Olympique Marseille have gone so bad lately, loosing three consecutive matches and have almost been kicked out of both the champions league and Europa league. Without the own goal of Ismaily yesterday, they would have lost three goals to nil against Lille, a team they would have fought squarely if it were when they were still in form. I would have said they are paying more attention to the Europa league but they are not the only team playing that competition yet still doing very well in their local league. If they face Benfica next week with this weakness, they might not survive it.
Marseille really needs to improve their performance in the remainder of this season if they still really want to be in a better position or in the European zone for next season. Because with conditions like that, Marseille certainly won't be able to do much in the Europa League this season, especially as their opponents are Benfica, who are generally still quite good in the Portuguese League and could also remain good in the Europa League this season. So Marseille really needs motivation and improved performance before facing Benfica in the Europa League.
They experienced 3 consecutive defeats, which means they lost 9 points from those 3 matches, and that is what kept them away from competing for the best position in the standings. If they had not experienced consecutive defeats like that, they could have been in 5th place at least, but unfortunately they received such bad results that they were thrown to 7th place in the standings. In this match they could not maintain their performance in the first half, especially in the back line which looked more fragile in the second half so they conceded 3 goals to Lille.
This is the inconsistency that is still shown by the teams in Ligue 1, so that they miss many opportunities to achieve the best results in the standings and this happens almost every season.

I can agree with you there. There is a different look of the standings this season than the previous one. Lyon started the season horrible and barely managed to climb to the tenth position later on. Marseille are even out of top six now. Monaco and Lille are doing better though. On the other hand we have a surprising team at the second position, Brest.  Grin

Brest finished only 9 points above the relegation zone in the previous season but now they are fighting for a Champions League spot. Éric Roy is doing a superb job since he joined. First he kept the team in the Ligue 1 and now this is happening.  Smiley

Several of the top teams in Ligue 1 this season have experienced a decline, Marseille experienced a decline after Igor Tudor left. Lyon was even worse, they were in the red zone and finally were able to be in a safer zone. Nice was in the top four of the standings, but in the end they dropped by themselves because this team actually didn't have much depth.
Now, Brest is in 2nd place in the standings. however, it is only a matter of time to be overtaken by Monaco. after all, these two teams still have one meeting left. I'm still quite optimistic that Manaco will be able to finish in 2nd place by the end of this season.

As for Lille, I'm not too sure. But at least they still have a chance to finish in the top four of Ligue 1, even though Lillie is currently in 3rd place. However, if Monaco wins the match against Rennes, the position occupied by Lille will be taken over again. Maybe this week, Brest's position will not be marginalized if we look at their opponent, Metz. but there is no guarantee that Brest can win the match. In the following week, Brest has a match against Lyon and after that against Monaco. so, it is not an easy job for Brest to maintain its ranking until the end of the season.

The first half of Lens' match against Le Havre has ended and the score is still 0-0.
Here I saw that Le Harve really put up quite a strong resistance and it seemed like they were really playing hard to get points to get away from the relegation zone.

On the other hand, Lens, who is also competing with Nice for the 5th position to get a ticket to Europe next season, seems unable to recover from the slump in performance, which did not get any points in its last two matches.

The second half will start soon and I'm sure the tension in the match will be higher because both teams are playing quite hard.
I think for now it is better to bet on 1.5 over goals in the second half, it is possible to happen
Even though I had imagined that Lens would win this match so easily, unfortunately the score ended in a draw with both teams scoring goals. In the end, Lens was unable to take advantage of the opportunity to widen the points gap from Nice and even though Lens has currently moved up one place, its number of points is the same as Nice.

On the other hand, Nice, who have not played a match this week, have the opportunity to increase the gap to 3 points if they win against Reims. I think it will be Nice's opportunity because in the last 5 matches they have only been able to win once. So far, Nice can't be said to be good and I think they often experience unprecedented deadlocks. Against Reims is certainly not an easy task and they cannot afford to get bad results again later.

Anyway, your prediction about betting over 1.5 goals has proven to be correct because there are 2 goals in this match and if you bet then you will definitely get a profit.

The match ended with a draw, 1-1. In the second half, Lens managed to score a goal in the 58th minute, but unfortunately it was equalized by Le Havre in the 78th minute through a penalty. Le Havre managed to provide very fierce resistance to Lens, so that Lens could only secure 1 point from this match. To be honest, this is a result that I didn't predict beforehand, because I thought Lens would be able to win, because the opponents they faced were no better than them.

This result makes Lens stuck in 5th position, and that is not safe enough for them, because Nice has not played a match this week. Nice itself will visit Reims headquarters tomorrow and it will also be a difficult match for them. Because in terms of quality and performance, Reims is not much different from Nice, especially since Reims will act as host in this match. I don't know for sure what will happen in this match, because in my opinion their chances of winning are not much different and maybe this will be a match that ends in a draw.

PSG have a lot of great players in their squad and even when Messi and Neymar were at PSG many said that PSG was like an Avenger team that did gather many stars in their squad, but when they had the best striker, the best midfielder and even the best goalkeeper in the world with them at that time they still failed to win the Champions League.  I think the mentality that PSG have had has been a factor in their failure to win the Champions League so far, and competing in a league that is not competitive is certainly the main reason they have a weak mentality when playing in the Europa League so far.

This season is an opportunity for PSG to be able to try their luck again in the Champions League and this season will be Mbappe's last season at PSG certainly quite interesting to see how far PSG go this season with Mbappe, Enrique has good experience in the Champions League and I think it will be a good capital for PSG this season although it is very pessimistic to see their will be able to win the Champions League,  In addition, PSG will face Barcelona in the Champions League quarterfinals, not Bayern Munich as you said, against Barcelona it might be a bit of an advantage for PSG because after all this time Enrique has understood the style and character of Barcelona's game so maybe it will be easy for him to beat Barcelona.

In the Ligue 1 PSG happens to be the very best in the league as them winning the league and dominating the league is a big testament to that fact and you can’t compare or worry much when PSG has a weekend match in their league. This is one reason this league is being referred to as a farmer’s league because of how comfortable the other clubs are with PSG continuous dominance in the league. When it comes to the UCL, there’s a bit of difference as PSG are not able to match most of the big boys in the UCL. In the Ucl psg are known not tO be able to g past the last 8 of this competition as they are seen to always struggle in the round of 16 and quater finals of this competition.

Yes they’ve had great players in their squad especially with the likes of Neymar, Messi and Mbappe and the squad looking all fierce you’ll think they’ll run riots but in the UCL, these players suddenly become a shadow of themselves and end up not performing when they get to that stage. I feel them being too comfortable in their league has affected their mentality and in turn affected the way they see the ucl as they in a way compare it to their league match.

They need and they’ve got an experienced coach in Enrique who’ll try to help this team get somewhere notable in the UCL and I aslo feel as Mbappe’s last season he is ready to help the team attain huge success in this year’s ucl. Their next test is Barcelona and I’m very confident Psg if they take their chances well and partner with Mbappe then they can be able to eliminate this Barcelona side and head to the last 4 of the Ucl this year.

The result match between Lille vs Marseille is ended according to the prediction that Lille still able to managed their winning streak at home yesterday and they were successfully to beat Marseille with final scores 3-1 and this result is makes Marseille situations is getting hard and their position at league table also will possibly to taking over by Rennes or Reims if these teams can able to overcomes their opponents later and for Lille they have same points with Monaco now but they can taking over 3rd place from Monaco because Lille is more good from head to head statistics

Marseille tried to give LOSC resistance in this match, but their efforts only lasted in the first half, because when they entered the second half they failed to maintain their game when they were able to hold LOSC to a draw. In the second half, LOSC was able to evaluate their shortcomings in the first half so that they managed to create goal after goal to win, while Marseille could only create 1 goal and that was because of an own goal.

This result allows LOSC to shift its position from MOnaco in 3rd place in the standings with the same points. However, Monaco still hasn't played a match this week, which means that if Monaco can get points then they will regain their position in 3rd place again. Looking at the opponents that Monaco will face, this is actually not an easy match for them. However, when compared, they are still better than Rennes, so I think they will be able to secure points in this match, especially as they will also play as hosts.

For upcoming match of Ligue 1 Lens as a host will playing against Le Havre today and i know Lens previously was lost from Lille and Nice so they had ambition want to used this match to bounce back and collect 3 points and i think their chances to beat Le Havre is very wide open because Le Havre away matches this season is very poor even since November last year Le Havre was unable to gets the winning results from away matches so confidently i will says Lens will being an the winner of this match and actually the odds for Lens win is not high @1.50 but i think this is safe bets and probably easy money

In my opinion, Marseille's victory over Villareal in the round of 16 was lucky for Marseille because at that time Villareal's performance was also unstable in Laliga and Marseille was able to take advantage of the first leg by scoring lots of goals so that in the second leg he only increased his total aggregate so he could qualify for the round. quarter-finals despite Villareal also winning in the second leg but the aggregate total was not able to match Marseille, and now Marseille has to face Benfica in the quarter-finals which is Marseille's next challenge.

The defeat against PSG was indeed a bit painful because Marseille was playing at home and their opponent had also lost 1 player but Marseille also couldn't do much against the French giant and he had to accept defeat at home, his decline continued until now against Lille Marseille lost badly 3:1 and 1 goal achieved by Marseille was due to an error by a Lille player who created an own goal.

So overall, Marseille's performance is getting worse, who knows what will happen when he has to face Benfica later, even though next week he has to prepare for this first match in Portugal, which will definitely make Marseille have to think hard about beating Benfica, even though his current performance is a little doubtful.

I guess that Marseille will not be able to repeat a 4-0 against Benfica, but still the result was very clear and Marseille deserved to advance to the next round. After all, these rounds consist of the aggregate of two games and when a team wins the first leg 4-0, it isn't uncommon that the second leg doesn't go perfectly well as the leading team might be playing with some overconfidence.

But now Marseille has lost strack of their recovery after that horrible start into the season. They were really on a good way to make up for their bad performances and I thought in the meantime that they could make it into the top 4, but now losing 9/9 points in the last three games put this recovery to an end. At least they are not fighting against being relegated anymore...

Talking about Lyon, I remember at the start of the season when Lyon experienced a decline in performance, many people didn't talk about the bad things about the club and everyone was busy discussing PSG, who were about to lose first position but managed to get first position again.
After approaching the middle of the season, everyone realized that a popular club like Lyon was experiencing a very deep decline in performance, even as the club was already in despair, but after the arrival of new players, Lyon had a very big change and previously I have said that Lyon is one of the popular clubs in the world. league 1 so it would not be possible to be relegated and now everything is proven.
There are a lot of position changes this season, not the same as last season, only PSG remains in first place and Brest seems to want second place in the League 1 points table.
Marseille experienced another bad period after managing to get 3 wins after then paying for it all with consecutive defeats.

Which is confusing to me. I mean there are better teams there than Ligue 1 teams and considering the situation they are in, I would have expected them to have something much better at ligue one. They should have been second team with a big gap, but they are not there right now.

Looking at how the teams are going, I feel like the biggest shocker of the season has been Lyon without a doubt, bare bottom with so many point difference, to mid table team after middle of the season. They really look great and I feel like if they could manage to keep this up, they could even finish at conference league levels. Which could be a stone they could build upon and be better next season as well. I really like them, would love to see them do better.

The teams that are PSG's opponents in the France League are never equal to PSG, so other teams cannot compete with PSG in any season. Apart from Ligue 1, if you look at Champions League or other tournaments, PSG does not have a very good record in those tournaments. PSG doesn't have a good record in the Champions League because the teams that are in the Champions League are definitely the best teams in their respective leagues so those teams are definitely ahead of PSG in every match and that's because PSG didn't do well in the UCL tournament. PSG have secured a quarter-final spot in the tournament where they face Bayern Munich. PSG are not too interested in Ligue 1 but with difference against Brest, 12 points more, assume they will win Ligue 1 this season even won't have to spend too much concentration in coming matches.

They are strong in Ligue 1 and create fear for other clubs in Ligue 1 but when they play in Champions League, it's their turn to feel fearful when facing big clubs in Europe. They always have strong squad but their mentality is always weak in Champions League. They are strong enough to have good matches, score some goals, lead their opponents big enough to go to a next round, but after all they wasted all big advantage and lost a battle.

If PSG want to win Champions League, they need to have strong mentality and don't consider that meeting Bayern Munich in quarter finals is like nightmare for them. I am sure no clubs will feel happy when facing with Bayern Munich in Champions League but if feel fearful, it's wrong.

I think the first game that ended 4-0 against Villareal is still something to look back on, but their recent performances are not very promising. The loss against PSG, which played with 10 players since minute 40' was already a big disappointment and shouldn't have happened. They can now probably bury their dream to qualify for the Europa League if Nice wins the next game. The gap would increase to seven points, which given how Marseille is performing at the moment would probably be too much to still make up for in the remaining ten games.

If PSG is playing the champions league with the same pattern they use to play the Ligue 1 i most definitely doubt their ability to be able to win the champions league and the dream or the possibility of mbappe getting a trio this season is most definitely not going to really be achieved because they don't have all it takes but at Madrid where he will be moving to he may be able to achieve such.
This situation is what hinder PSG to gain success in Champions League. Their routine games in Ligue 1 is quite low standard compared to the routine games of their competitor from other top leagues. They don't have high pressure games coupled with no high pressure competition in title race. This makes their mentality could be not ready to be under-pressure in a high stake of game in Champions League.

I won’t entirely agree with all your statements about PSG though. Saying that they lack competitive teams in the Ligue 1 to make it difficult for them and for them to add more pressure into the fight for the top title could be true. But their routine game in the champions league is also a very big competitive one for them and they’ve also been doing pretty well in the champions just haven’t had the luck yet to life the trophy. I remember those past games in the champions league matches which in those seasons they were the high contenders for the league only to be eliminated by another top team. PSG are good as a team and that is what is giving them the lead every season to lift the Ligue 1 trophy, they just need to keep trying but I am certain they would lift the trophy one day too.

Currently, the Europa League for Marseille is quite surprising because they managed to pass through several phases and are currently in the quarter-finals but indeed this is still a risk considering that for the Europa League at this time there are still several other leading clubs such as Liverpool, Milan and Leverkusen who are still one of the favorite clubs.

The Europa League is going on much better for Marseille compared to the Ligue 1 indeed.  Smiley  Their opponent is Benfica in the quarter finals and I believe this is a winnable matchup for Marseille as well.

However let's say they became successful on it their next opponent would probably be Liverpool. Do you believe Marseille can get past this obstacle as well? I don't think so honestly. Therefore they are quite likely to lose their other chance to qualify for the Champions League too. There are still positive things to be seen by their new manager's arrival though. But consistency is always the key factor to success. We need to see it from them more.
I don't mean to belittle, but in my opinion, sooner or later Marseille will definitely be eliminated from the Europa League, because every round they always face more difficult opponents. As you said, if they are successful in the quarter-finals, will they experience the same success in the semifinals? I think not, because their opponents are very strong and they are even one of the favorites in the Europa League this season.
This season Marseille can't do much, either in Ligue1 or in the Europa League. But maybe they will get really big luck, yes, they could show a surprise that they never imagined before by making it through to the final, for example.
What is clear now is that they have to complete their task in the Europa League quarter-finals first before they focus on other matches. They have to work hard and don't need to think about the results, because if they think about the opponent they will face next, it will probably destroy their mentality.
We never know what the results will be and there are no guarantees in UEL competitions.
What the Marseille coach is thinking about right now is just trying to take advantage of every opportunity that exists at UEL, even though the results are a little doubtful, but competitions like this always provide a little surprise.
Maybe currently Marseille can't provide any performance in League 1 when their performance is starting to decline, but I'm sure this is all due to the impact of several injured players.
And in today's match, Marseille experienced another defeat, but that's natural because Lille was not an easy opponent for Marseille in that match because they were the visiting team. I don't want to say much but what is clear is that in the UEL prediction against Benfica Marseille might experience a little difficulty.

All the competition they happens to face is usually in the champions league and not much in the Ligue 1 so it's very normal for them to have routine style and pattern in the Ligue 1 thst is much different from that which they do have in the champions league because the pattern in the Ligue 1 guarantees them victory and they will literally have to not suffer much again in their champions league games as all the struggles will be channelled towards there.

Actually it will be really difficult for PSG to be able to really do well in the champions league if they keep using the same style they have been using in their domestic league because even them are very much aware of the level of the competition they actually do face in the champions league when compared to that in their domestic league too but so far they have gotten enough champions league experience so it should by this time become something they should   be able to know how to scale through well enough just like they do with their domestic league.

Ligue 1 has and is not a problem for PSG, their problems has always been within the champions league and most definitely if they keep trying with improvement they will get to the level where they will be able to lift the trophy buy if they don't add improvement to all that they are doing, they are definitely going to end up not winning the champions league again and would have to try again but then if they  do that which they aught to do then they can be sure to some day win the champions league.

The decline in Marseille continues. After losing 2-0 to Rennes and PSG, Marseille is now losing to Lille by the same score. We are used to seeing them in 2nd-3rd place but now they are far from the top 6. They might not qualify for the European cups next season. Their biggest problem is that they have no goal scorer except Aubameyang. There is no player in the team who has scored 6 and more goals. When the wingers, number 10 and the other strikers are so out of form, this place in the standing is normal. This is the problem they need to solve first and foremost for next season.
Marseille has played four matches winless, they have a set back in their performance which has affected their position the League one table. They were lucky to have recorded enough goal in their Europa League first leg matches against Villarreal else this poor form would have affected them which will lead to their elimination in the Europa League, but they are lucky to qualify to the quarter finals.
With the couple of matches remaining in the League one this season, if they are back in form, they can make it to the Europa League again next season, or if the manage to win the Europa League this season.
