Marseille were really in their best game mode in this match, 21 attempts at shooting, 10 of which were on target against Montpellier. Goals were scored by Elye Wahi, Amine Harit, Hojbejrg, Greenwood, and the last goal was scored by Tomaz D Lima in the 73rd minute. Overall, Montpellier's statistics were defeated and unable to reduce the deficit even though they had opportunities, they could not do anything after one of their players received a red card. It was a nice game for Marseille because they were able to get a good win in this match, seeing how they competed I was quite sorry for Montpellier because they didn't get a goal back, even though they had several chances but couldn't score them into goals.

Until week 8, Ligue 1 looked quite tight. The competition for first place between Monaco and PSG is tight, I mean both teams have the same performance and points at the moment. Plus, terminating a contract for a manager isn't something they would have financial trouble with, so they are extending however they want. Looking at this season, we can see they are not doing something special, they are not terrible neither but nothing great to show for, so extending the contract right now is just giving the manager a comfort.
The manager knows, he will either have a job until 2027, or at worst case even if he is ever fired, eh will be getting millions and millions of euros as termination prize, hence they can manage the team without worrying about their own future, which is great for a team, always important for managers to feel ease.

The league is not competitive enough and I think that is one of the biggest problems that PSG is not getting over with. It sometimes looks as if they can't play on a consistently high level and then out of a sudden they have a Champions League game with an opponent on whole different level. In the Premier League the teams have a top game almost every week whereas PSG is playing against these mediocre opponents all year long. I wouldn't write then off just yet though in the Champions League.

From seeing this week’s fixtures i just knew that there will be a problem for Monaco because LOSC is not an easy opponent and if they dropped points PSG will definitely take advantage and win their match to move up ahead of Monaco. I predicted it and it happened.Only thing they can do now is to not give up and maintain their performance and keep winning to keep trailing PSG until when they drop points. They need to keep pressuring PSG because they have same points and only goals seperate them. It won’t be easy but if they want to stand a chance to win the league they should even improve their performance and not drop any further points.

I didn't have a doubt that PSG would be able to defeat Strasbourg. Heck, the visitors are no match for them and despite being 7th on the log, they have not had an impressive start to the season, having just one win in their last five games and it would have been surprising had Luis Enrique's men lost or being unable to pour goals but where I've got issues with PSG is that once it comes to playing in other competitions outside of their domestic league you'd find them struggling and it then looks like they're local champions that are incapable of doing or being a threat.
