opportunities as possible. They could get in trouble in the next season since Aguero is official leaving the club.
In a previous post of mine I already mentioned that City is also interested in Kane und Lukaku from Inter besides Haaland. I think it is clear to all involved clubs that it is likely to be a real battle for Haaland. Cheesy

It will be just like an auction that was opened by Raiola started with Barcelona, passing through RealMadrid on the same day, and the news says that he will be tomorrow in England to meet interested clubs .so it will be a bidding war and i think that he can be sold for more then Dortmund180M euro asking price .
I do not agree with Raiola actions and his negotiation method, but he is the best one who brings the best deals to his clients .

Don't think so.
Next year he will have a "low" clause of only 75m €.

If they decide to wait 1 more year if COVID situation will be better, they can ask for more money since the fee for the transfer it will be 75m lover than what Dortmund is asking right now.

Now Raiola and Haaland's father is at Madrid to discuss seriously about Haaland's future. Yeah Barca don't have the pocket so I don't think that they will meet the asking price of BVB Dortmund which is nothing less than 150m Euro. Real Madrid could be a possibility and Madrid have sold some players at last window as well so they have good pocket to buy him.

Yea I had read it too, the Madrid part from Internet.
I don't think teams has so much money this year for him, they can only do something like "almost" free loan for 1 year and payment buy in the second year.
