Messi can leave Barcelona for free. Where he can go? Probably not in Spain/France/Germany.

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/barcelona-transfer-news-lionel-messi-contract-gerard-pique-spain-a9094516.html

Italy or England my guesses, Juve with CR7?  Shocked
Probably back to home, Argentina  Grin or Chinese league just like his former colleague Andres Iniesta. After achieving all with Barcelona i don't think Messi will be looking for new challenges like Ronaldo did... I just can't help but think that he will just go back to Argentina otherwise if he was to move to another of those top 5 leagues in Europe, he would have done it already. Honestly, He has nothing else new to prove or win in Barcelona.

Just heard Juve wants Van Dijk from Liverpool this summer.  But it's hard to take that seriously knowing that they want Pogba too for big money.

This is fake news 99%, Juventus don't have all of that money.

They can have the money only if they can sell DeLigt (clause 150m €) but if they sell him I doubt the will spend so much for a 28yo boy.

As expected there weren’t too many major deals in January, it’s not a good time to buy players. Teams don’t want to sell players mid season.

You may be right, but Barca is terrible at such business. They rarely sell players for more than they bought them. Player just can't gain value when siting on bench, or not evfn being in squad list. When I saw this transfer, some worst Barca transfers instantly came to my head, like Douglas or Keirrison.

Yeah here in Italy is a common thing,  a big team can manage like 20+ of these operations year to earn much money possible.
For the only factor to be on a big, the player earn value.

Also Barca bought Matheus Fernandez from Palmeiras for €10 million. Strange transfer for me.

Well this can be only one operation for capital game, I mean a lot of team does this kind of operation when they buy players for few millions and they sell them after 2 years to earn 2-3 millions.
When they do 10-20 operations like those, in the end, is a +20-30 million and if one player will explode even +50 without any risk.

It's an investment on the short term.

In case someone couldn't catch all the signings yesterday, here are some of the most important (in my opinion) transfers during...

Ighalo (Shenhua) to Manchester United.

Since I'm not that familiar with other names mentioned, ighalo deadline deals was the most surprising deal of them  all and it got the whole sport (football) enthusiast in Nigeria talking. Twitter NG was stormed with ighalo fc discussions all through the night/this morning. Nobody expected the deal to be finalized, we all thought it was one of those transfer rumours just to hype prayers. Sadly he has already quit his international career as this would had boost him the more (playing for a repute club like Manchester United).

Ighalo has always put in his best irrespective of the club he players at. Hoping Manchester United toxicity doesn't affect him and he can shine as his counterparts Ndidi (Leicester) and Iheanacho (Leicester) are currently performing in the premier league. This deal just made him the first Nigeria to play for Manchester United. Can't wait for his debut.

FAK I forgot to make my picks!  I thought I already did them when I did my Majestic 7 picks.  Sad((

I think I still would've gotten LCFC vs Chelski wrong tho.  0 - 1 now...

Edit:  1 - 1...  I hope that holds or goes 1 - 2 if one of them really has score a goal.  Grin

Edit:  Wow...  And for the record my pick would've been 2 - 1.  Sad((((((

I think you posted on the wrong thread Cheesy.

Anyway about Pogba, with the money saved from salaries for Emre Can, Pjaca, Perin, Manzukic, Allegri and the money for the sells, Juventus have now the money for Pogba.
Will they try to get him in the summer season?

Matuidi can now sign for a new team for free.

In the end, the Emre Can operation turned out to be a €1 Million loan deal + a €25 Million obligatory purchase at the end of the loan contract if certain results are achieved by Borussia. The official announcement doesn't mention what those results are and what exactly was agreed.

Another Juventus player left the club. Marko Pjaca has been transferred on loan to Anderlecht.

You guys remember Piatek? He was supposed to be the next Lewandowski, he had a really good season in Genoa, top teams wanted him and eventually he arrived at AC Milan...That was a year ago ago, but now i just heard the news that he signed a permanet deal with Hertha Berlin [1]..so strange.

In other news, Manchester United keen on Salomon Rondon [2]. That would be a great signing for them, even if it's just a loan for a few months. They need a proper striker, and Rondon proved to be a decent player back then when he was playing for The Magpies.

2. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/manchester-united-target-salomon-rond-n-after-krzysztof-piatek-move-fails-sjd906skm

I think Piatek move to Hertha was good,,, I actually do not follow any of the games until I saw his pistol celebrations and he looked like such an exciting player.

I guess he moved partly because Zlatan came to AC,,, so many strange moves in my opinion especially all the guys from England going to Inter. He would have been good at United too bad.

Giroud will maybe join Lazio.

I heard that Inter is also interested in Giroud.
It makes me wonder who a player in the age of Giroud is still a player that top club want them in their team. I think that Lazio is a better choice than Inter as he might have more time in the line-up on Lazio. Inter has better strikers and he might end up on the bench.

Barca have signed Francisco Trincão from Braga for €31 million, but he will join Barca just after end of this season. I haven't seen many Braga games, so I can't tell anything about him.
Also Barca bought Matheus Fernandez from Palmeiras for €10 million. Strange transfer for me.
Yannick Carasco returns to Atletico, he will be on loan from Chinese club.
Kevin Prince Boateng moves from Fiorentina to Besiktas on loan.
Diego Laxalt returns from Torino back to Milan.

We don’t have long to wait, today is deadline day. The Emre Can transfer interests me, he will hope to do well there. I’m surprised at how much of a flop he was at Juve.

To be honest he was not so bad, last year he did a good year with Allegri.

The problem is Sarri, he decided on him, he cut him from the project, from the Champion's league squad.
From there the only solution was to sell him, 30 milions is a good price for whatever wants to buy.

In the end, was a good operation for Juventus too, he has been paid 0 but with another coach his price could be 40-50m.
