Barcelona recently made an emergency signing of Martin Braithwaite and even unveiled him. The transfer window has been long closed. Was the deal an exception or La Liga has different rules that can allow making signings outside transfer window?

I really wonder why Barcelona signed Braithwaite.
He is not a key player right now and there are a lot of young talents in the team that can help the team in a cheaper way.

Barcelona has not had any plan or strategy for a long time, everything is happening spontaneously and without a plan.
The sports director and the best player of the club are arguing in the media, and in the panic they bring players of dubious quality.
I'm afraid there will be complete chaos in the club if Messi leaves the club, what is not impossible.

It was a special circumstances exception granted to Barcelona. Should not have been allowed if you ask me.
Here is some more info and opinions in my post from the other day.

Board of Barcelona is a big joke. They have signed Martin Braithwaite from Leganes for €18 million. Ok, is something understandable, Barca urgently needed forward. But he signed contract for 4.5 years with €300 million release clause. Are they f**king serious? Especially when Barca had their own players like Carles Perez, Abel Ruiz or Rafinha, but sent them on loan. They are probably isn't worse than Braithwaite. I'm not even talking about other wasted academy talents like Adama Traore who didn't got chances in Barcelona.
And last time I thought that transfer of K.P. Boateng is something strange...
I'm only sad for Leganes in this situation. They last their main player and didn't got chance to sign someone in place of him.

I am casual Barca supporter and their behaviour in the last months makes me quite sad. That is not how one of biggest clubs in the world should behave. This is just last incident from club leadership that totally lost control.

They invoked some legal technicality and took one of the most important Leganes players while Leganes is struggling to fight for their place in La Liga next season. I am quite unsure how this was allowed in the first place. That sort of opportunity to grant clubs ability to sign players outside of transfer window should be granted only in dire circumstances like when that Brazilian club lost almost their whole team in plane crash. Certainly not when 2 attackers get injured in top club. That is just bad transfer policy. Dembele is almost always injured and Suarez has quite a few years under his belt, surly serious club can guess they will miss some matches.

As you already pointed out, Barca has some quality jung alternatives as well. What sort of message this sends to them. Go away and find some club which will believe in you, if you ask me.

Could make sense, or what do you guys think? In my opinion Thomas Tuchel would fit Bayern, but Hansi Flick is currently doing a pretty good job. I am sure, if he wins at least one trophy (preferably the league or the champions league) I don't think that Bayern will look out for another coach. Any people here, who can tell us something about Thomas Tuchels standing in Paris?

Bayern are still closely monitoring the situation of Thomas Tuchel. Bayern and Tuchel are in constant contact in the perspective of a potential cooperation next season with the German manager increasingly isolated and under pressure at PSG [@lequipe]

So Sterling was saying in some interview that he's open to a move to guess what...  Real Madrid.  I guess it's time to move on.  But I think he should've stayed at LFC (same with Coutinho).  They left when the club was struggling.

I would reeeaaally respect Aguero if he stayed at City throughout the ban.

Players with 6 months left on their contracts can sign pre contractual agreements can’t they?
Other than that yeah, we will have to wait until the summer to see firm rumours. Agents will be having discrete meetings with prospective buyers now but we won’t hear about this.

Exactly, only they can sign for free with a new team.
The others cannot "officially" talk with other teams.

I mean officially cause just look what is happening with Pogba, I'm pretty sure Raiola is already moving his people for an exit strategy.

@tokeweed - I think the ban could be reduced to 1 season but it won’t be dropped. UEFA are going to look so stupid if the ban gets dropped, they’re fighting for their own self respect. It’s their flagship competition, they can’t lose this battle to City & I don’t think they’d have taken it this far unless they had loads of indisputable evidence.

True true...  And UEFA prolly anticipated that City would be doing everything in their power to get the penalties reduced.  Hence the two year ban (anticipated to be reduced to a year.  Smart!).

I got information from YouTube, which discussed this issue. That Manchester City has provided 50 international lawyers for this problem. If the city wins the case, what we think is UEFA. Because the public will think the accusation is not true and UEFA's reputation will be questioned.
I don't think City can escape the ban,  what I think UEFA will do is to either reduce the ban to a year  or to remove the $33 million fine  from the punishment,  they wouldn't wanna tarnish their reputation by reversing the ban, it will show clearly that they don't know what they are doing,  if they try to reverse it

Yup.  But Ferran Soriano seems determined to fight the case tho and try to get no ban and fine.  He's basically saying they're innocent and did nothing wrong.  I guess we'll have to see.

Manchester City officials are leaving nothing to chance and it’s true that they have appointed world best Lawyers who’re working on their case right now, and therefore I won’t be surprised if they escaped the ban completely and didn’t even pay a single dollar in fines to UEFA. It’s pertinent to note that this ruling shall be very important as all other clubs will be keenly watching it, and they’ll too break UEFA rules and cite this case as a precedent for breaking the rules so let’s hope justice is served and City’s appeal is turned down.

We need to wait for the end of this champion's League elimination round to ear more rumors.

Remember only players with their contract expires on 30/06/2020 aka on the next summer session are allowed to talk about and with new teams.

A player under contract can't till the end of the season, do you remember the Griezmann's case?

Griezmann was a special case i think.
He left Atletico Madrid without having any allowance to do so and he violated the contract.

The German journal Kicker just published another article about Dayot Upamecano, but it basically only summarizes the rumors that were published by Bild and other newspapers last week: FC Bayern is still highly interested in signing Dayot, but there are also some other English top clubs that might be interested. In my opinion Dayot would perfectly fit into Bayerns squad, but his €60m release clause is too high. Lets see what happens..

Sell them to their closest rival in the Bundesliga table? There is now way that would happen especially if you think about how Upamecano could help destroy them. Also RB Leipzig isn't known to be a very active team on the transfer window, they pretty much try to train and develop their own players just to save some money and win games and not to profit from them. So if they are really willing to depart with a player like Upamecano I don't think that it will be from their rivals but to another league like in the Premiere League where his name has attracted both Arsenal and Tottenham.

Bayern bosses know that they have to strengthen the central defense and ideally want a van Dijk type of CB (tall, robust and can physically strengthen the back line in the air and on the ground). Dayot Upamecano has a similar profile and is attracting Bayern's interest [Kicker]

Bayern have deposited their interest in Upamecano a long time ago without concretizing it since then. The Frenchman has a €60m release clause in contracts and a number of English clubs are also interested in his services [Kicker]

Have anyone of you guys seen Samuel Iling-Junior (16) play yet? From what I have seen on social media his performances look pretty strong. Looks like almost every top club in Europe is interested.. Bayern, PSG, Schalke, Ajax, what do you guys think? Who will sign him? Or will he stay at Chelsea in the end?

Chelsea face a battle to keep hold of rising star Samuel Iling-Junior (16) with Bayern, PSG, Schalke and Ajax chasing his signature. Iling-Junior is out of contract at Chelsea this summer and his suitors know they could land him for a minimal compensation fee [@footyinsider247]

How do you rate an article by the Sun? I am not very familiar with the truth of this source. I know the Sun is gossip, but how accurate are their football news?

Chelsea starlet Samuel Iling-Junior, 16, wanted by Bayern Munich and PSG in latest England star eyed for transfer abroad

Chelsea starlet Samuel Iling-Junior is reportedly set for a stunning move abroad with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain both interested. Football Insider also claims the likes of Ajax and Schalke are keen on the 16-year-old winger as he approaches the end of his Stamford Bridge youth contract.

Today i discover some of interesting rumours

- Iniesta linked to Barcelona and the rumours says
Barcelona will attempts to get him back this summer

- 75 million pounsterling is the money which provided by
Bayern to get Firminho from Liverpool

- Manchester United considering to bring Kalidou
  Koulibaly from Napoli

All three transfers sound like quite stupid deals from my perspective.

Barcelona has more than enough midfielders, if they need something it should be to add strength to attack or maybe defense.

You don't pay 75M million to get a bench warmer for Levandowski. Firminho would be stupid to accept that anyway.

United defense is not so bad, they need more creativity and world class striker. Why spend a big chunk of your budget on defender?

It has now been confirmed that Ziyech is a Chelsea player
Source: https://twitter.com/AFCAjax/status/1227926942122414081?s=19
good to hear chelsea got Ziyech and Ajax fast move on https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1228533087342034945 , set to sign Antony from São Paulo as replacement Ziyech.
Just out of Curiosity, how are Chelsea still able to make signings? I thought they were serving a transfer ban that could last for at least a year or am i missing something?

Anyway Ziyech will be a great addition to a side full of promising youngsters. Lampard will probably need 2-3 more years to realise if Chelsea is headed for the right direction.

Chelsea agreed a pre contract details with both Ajax and Ziyech and unless some terms go wrong, its a deal
Chelsea did the same when they boughta Pulisic from Dortmund.

It's a transfer master stroke
