It has nothing to do with being stupid on Liverpool's part. The only thing they can do is offer him more money than Real Madrid will offer him.
I think my previous post makes it clear what I refer to by "being stupid". But yeah, if they fail to get any money out of him then it's a huge mistake. I wonder if their transfer team failed to account for interest from other clubs hence why they don't sort out his contract situation asap. While we don't know the full details behind the scene I think it's fair to say they're being stupid if such things happened.

He is world class and he has the attritubes that Real Madrid is watching out for. Could be a promising change for him.
Yeah, it's hard to see him fail in another club. That being said, good players who want to win trophies and move to other clubs aren't always successful. Let's see where he will end up.

Sorry but I still don't get it. If a player signs a 5-years-contract and that contract one day is due to expire and the player refuses negotiations altogether or rejects any offer being made, what options do you have despite being the smartest club in the world perhaps? If Alexander-Arnold's dream is to play for Real Madrid, smartness doesn't get you anywhere. There is only one way and that is the Saudi Arabian way: offer him 50 million a year. But they won't do that because that would entail a lead by example situation that teaches other Liverpool players how to squeeze the club like a lemon in the future. You have to have thresholds that you are not going to cross, no matter who the player is.

Pep and Ancelotti are two great coaches who have recently been much discussed regarding their future with each team, they are much talked about about contract extensions and for Pep he might still be able to stay with Manchester City but for Ancelotti he is indeed old and is unlikely to last much longer in the future.
For Pep himself, I still curious about how it will continue whether he will be Manchester City coach in the long term or one day leave and be able to coach another big team like joining Real Madrid when Ancelotti decides to retire or leaves the coaching seat there.
Manchester City will have hard time finding coach like Pep if he leaves and when Real Madrid can get Pep then that is good news but what about Zinedine Zidane who is also rumored to be able to replace Ancelotti.
Is age one of the factors for the coach to leave the team?
Now we think again as long as the coach is still contributing to the right strategy and creates good performance, even though he is old, he will still be maintained. So that Ancelotti life will not be a problem as long as it can still provide positive results for Madrid.

And the next statement about Ancelotti who will leave and the empty seats that will be filled by Guardiola, will not make sense.
In logically Guardiola contract will end in the 2025 season, while the Ancelotti contract period will end in 2026. Well, it is impossible for Guardiola after the contract is running out he will only wait for the departure of Ancelotti and of course there is another team that offers Guardiola offer.
I feel that performance and contribution level to the team is what decides that a coach has to go and not necessarily the age. So long as a coach can keep a viable technique on the pitch and produce good outcomes, age bias will disappear, apply to Ancelotti at Real Madrid. However, the scenario when Guardiola can wait until the non-renewal of Ancelotti’s contract, is not reasonable since the coach of Guardiola’s caliber will always attract the interest of many clubs who would be ready to approach him when he is available. As the schedule in the contracts in two teams are not corresponding to each other, the possibility to see such change remains low, more so if the topcoaches tend to seek new projects according to their goals and without waiting for the change of other coaches.

I am sure Manchester City will continue to keep Pep on the team. He has a long-standing bond with the team and it does not seem like this bond will end easily. Xabi Alonso is a manager who has a close bond with Real Madrid. He loves them with all his heart and he can leave as soon as an offer comes, but whether Ancelotti will leave the team is a big question mark because he has a contract and I do not think he will leave the team.

The question I asked myself about this Pep replacement is that who is going to be his replacement. Xabi? Where is Leverkusen staying this season or they want to use a season to hype him so he can get to a better place? Nobody, I repeat coach right now in any European team that is good as Guardiola right now because with Haaland or not, his impact can't be forgotten in Premier League and the way that club is, they don't kick players anyhow not talk of the coaches.

If Manchester City keeps winning the trophy even if it's not back to back but win a season and skip a season, they will not change him unless he decides to leave because nowadays it's even difficult to see a coach that can do that, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool are still struggling to win just the Premier League and no Champions league for long time but Guardiola has done that in recent years.

Apart from Pep Guardiola that if he agrees to coach Real Madrid, they're going to be an unstoppable force due to the qualities of players that they have currently. But I don't think Peep Guardiola will ever betray Barcelona to coach Real Madrid therefore Ancelotti can't leave yet although the Brazil teams needs a manager of his quality. He should stay more years at Real Madrid and develop the current squad into a more stronger team. After he has done that then he can decide to pass the role to a new manager. Having a new manager now can make the team to scatter as the new manager will want his own players that he trust to play according to his style.
Pep Guardiola is currently in charge of Manchester City and there are rumors that the manager may leave Manchester City for another club, but it certainly won't be Real Madrid. Pep Guardiola's strategy is different, he changes the team ok but he takes charge of a team that has a lot of potential and a team that is trying hard but can't succeed in a major tournament. Real Madrid is already a big team and a manager who can easily win major tournaments for this team will definitely not want to take charge of this team.
Ancelotti is already in charge of Real Madrid and has been rumored for a long time to move to Brazil but he has extended his contract with Real Madrid.

At the end of the current season, it will be seen whether Ancelotti extends his contract with Real Madrid or signs a new contract with Brazil.
The lastly rumor that is developing Pep Guardiola was linked with the England national team, but the issue disappeared after the FA appointed Thomas Tuchel as their new manager. With his contract at the Etihad approaching its end, Pep Guardiola has not given any certainty regarding his future, whether he will stay or leave. Another option, maybe the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager will decide to take a break. Besides that, in my opinion, because of the rivalry and respect for his former club Barcelona, it seems impossible for Pep Guardiola to dock at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Every manager has their own characteristics and standards in choosing a club they want to coach, in general they choose because of the emotional connection and the suitability of vision, apart from the amount of salary offered. Regarding Ancelotti, his contract will not end until June 2026

Pep is very careful to answer questions about his future without giving the slightest hint, leaving only rumours to talk about, which in the end are not confirmed. After so many years as MC coach it seems to me that either he will extend his contract with the team in the end or take a break in his coaching career to take a break. Coaching such a big team all the nerves will be spent for such a long time

It's already been confirmed by Juventus that Paul Pogba will leave the club as a free agent.
Yep. I've read on some articles related to this news. In January, Pogba will be available as a free agent player. So, any team can sign Pogba with no transfer fees. This is good for Pogba, they will be easier to join any other club with a free agent status.

Personally I feel leaving Juventus will help Paul Pogba achieve more in his last years as a professional footballer than remaining in that club where he was when he received the ban that kept him out of football for the last two seasons.
He actually has no choice because Juventus can't tolerate for doping abuse case. So, leaving Juventus is the only way for him. IMO, leaving Juventus isn't something bad if he can join a better club. This is just a chance for him to get a new experience in a new club/team.

Now, he'll get the opportunity of joining any of the elite clubs in Europe as a free agent~~~
Of course, he gets the chance to join another European team or he can join Saudi league. So far, I read there are 5 teams interested in signing Pogba. They are Real Madrid, Al Ittihad, Man United, LA Galaxy, and RC Strasbourg. Currently, I also heard a rumor that Arsenal also joins the competition to sign Pogba.

You say that he deserves to play for several season. I am not so sur about that, guy caught cheating and now got lucky that they reduced his penalty. As for European clubs potentially willing to sign him, then it's rather a tier two team. I doubt that any of the top teams would be willing to take him under contract ~~~
You can check this article, there are still some top teams interested in signing him: https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/it-serie-a/2024/10/real-madrid-transfer-news-five-clubs-that-could-sign-paul-pogba. Any player may make a mistake but they can change his habit. I'm sure Pogba gets enough lesson. He should try to have a better habit and focus again with his career. So why not if he still has the intention to play for the next few seasons? He still has a proper ability as a good midfielder.

Xabi Alonso to Manchester City could be a big risk, he had one good season with Leverkusen, and people are expecting him to be a star coach that can replace Pep Guardiola, by comparison, Pep Guardiola spend decade at Barcelona winning everything, and then a few years at Bayern Munich as well, so he was ready to take on Manchester City, and even with that, it took him so many years to finally get UCL, he won Premier league multiple times before he got to UCL.

So, we can definitely assume this is going to be very tough on him to be at some club but Xabi would not be good enough just yet. I mean we have seen Vincent Kompany have a terrible season and then be hired by Bayern, which makes even less sense, but I believe nobody should be doing something like that. Xabi needs more time, looking at this season, Leverkusen doesn't look all that great, doesn't look terrible neither but not great, so maybe just because of last year there shouldn't be talks about hiring.

I think you forget that Messi is now 37 years old and plays in the MLS. Even if Argentina wins the Copa America, I don't think Messi will have a significant contribution to it.
In fact, Messi had contributed a lot by helping his club to qualify for the World Cup. He has even carried his club against Bolivia, that's also the reason for Scaloni to always put him in the main squad. And if he doesn't contribute, he won't start for Argentina.

Look at Inter Maimí's results without Messi - with the current squad, his absence was completely unnoticeable. A league like MLS can be dominated by a few top players from Europe, it's just a fact and Inter bought one such player for each line.
And let's not pretend that in a sport like football, shows and brands don't matter. Messi is a big brand and will be milked for a long time, although as a player (top level) he finished in Barcelona.

Now the choice is only on Pep whether he still wants to stay at Manchester City or look for a new situation that he might want to pursue because looking at his achievements so far, Pep is actually one of the successful coaches for this decade as a coach because Barcelona, Bayern and Manchester City have proven that he is one of the coaches who is very capable of doing more as a coach.

It's just that in this case vulnerable time may be a thing that of course we know that it is part of the journey because if you look at Pep's previous coaching, Manchester City is the longest club he has coached so that when he really wants to leave and look for a new adventure because he is considered to have had enough of Manchester City then he could have left even though Manchester City tried to hold Pep.

In terms of quality both of them are nothing different, both are always enter Champions League and have a chance to become a champion.

I guess he would join Real Madrid because he was once a player and he's a Spaniard too, so it's a win-win situation.

If Manchester City not able to get Xabi Alonso, don't worry, at least they can get Ten Hag. Cheesy
I also think that if Xabi Alonso leaves Leverkusen he will definitely go to Madrid, because it is his first team. In fact, the other day he said that if Madrid needs him he will go immediately, and that is something he would not think twice about. Therefore, I think that it is unlikely for City. If Pep leaves City, wow, it would be difficult for them to get another coach as good as him. In the case of Ten Hag, lol. Don't wish people ill. Lol.

I think that even Cit would not let Pep go, since he has created links with his players, they understand each other very well, all that weighs in.

The situation is now 50/50 as no conviction can really be held given that speculation is still ongoing. Liverpool will obviously try to keep Trent at Anfield but on the other hand of course we know that Madrid's target is difficult to escape because sooner or later when Madrid is serious then any player they can get.

By looking at this situation I think the scheme is that Madrid will try to approach but Liverpool will try to extend the contract, the drama will not be much different from Mbappe but it will not be too protracted because Madrid and Liverpool sometimes do not like long dramas for players.

I still expect Trent to be at Madrid for the future because seeing from the potential and now the position of right-back which does need regeneration, of course Trent is very projectable for the future of Madrid to replace Carvajal and Vasquez.

Alexander Trent was linked to Real Madrid, and like you, I think he won't stay in Liverpool anymore. He is a good player for Liverpool, and Slot wanted to keep him for a longer time. However, he refused the offer to extend his contract with Liverpool and decided to avoid extending it, which shows that he wants to leave.
Also, he got an offer from Real Madrid, and maybe this is why Alexander Trent didn't extend his contract—he is interested in playing for Real Madrid.

The situation now is actually a little difficult to predict because although there are some rumors about Trent with Madrid or Slot saying that the players will not be disturbed by rumors like this but we also don't see any movement or statement from Trent because we don't know if he will stay or want to leave.

Talks about contract issues may have been carried out even though it was closed and not read by the media but on the other hand when there is a desire for Trent to leave then I think Liverpool should try to make some choices especially with his contract expiring at the end of this season.

Indeed everything is still 50/50 for Trent but I think when he does not want to extend the contract at Liverpool then as much as possible they have to move quickly because it will be very regrettable when he leaves but is a free agent player so Liverpool do not get a penny from players who have potential like Trent. Don't let what happened to PSG for Mbappe happen to Liverpool when Trent leaves because that is an act that I think is quite stupid by letting quality players leave on a free transfer.

Some updated news from BBC

Ciktor Guokeres is monitored by Mancehster City, Haaland replacement?
Xavi wants Raphinha following him to Manchester United if he goes there.
Antony could be offered back to Ajax even in January on loan.
Real Madrid is planning an offer to Alexander Arnold, free agent next winter
I'm not sure there is a player who can replace Haaland at Man City, Ciktor Guokeres will not get much playing time while Haaland is on fire like now.
Will Xavi coach Man United? I still remember when Raphinha under Xavi had many setbacks, and now Hansi Flick has restored what was lost. So Raphinha will stay longer at Barcelona.
I feel a little sorry for Antony, maybe his abilities can be developed if in the hands of the right coach. Both are from Ajax but Erik Ten Hag does not treat Antony like other Ajax players at Man United.
Trent Alexander Arnold is the puzzle piece that Madrid really needs in the winter to complete a slightly porous back line, not only as a defender he can go further to sharpen the attack.

I thought Carlo Ancelotti would retire after leaving Real Madrid, but the Brazilian National Team would be a great opportunity for him. Winning a World Cup with Brazil could make him one of the greatest managers in history. Looking at Brazil's squad, you can see they have fantastic players, so this is not an impossible goal.
Brazil is like PSG, they have many quality players like other top teams, but it's still not enough and they never won Champions League.

It's hard for Brazil to win Copa America or World Cup, I guess they need to wait until Messi choose to retire from national team. However, Brazil will also lose Neymar, despite he's still 33 years old, but he will retire early due to poor habit.

Neymar is the last Jogo Bonito, his contribution is as big as Messi.

I know that Brazil hasn’t been successful for a long time, but Carlo Ancelotti could change this situation. I think you forget that Messi is now 37 years old and plays in the MLS. Even if Argentina wins the Copa America, I don't think Messi will have a significant contribution to it.
Nobody plays against Messi and not be scared, despite his age. At age 35 he won his first world cup against France who has lots of young players yet we still saw how impactful his presence was to the team. Messi is the kind of player even if he comes in as a substitute he still has a lot to add to the outcome of that game, moreover we know that the other Argentinians players are putting in their possible best because of Messi.

Antony could be offered back to Ajax even in January on loan.
The best decision to be made, considering Antony has not not proven his worth in the club, clearly playing in the Premier League is not for every player. Maybe, he will perform better like he did while he was there, returning on loan still will not give him any playing spot if he returns, i am sure he will be sold  as soon he returns.

Real Madrid is planning an offer to Alexander Arnold, free agent next winter
Arnold is a great player, a move to Madrid best fits as an upgrade for him creating further history by adding more trophies to his cabinet.

Ancelotti is getting old and I know that he will retire soon from coaching which I know that Real Madrid is his last club to coach. If he leaves Real Madrid will still get a good coach to manage the players and they will surely get the best because they are rich and they are alsothe most successful in the history of football.

Although it is only a rumor, becoming a Brazilian coach is something that cannot be guaranteed to happen even though we know Ancelotti as a great coach now. At 63 years old, coaching a team like Brazil is very difficult because the challenges require him to use extra thought considering the big name of Brazilian football. Plus, Brazilian players are identical with games that prioritize individual skills.

I think it would be better for Ancelotti to make Real Madrid the peak of his professional coaching career.

Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich are reportedly competing to get FC Koln goalkeeper Jonas Ubrig.
He is a talented young goalkeeper owned by Germany, Munich has so far moved faster to approach the player to join the Allianz Arena, I think Ubrig is the right candidate to replace Manuel Neuer under the crossbar,
On the other hand, Leverkusen also wants to get a replacement for Lukas Hradecky who we know is already 36 years old.
But no matter what, it seems that Munich has a great chance of getting the services of the goalkeeper because, Munich is a big team, anyone will be tempted to play with a big club.

But he has not hidden his desire to coach a national team. For now, I am not sure he is considering leaving Manchester City; maybe he might extend his contract because it looks like he is comfortable with his stay in Etihad.

The rumour that Carlo Ancelotti will be moving to Brazil has resurfaced again. The news was everywhere last year until he extended his contract with Real Madrid. He has not denied or accepted his interest in handling the highest winners of the World Cup, so all we can do is speculate about his next move.

Ancelotti already tried to leave Real Madrid. If you followed the news, you must know Ancelotti was rumored to be the coach of Brazilian national team. But Real Madrid board still wants him staying. So Ancelotti stays until 2026. After 2026, Real Madrid is possible to have a new coach. However, this only can happen if Real Madrid doesn't try to offer Ancelotti a new contract extension.

He eventually had to leave and hand over the Real Madrid legacy to better hands. Ancelotti has achieved everything in Madrid, and next season could be his last as a club coach. Moreover getting an offer to coach the Brazilian national team is a challenge to rise to international level. Brazil is full of incredibly talented players but has not found the right coach and Ancelotti could be the perfect answer.
His contract will expire in June 2026 it is still too early to talk about it now because we do not know what decision Carlo Ancelotti will take later, but I think if he leaves Real Madrid maybe he chooses to retire and take a break because he has achieved a lot so far as a coach and his age is also getting older he certainly does not want to be under pressure all the time, indeed he has never coached a national team but last season he was offered but he preferred to continue serving Real Madrid and I think at this time he is not so interested in coaching a national team.
Ancelotti is getting old and I know that he will retire soon from coaching which I know that Real Madrid is his last club to coach. If he leaves Real Madrid will still get a good coach to manage the players and they will surely get the best because they are rich and they are alsothe most successful in the history of football.

It is only take them sometime to get the right coach that can maintain the club performance and keep to standard. If they make wrong decisions on getting a good coach, the management will keep on firing the coaches till they get the superb one. Ancelotti will be missed by the players and the club if he leaves.
