Barcelona should pay Messi a ton of money just because of what he has already done for the club even if not on what he could do.

Yes he is a superstar, yes he is one of the best players in the world even at the age of 33, and yes he is the only player in Barcelona that can change the whole game very quickly, but a team may not want to give a 33 year old player a 4-5 year contract, I can understand that, even if it is Messi we are talking about.

However when you consider all the things he has done for the club, if you remember the sextuple that they had, Messi made this team from La Liga giants to world club that will be super famous even after he retires, so he deserves a big pay even if he doesn't end up playing, you pay Messi what he wants even if he doesn't show up to games, it is Messi we are talking about.

Inter Milan can be calm because the purchase offer of Alexis Sanchez has been approved by Manchester United. Especially if it is successfully
realized Inter Milan can get Sanchez cheaply for players as good as Sanchez, Manchester United sell cheap because they want to reduce
Sanchez's salary is too big.

Isn't the contract of Sanchez ending this summer?
I thought that this is the case and having said that they are going to sign him on a free transfer.
If they are not signing as free agent then it is good to sign him with not so much money for alleviating their position in financial fairplay.

Of course they cannot get 100 million for him, not even close. He's still the best player in the world but he has 1-2 more seasons on a top level and has no resale value after that.

Before the FFP rules some clubs with mega-rich owners would have bought him as a statement signing but a deal like that would be impossible to do without damaging the club in the long term.

If he goes, it will be at the end of his contract on a free transfer or at the beginning of this season for maybe 50 million - even that would be huge money for a 33-year old player.

Ronaldo was sold to Juventus for something like 100 mil when he was 33, but it was before coronavirus and Ronaldo is physically in much better shape than Messi - he always was.

If I was barcelona, I would look at the Real Madrid method. If you sell Messi right now he could still worth something, and yes I know the loyalty aspect of the situation makes it a lot harder and that is why even considering a sale of Messi by Barcelona sounds unreasonable, if you are spending 30-40 million dollars on useless players, it makes no sense to sell messi for even 100 million because he worths a lot more and fans would ask "if we needed 100m, you shouldn't buy all those useless players". However what is done is already done and if they can somehow get 100m for Messi and also not have to pay him, they could build a very rich future for themselves as well with all that extra money and open salary position.

@AakZaki @masulum Messi is not going anywhere, and this is his tactic to gain a long term contract at Barcelona, and along with the new contract he wants more power in the club hence he’s doing this drama. Also let’s get realistic at 33 he’s not young, and therefore no club will pay him the big wages he so craves for, hence I’m sure that Barcelona will be able to retain him beyond the 2020 - 2021 season.
It's none but a rumour I guess. I have shared my thoughts in other thread as well in this issue. Messi won't be leaving Barca. It's drama or whatever. But I can't agree that no club would pay him big wages. Cristiano too joined Juventus at the age of 33; Messi is still having good performance. So, if he wants, he can join some other club too with a big pay certainly.

33 or not, he's still playing brilliant football and any team would have him - if they could afford him, of course. There are definitely teams that can (City and PSG as frontrunners because he won't consider Real of course), United could pay him as well but somehow I feel he wouldn't go there at this point in time.

If he decides to go, he'll have his options. And those options will come from the best teams.

Speculation related to the future of Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi is still a hot talk in recent months, his contract which will end in 2021 makes the Argentine continues to be linked to the club's exit.

It was rumored to have started opening negotiations at an early stage with the Barca president, Josep Maria Bartomeu and will sign a contract until 2023, now La Pulga is said to have changed its decision.  reported by AS English, he has stopped discussing new contracts and wants to immediately leave Camp Nou at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Maybe he was not too old to play in La Liga, Serie-A, EPL or other major Europe League, even he was left with Free Transfer, clubs will be hard to pay his salary. I think he must allow clubs to pay him lower than in Barcelona. Or maybe he can play in MLS with high salaries. But, for  football players with 33+yo, mostly will be out from Europe and came to America 😬

Remember they also make expensive transfers, So that definitely affects the club's revenue on top of salary demands by most of those signed players. The players they try to sell off lately don't cost as much as the costs of those they buy unlike other clubs that can afford to sell off a player at a high price and not spend the immediately

To my opinion such transfers will become less expensive. After this pandemic and crisis that will follow football will transforn too and the costs will reduce. Of course, not over night, not for all players clubs but slowly we will witness the changes, nothing will remain the same.

After the Sané-deal it doesn't look like FC Bayern München will also sign Kai Havertz this summer. Bayer Leverkusen seems to be still asking for more than €100m for Kai Havertz, which is pretty high IMHO. Let's see what happens. Thiago might leave the club and that could change things.

A Kai Havertz transfer to FC Bayern this summer is highly unlikely. The club doesn't want to take financial risks. However, more transfers on a smaller scale are possible. In addition, Sergiño Dest is not a high priority for the club [@Plettigoal]

If Sane remains healthy, it will be a steal. He is a great prospect and still young, he will fit into this Bayern team really well.

It seems Bayern will sell Thiago to balance the books and some journalists are reporting that he already agreed a deal with Liverpool. The price is quoted at around 35 mil. Euro and would be a great signing for us.

Borussia Dortmund buys again. their policy of giving young players a chance obviously works. Bellingham signed 5yr deal.

"BREAKING: Dortmund have agreed a €23m fee with Birmingham for 17-year old Jude Bellingham. The midfielder will sign a 5-year deal. (Source: BILD)"

as far as I know, some other big clubs (Manchester United) were interested in this player. he obviously chose a club where he would have more time to prove himself. if they do not sell his best players, maybe we can expect competitive team in battle with Bayern Munich.

Barcelona bad transfer habits doesn't really mean that they didn't earn the revenue talked about, they did earned that money, sadly they just spent it wrongfully. Thats basically a team problem, they do have great scouts but those scouts are usually for young kids they could develop, las masia is still one of the best places you can find players from, if you are a third world nation and you send scouts to la masia, any player barcelona and other teams do not sign you can check and at least get a week long trial so that you can get your team better.

However when you have a youth system like that, it causes the team to overspend on other stuff, they have hundreds of millions of dollars in income and that means they will buy anyone they want for any price they want. Plus from what I learned from playing football manager (I know its just a game but I feel it has some valid to it) if some third league team has a good young prospect and as a bottom of la liga team asks for it, the player will be sold for 5 million at most, if the same player is wanted by barcelona its 30 instead. When other teams deal with a team as wealthy as Barcelona they ask for more money from them for the same player than they would ask from any other team.

Sad, Hakimi is now a Inter player.
Real however have an option, if an offer comes to Inter they need to talk to real and they can tie the offer and get the player if they want.

The career path of Achraf Hakimi ended with Borussia Dortmund within two seasons, because he finally officially moved to Inter Milan.

Previously, Achraf was reportedly going to move closer to his original club, Real Madrid, after the loan period ended.  However, he refused because he was reluctant to become a coating of Dani Carvajal.

In fact, Real Madrid will not easily repatriate him to the Santiago Bernabeu after being claimed will not have a buyback option for the 21-year-old player.
