There is no doubt about the quality of PSG in the French competition because the strength of the PSG team always exceeds that of other teams so that PSG can continue to win more trophies as long as the competition is in France. But when leaving France or let's say a competition like the UCL for example, it is still very doubtful that PSG will be better because it may be influenced by the opponents that PSG often faces in France who are always less strong than themselves.

In the round of 16 of the French Cup, PSG defeated Brest 3-1 at home in their last match. PSG were the favorites against Brest before going into this match. Started the game as favourites, and ended up being favourites. 

As usual, Mbappe started the match with a goal for PSG and then all the other players scored as the team increased the margin of victory. There is a big difference between the PSG we saw at the beginning of the season and the PSG we see now because in the beginning PSG were performing very badly but they are performing very well in this current season. Such a sudden comeback by PSG undoubtedly deserves praise.

The performance of Ligue 1 teams in the Coupe de France competition is not very promising and I think a result like this would have been unexpected. Monaco should have been able to advance easily to the quarter-finals, even if necessary with a landslide score, but what we saw was that they were quite under pressure so they could only score 1 goal. Even though the second half still had a long way to go to reverse the score, it looked like Monaco couldn't do much because FC Rouen was really aiming for a place to qualify for the next round.

The quality of these two teams should have been very different and even though they had to go through a penalty shootout, Monaco was still favored to win but the result was a 6-5 win for FC Rouen in this penalty shootout round. Maybe we can't expect much from the Ligue 1 teams in this competition unless we hope that PSG will always give the results we want.

From everything I have observed, Lyon has indeed improved, but I cannot confirm whether Lyon will really be consistent in the next few matches.
I agree with you Lyon can avoid the relegation zone but I'm sure it won't be in  top 10 and will only be below the top 10.
Pierre Sage has good plans for Lyon and we are waiting to see what the coach will provide to be able to keep the club in League 1.

In accordance with what I thought, Lyon will have the opportunity to recover quickly and get additional points consistently to secure its position and it was very clear yesterday after successfully beating Lille in other competitions but yesterday they also succeeded in beating Montpellier with narrow score but for me Lyon performance already very different from before and yesterday he looked very enthusiastic even though he was playing away.
Maxence Caqueret managed to save Lyon win in 81st minute very intelligently, he was able to score 1 very meaningful score for Lyon and this 1 score was the first score he managed to score this season.

Marseille has tight schedules this week because after the match against Metz they have to fight against Shakhtar Donetsk at play off stages of Europa league so probably Genarro Gattuso will do some rotation to Marseille squad because the match against Shakhtar Donetsk also so important for Marseille and actually they will gets easy opponent Metz because we all know Metz was failed to managed their consistency and their records is very poor because in the last 8 matches in all competitions Metz was gets 7 loses and only get 1 draw and these results too makes them in the relegation zone with 16 points

Actually since Gattuso handle this team Marseille has no significant progress because they were still unstable even in the last 4 matches Marseille was failed to gets the winning results and last week surprisingly they were lost from Lyon and for the match today as usual Marseille still rely on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a striker and compared to other Marseille forward players only Aubameyang who can able to performing well and so far his records is quite impressive with 6 goals and 7 assists in Ligue 1 and actually if Marseille can managed their consistency it's not hard to beat Metz even the bookmakers provided low odds for them @1.46 so let see Marseille can able to bounce back and win the match or they will be failed to win again

Not too bad to be at the position I'm currently seeing em, though I know they have to work together and hard to earn the spot we all think they should be. Despite talks of it being the farmers league,  these lads are having a Competitive season.

They should be against Nice if I'm correct,  and Nice at home is one tough nut to crack. Hard one to predict to avoid defeat then they must try to get a point because I'm sure they'll not be able to win this game.
For Brest, Ti's off course a good chance to see them level up with them current points,  they should off course beat Clemfort who's had less wins against Brest.

Monaco are just really bad this season. Not only in the cup I mean but also the Ligue 1.    They have lost a lot of points in the league so far and they are out of the Champions League spots at the moment. They are still not far away from those spots by points of course. But this performance needs to be improved more if they want to make it.

The Ligue 1 has a quota of three teams to join the Champions League groups directly this season. Even the fourth finishing team have a chance through qualification phase. Monaco shouldn't miss this chance by maintaining a poor performance.

Monaco were not very good in the last matches with Le Havre and Marseille, and apparently the cup is not a priority tournament for them, since it is obvious that their main goal is Ligue 1, where they will compete with Brest and Lille for the top 4. Moreover, in in the next rounds they will need to play with Nice and Lens, these are very tough opponents, and it is obvious that they need to try to get points in these matches. And Lance is also their direct competitor.

Class differences were evident from the start. This season, PSG has been unmatched in firepower. At times, Brest showed some fight, but PSG's quality proved overwhelming. They dominated and proved they're the top domestic trophy contenders.

Nice is an intriguing opponent. Nice has done well to become France's second-best squad. I think their match against PSG is predictable. Nice has time to strategize, but PSG's depth and talent are unparalleled. Its not enough to have star players - they must also win.

For this season Nice becoming the compete teams for PSG winning the Ligue 1 tittle but current standings gap 8 points, its large difference points with PSG not get consistency performance and losses many points. Seems very difficult for breaking out PSG dominance in Ligue 1 has better financial than other team easily for winning domestic league tittle every season.

Last season Lens become the rival team for PSG but they had poor performance and out from Champion League spot standings, has opportunity for Nice get the top fourth position standings in this season and secure one qualifying ticket to the Champion League next season but need consistency performance behind many Ligue 1 matches left and Nice never losses any points yet. Nice's points is not secure yet for the top fourth standings awhile because the top six standing has few points left and easily for taking Nice's position.

Why am I not surprised with this result?    Because Monaco were eliminated by Rodez in the same cup last season also. I don't even remember Monaco winning this cup once recently or a long time ago. I think they shouldn't be playing like this in league cups. Because they can't even be competitive for the Ligue 1 title for quite a long time. Why wouldn't you make extra effort to win a league cup at least?

Their starting eleven was also not fully rotated or so if I'm not mistaken. But they still didn't play properly in regular time. 

This is quite sad for Monaco not only because they were eliminated but how in normal times they couldn't make things their own even though they controlled the game.

Is it possible that this failure will affect the mentality of Monaco players? because in the next Ligue 1 match they will face a quite tough match against Nice.
Nice may not be a productive team but their defense is very good and Monaco will have quite a hard time penetrating their opponent's defense.
Nice no longer has a chance of becoming a contender for Ligue 1 champions but they still have to win the match to maintain their current position so they can compete in the Champions League next season, even though in the Champions League Nice will not be a team that has a chance to go far because they will face stronger teams in the competition.

I never believe that Lyon will be able to beat Lille on that match considering there poor performance and how they have not been able to be consistent this season, actually it was surprising seeing how Lille that has been very consistent on there winings this season will be very poor in performance that Lyon which are currently close to the bottom of the league table will be able to defeat them, well is a game of soccer and anything is possible, however it seems Lyon has beginning to peak form because they have been able to win there last two matches so perhaps there main target now should be to remove themselves from the relegation zone.

Nice have become PSG's rivals now and they are really struggling to improve their ability to compete with PSG. Even though they are currently having difficulty reaching first place in Ligue 1, what they are doing now is much better than Monaco or Lyon. There is still time to prepare for the match and Nice must try to raise their morale so that they can play freely against PSG and I am sure they will put up quite a match.

It is still quite difficult to stop PSG because in the domestic league they are so strong and breaking PSG's dominance is not an easy thing. Nice are ten points behind PSG and even though it is difficult to catch them, being able to stay in runners-up until the end of the season is very good, so they have secured their ticket to the Champions League.

Lyon was surprising beat lille and it was unpredictable result for us. I think that it's quite clear that if lyon has been slowly moving up again to the its best performance. It's not understandable to see that how it was able winning against lille which has been performing even better than before.
Im hoping that if this is going to be a very good start for lyon to claim its position again. The stats owned by lille was not even good compared to the lyon. It's caused by lyon has some good attackes compared to the lille which was bottling the match.

Even though lyon was winning with narrow score but it needs to be fully appreciated caused by lille has been working very hard to beat lyon but it was unable to do that. Im feeling so happy by seeing lyong is slowly moving up again. I can't even believe with my eyes to see that lyon won two important games against strong teams in the league one.
It's hard to predict the performance from lyon in any game. It's caused by lyon was able giving very good performance against the strong club while it was always struggling to beat the weak club.

Sometimes. i can't even understand what this thing is happening right now. It seems like that everything is just going even easier for lyon. I hope that lyon will always be getting winstreak.

That really surprised me. Lille is a strong team and they are ranked fourth in the standings. Being able to beat a team like Lille means Lyon's performance has improved and that is good news. If they are able to maintain their performance then I think they will be free from the relegation zone. I think Lyon's quality makes it impossible for them to be relegated. If we continue to play like this, I think Lyon will be in the middle of the standings at the end of the season.

PSG played at home and his opponent was Brest in terms of squad player material far inferior to PSG. in addition, PSG also played at home. and Brest also only played with 10 players after Brassier got a red card. so it's only natural that PSG won this match.

Nice have been the second best team in the all domestic competitions in France since the start of the season and now that they'll have to face their biggest rivals of the season Paris Saint Germaine in the quarter finals of the of French Cup, I think it'll be a very difficult game for them.
The game is almost three weeks from today which will give Nice the needed time to prepare for that big encounter. However I don't expect any team in France to stop Paris Saint Germaine from claiming all the domestic trophies in the country and that's because of their superior quality of players when compared to other teams in the country.

A setback from Monaco performance in the French Cup because they were very favorites to win this match but in fact they failed to do so. Winning through the penalty shootout was indeed lucky, but in the normal time period, Monaco were not able to play better because they failed to complete many opportunities to score goals. FC Rouen managed to provide a surprise in this match and I'm sure many bettor failed to make a profit in their bets in this match because I'm sure many of them preferred Monaco as the winner.

So, in the semi-finals, we can see who has qualified and looking at the matches in the semi-finals, of course the most exciting match is the PSG match against Nice. Because these two teams are equally strong in Ligue 1 where PSG is the leader of the standing and Nice sits in second place in the standings. Lyon also performed well in the French Cup competition even though in the Ligue 1 Lyon performance was not that good and I am sure they will target to become champions because this is one of their hopes for winning the trophy this season.

Ligue 1 presents its own set of challenges and surprises despite the dominance of PSG.
