Why Man. City should force themselves to sign Messi? If the price looks crazy, I think it is better to evaluate the plan and consider other players. Yes, Messi has been 33 year-olds, it isn't the golden age for a football player. Actually, Man. City already have many wingers, why they should buy Messi? They are better to focus on buying a center forward striker, I see only Aguero is at the position. Why not consider buying Mbappee, H. Kane, Dybala, or Haaland.  Wink

Because they could afford him? Aside from that, Both Messi and Ronaldo are superstars in Football therefore any team that sign them will be getting alot more from all those official merchandise , shirts etc. That also means alot of Messi's fans will start to watch Manchester City, getting more impression for the team each time they play

I mean who wouldnt want to watch Messi play on Premier League? Even if you support another team on Premier League, you will still want to watch Manchester City . I definitely want to eventhough I am supporting Manchester United  Tongue

I really liked van de Beek in Ajax's run to the CL semis last year. He really is an interesting player but I feel that he won't really fit in that United midfield.
I wonder how they plan to put Pogba, Fernandes and van de Beek together - Pogba and van de Beek behind Fernandes? Doesn't really breathe defensive stability, they all prefer the same zones and neither is a tempo dictator.

Maybe they will find a way for it to work but it's not a player I'd target for Man Utd.

Pretty sure they will be rotated.  United is finally back at the UCL and they'll need Van de Beek's CL experience.  And for the price they got him for, it's a fair deal, I guess.  But only his performance, what he puts on the table will really be the judge.

I hope to see good things from him at the EPL.

Anyway...  Any Messi updates?  Cheesy  It's the same stuff over and over again.

$250 million for the signing and a salary of $100 million per year for a 33 year old Messi.

Report: Messi clause invalid, free transfer possible - €250m signing-on fee?
...
Messi is said to have already chosen the City Football Group as his next destination. As Barcelona-based newspaper Sport reports, a highly remunerated five-year contract beckons him in the event of a free transfer. Messi would play the first three years with Manchester City and then move on to MLS club New York City FC in 2023.

$250 million for the signing and a salary of $100 million per year for a 33 year old Messi. Offered by ManCity, a club that almost got convicted for breaking the rules of financial fair play ... This must be some kind of satire  Grin

And Messi refuses to go attend the Barca medical tests and trainings. What sweet irony after Dembele and Griezmann did exactly the same to force their transfers to Barca.

Another loss for Ajax,,, they should still have enough quality to win their league but they really need to get more Champions League glory to keep their stars, or find a way to make the league more competitive so that players feel they are playing in a tough league. Netherlands does better on international stage now but it will be many more years to get to a stage where people WANT to go to Ajax and not leave it.

They still have Neres, Tadlic and still Tagliafico. I am wondering how newcomer Antony will do. Ajax have great pre season matches so I am excited what this season will bring.

Shick from Roma to Bayer.

He was a young talente player but he lost himself, maybe he will find a coach for him there.

Van de Beek was to sign to Real Madrid, i think, last season.
I wonder if he made the right decision by joining Manchester Utd as there are many clubs that are interested in him.
Also, Tagliafico is said to leave Ajax possibly he is going to join Chelsea... Let's see.

VDB to Manchester United for a low price, what do you think? wasn't Real interested on him?

Too bad for Ajax but I think for Dony it's a good choice. I think he would play lot more at MU then in Real Madrid.

Let's hope for Ajax they can keep Tagliafico and Onana.

I think there shouldnt be any problem for Messi tranfer deal cause I read that the Man City are planning to implement a "Messi tax" procedure on Messi transfer deal which I believe was purposed to settle Messi tax problem. Correct guys if I'm wrong here.

I also read that Messi would also become an ambassador for the City Football Group which mean the deal will push through sooner or later.

if it's true that Man City are planning to implement a "Messi tax", the tax problem must be very mind-consuming for him all this time.
then, one of his biggest consideration to leave Barcelona is because of this tax

UPDATE:
Guardiola has been spotted in barcelona.

Guardiola traveled to Spain happened last week Tuesday if i could remember correctly and as I read he went there for more preparation for Messi leave.
In the meantime, lets wait and see what happen in acouple more days.

With the appearance of Guardiola at Barcelona to me it is increasingly clear that Messi will move to Manchester City in the near future.
Regarding Messi's tax problem, Manchester City will definitely be resolved if it is true that Messi moves to Manchester City. We'll just
wait for a few days there will definitely be official news regarding this matter.
Messi set to leave Barcelona. Continuing put pressure on the club to let him FREE move, make the procedure more faster he didn't turn up for COVID testing, even not training today. I respect his decision, the club should to do as well. Yup, it's just matter of time Messi moves to Manchester City.
Youre right but it seems hard for the club to let him go because Messi is already like a family to the club and I think hell still play for the club until is deal with Man City is total complete since his €700 million release clause is still accurate.

Yep, every player has the right to move or stay. As Messi seems to feel better moving than staying in Barcelona, everyone must respect his decision. We cannot blame that Messi leaves the team when Barcelona is in crisis. It is not the mistake made by Messi, he has done everything with his best. Let him go if he really wants to move. Man. City is the right place to go, he will be an important player there. Moreover, he will cooperate with Pep Guardiola again. It is a perfect plan.  Smiley

Aguero removes "10" from his Instagram page.
from @KunAguero10 to @KunAguero.
is this the same thing as Juan Cuadrado who gave Ronaldo his number 7? lol

https://www.sportbible.com/football/news-fans-convinced-messi-deal-is-happening-after-aguero-change-20200827

maybe spain will help Barcelona to make messi stay.  Grin
they don't want to lose their income from messi's tax, after they lost it from ronaldo.

Iiinteresting.  He's prolly just having a beer and teasing his followers tho.  I mean did something happen that increased the probability of Messi's move to City?  I've been scouring for info...  There's nothing.

If this news is confirmed as correct, Barcelona no longer has a way to keep Messi at the club:
''According to El Larguero, Leo Messi would not have to pay his 700 million euro release clause as he is already in the final year of his contract. ''

Source: https://www.marca.com/en/football/barcelona/2020/08/30/5f4b7553268e3eaf078b457c.html

And La Liga has just confirmed that the 700 million buyout clause is still valid. If that's the case, I don't see City or any team paying such a ridiculous amount of money. And god I will miss these daily hourly news-updates about Messi and Barca once this transfer period is over.

E: And it seems like Messi also missed his medical tests at Barca today.
