U are right. This is one of the reasons I present to people as per why PSG don't do well in some competitions outside French league. The confidence PSG has while playing in their local league isn't buoyant enough to keep them in competitions like champions league.
PSG has been very poor this season but yet, no other team in the French league was able to overthrough them from the top position in the French league standing. This alone shows how weak the league is.

If Ligue 1 were like the Premier League, PSG would not be able to continue to stay at the top of the standings. This season PSG not only performed beyond expectations in competitions outside of Ligue 1, they were also unable to maintain their best performance in the local league. Luckily for PSG because Ligue 1 is not as competitive as the Premier League, they can continue to be champions after year because no other team can provide competition.
The negative effect that is felt by PSG is that it always has difficulty competing in other competitions, the proof is that PSG has not been able to bring home the Champions League trophy even though they have wanted to win it for a long time.

LOSC is indeed superior to Lorient. they have a more productive forward line than Lorient. especially when they will be playing at home. but Lorient can also surprise. LOSC drew against Lyon, and Lorient also drew with Lyon. saw the odds offered for this match, and wanted to try with a small bet by choosing Lorient to narrowly win.

Lille at home is a team that usually delivers,rarely I have seen them failing miserably in front of their home fans,sure they have failed but as all teams do occasionally and I think that they are going to win this upcoming game against Lorient.Lorient is not a bad team either but I don't think they have the capability to stop Lille at home.In fact in these kind of games no one expected Nice for example sometime ago to lose at home but they did and Lille may as well fall prey to such happenings so that is why I am going to bet on both teams to score as both Lille and Lorient are teams who love scoring goals.

I was really hopeful about Marseille before about maintaining their title claim but it is really gone now. The gap is seven points which is quite huge when we think they are competing against PSG for that. PSG made us really surprised by losing to Rennes in a home match but I still don't expect them to make bigger mistakes to not lose their advantage. As long as they play even with one or two of their great trio in the attacking side there should be no problem to win the title as well.

Marseille just need to concentrate on keeping their current position now. Because who knows maybe one of Lens - Monaco duo can steal it from them. Monaco are still more likely to do so I think despite Lens' being ahead of them.

the competition between marseille and lens is actually quite interesting because no one expected lens to be able to make it this far, I'm actually more confident with lens which will finish in 2nd place until the end of the season than Marseille. there are still 8 more matches ahead and the opponents that Lens will face which are quite difficult are PSG and Marseille, so Lens only needs a draw if they face these two teams later so that they can be in 2nd position shifting Marseille.

PSG's performances have been poor in recent times. I'd also like to blame PSG's multiple coaching changes in this issue, among with some others. Different managers of the team have come up with their own strategies and tactics in such changes. This has resulted in a lack of consistency in the team's style of play and overall approach to play. As a result there may be some lack of coordination within the team. But I think the team has strong foundations and potential to bounce back in the future.

You are probably right that PSG are without doubt in first place this season. Only 9 rounds left, of which the strongest club for PSG will be Lens. Their closest rival, Marseille, will have a tougher remaining games than PSG. Therefore, it will be almost impossible for them to pick up seven points to get to the top of the standings. But that's assuming PSG lose many games or draw a lot.

Although their remaining games have lots of walk overs the still have to play at their very best to avoid making silly mistakes that can cost them losing their place at a time like this where they are closer to the lifting their trophy. From all observation it is almost impossible for PSG to lose more than 1 game but sometimes over confidence can make things turn around so PSG still need to be at their very best to secure their trophy.

I agree that they need to play very well to score maximum points. But we must not forget that Marseille need to play even better. I won't talk about Lens, for them the season will definitely not end in first place, they have no chance of that. PSG have a good reserve of points to feel comfortable and I think they can keep the lead.

Yeah it's like even at the very bad season they have ... psg would still win the league though and having to finish other than 1st place might happened once in 20 years , there is no tough competition at ligue 1 , not healthy at all ... someone from qatar or kuwait need to takeover marseille or rc lens or whichever ligue 1 club lol

If u ask me I will say PSG has remain the same cuz they have not reached the height which they desire before going to spend that much in getting the three world class players. Their dominance is only in the local league level and this shows how weak the league is.

But what exactly is the achievement if you are financed by a sheikh, one of your players costs as much as some of the entire teams in Ligue 1 (it is a bit exaggerated I know) and then you win the Ligue 1 title. It doesn't sound as if you could be really proud of that. Not as a coach and also not as a player.

That is what sets the Premier League apart so much. Winning the Premier League title means something. Winning it isn't easy, it is damn hard. Even though Manchester City won it a four times in the last five years, just look what effort was required to do it. 93 points last season vs. Liverpool with 92 points. Or in 2019 they needed 98 points and Liverpool had 97 points and both won all of their last games. One mistake and the title is gone. That's so different in many other leagues.

It was the same for quite a while in Italy with Juventus, but that has now changed as well. I think that Juventus won't dominate Serie A as they used to do anytime soon.

They don't have good reputation in Champions League and even they have enough quality, it's not enough for them to make opponents have fearful feeling. In some big matches, PSG got very good differences like 2 or 3 goals ahead but they collapsed very easily. Among big clubs in Champions League, last 10 years, PSG are the most victims of historic come-backs like with Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

If they have reputation like Real Madrid, opponents will easily give up if PSG led 2 or 3 goals. They don't have it now and they have to work to get it for their club in Champions League.

It is acceptable if they have a bit difficult in Ligue 1 but go far in Champions League. However reality is they failed in Champions League at the first knock-out phase, round of 16 so any excuse for their not good enough performance in Ligue 1 does not mean anything. It's unacceptable for their fans to exit Champions League at round of 16 and see their star players turn to be meeky sheeps in Champions League.

In the last two seasons, PSG did not repeat their successful season when they went to Champions League final and failed under hands of Bayern Munich. Three seasons later, they failed against Bayern but at round of 16. No revenge after all for PSG after 3 years.

Psg do not even have to put all their efforts into the Ligue 1 to win it, the other teams that can challenge them for the Ligue 1 title are very inconsistent, teams like Marseille, Lens and Monaco. Psg have been in poor form many times this season and if these teams were consistent, they should have taken the number 1 position from psg, but whenever the chance comes, they also start losing games. Psg are leading with 7 points right now and i am sure the advantage will get bigger, if the other big clubs in the Ligue 1 want to take the title from psg in any season, they have to be consistent.
