They might be thriving in the Ligue 1 but when it comes to tougher competition like the Champions League I don't think they're there yet, yes they got a good squad with a handful of word class materials but they're not putting enough effort outside their domestic league and that's why they don't go far in the Champions League, I think you're right in all you said @Majestic-milf, PSG are only dangerous in France but outside the French soil they tend to be very weak that's why you'll see teams like Newcastle that gave them tough challenge last season then Sporting and PSV this season, it's understandable when they give points against a big club like Juventus but drawing with Sporting and PSV is not enough if they want to be the Champions of Europe, I feel PSG are really satisfied on being the Champions of Ligue 1 and not nothing else.
Luis Enrique knows that he might lose his job if PSG fails to make an impact in the UCL. Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is an ambitious man who desperately wants PSG to win the European competition. The game with PSV was painful because the host dominated the match. Call it superstition, PSG might be under a spell because they have done almost everything possible to win the UCL and failed.
They are also facing a strong opposition in the Ligue One this season with both Monaco and Marseille closing the gap on them. The match against Marseille is very important because a draw or loss might make them drop to the second position if Monaco can beat Nice. And with the performance of Monaco in the Champions League, where they bashed FK Crvena Zvezda 5-1, Nice might not be a problem.
PSG does not have any progress, but you say PSG has great progress in Ligue 1 because basically PSG only has good dominance in Ligue 1 from season to season but not for the Champions League. So, no matter how good PSG's previous squad was when they had Mbappe, Messi, Neymar and some other luxury players, the reality is that PSG still failed in the Champions League. So, the poor results that PSG got at this moment in the Champions League are not at all surprising because such poor results have at least often happened also in previous seasons.
But about whether Luis Enrique's career at PSG will be in danger of being fired or not, I personally don't really believe about it. Because after all, PSG also did not bring in any players after Mbappe's departure in the last transfer window. Thus, maybe if Luis Enrique brings in new players in the January transfer window later, it might make PSG have improvements which seems like Luis Enrique's position I think will still be fine.
