I think it's very okay to say that Marseille's performance against Montpellier yesterday was incredible but I find it as an exaggeration when you say they'll be champions of the French Ligue 1 is they continue to deliver such performance. Montpellier is the lowest ranked team in the French league this season as they've been able to pick just one win in all competitions since the start of the season so a convincing win against them I don't think is a big deal especially when they faced a Marseille side that's been impressive this season. The slow down Marseille did experienced recently was obviously a temporary one and now winning two games epically in a row is a good grounds to kick start the journey back to wining ways as we all do know, Marseille has got very firm squad which cannot be compared to that of Montpelier, even depth wise, Marseille is much ahead and was expected to win that game but the land slide victory was what really got many interested. I'm beginning to see Marseille turning out to be one of the big rivals in the Ligue 1.

Yesterday I watched Marseille play great ball. If they continue this football, they will be champions in the 1st League.

This year I watched Montpellier against Marseille for the first time. The team that was once a champion is now struggling with a bad squad. (They were relegated to the lower league after the championship, but I don't understand why they went so far back)

5 goals were scored in the match. The decision was made 11 to 4. Dzodic, who entered the game in the 55th minute in Montpellier, received a red card. I really don't understand why the referee gave a red card. He is not the last man, there is no hard intervention, but he gave a red card.

After this card, Marseille scored another goal. Marseille could have scored 7-8 goals if they wanted, but they preferred to turn the ball over instead of attacking effectively. He scored the 6th goal, but the goal was not considered valid because the position was offside.

It's a very embarrassing result for Montpellier. They only played defense the whole game. They attacked Marseille, but it didn't help much. They're staying in the relegation zone right now.

Montpellier's president sacked their coach right after they lost 5 goals to Marseille. It's a very good decision considering their gap to the safe zone is just getting bigger. They should take a risky decision by signing a new coach. I'm feeling curious about who's gonna be a new coach.

Matchday 8 brought good fortune for the twin Olympiques, the first was Lyon who were able to win against Le Havre when they played away and also recorded a clean sheet, and then followed by Marseille who also got a clean sheet and a big score. Olympique Marseille played that match with so much anger not minding that they even played at away. I initially though that Montpellier, who have scored in all their home matches this season, will be able to score at least one goal. but unfortunately, they failed to cancel Marseille 5 goals clean sheet.

This year I'm seeing some changes in Lyon and Monaco and if they are able to remain consistent in the way they are going, they might become the two strong team that will give PSG hard time whenever they meet.

I wasn't surprised with the statistics because I watched the game and saw how Marseille dominated the game from the start to finish. Mason Greenwood resurgence this season continues improve on each game and I hope he continues to be this impressive with his performances. Great victory for Marseille.

Marseille managed to take advantage of an easy match to secure full points, a 5-0 win over Montpellier certainly looks very promising. Basically, Montpellier is a team at the bottom of the standings, they have not been able to do much to get out of the relegation zone. The additional 3 points make Marseille stick closely to PSG and AS Monaco in the Champions League zone, they are only 3 points behind.
If Marseille is able to maintain its impressive performance, it is possible that De Zerbi squad will be directly involved in the fight for the Ligue 1 trophy this season, and that is indeed what many parties hope for. Mason Greenwood seems to be reborn, he is quickly able to adapt and give his influence in the team, I think Manchester United should consider recruiting him back.
De Zerbi has the ability to qualify his team for the Champions League next season, at least by looking at the performance they are showing at this time.

We have only two clubs that conceived the highest goal today on this French league which is Montpellier and Le havre and from statistics of Montpellier their last match was almost the same goal they conceive today because the difference was just a goal, however if you are ask to rate the effort of Der Zakarian being the Montpellier coach what would you rate him?, for me I would obviously rate him very low because the club is deprecating on every match understand his management, if relegation becomes their faith this season changing a couch will be the right thing for the club because their matches is like a club that came to this league to play friendly match because there is no any kind of ambition to win any match.

It is very encouraging to see this final result.

This is one of the games or the only game in Ligue 1 Montpellier have played this season and are unable to score a single goal. maybe next game they will try to maintain that record as they were unable to keep it in this game and i love it that Marseille had a very impressive win such that they gave no chance to get goals except for an attempt they later mange get before the end of the game. The red card even made it worse for them, obviously they were having a really bad day.

It was a nice game for Marseille because they were able to get a good win in this match, seeing how they competed I was quite sorry for Montpellier because they didn't get a goal back, even though they had several chances but couldn't score them into goals.

There are too many weaknesses in Montpellier that must be improved, especially their defense, of the many matches played, their defense is the worst, they are fresh food for other teams to get goals and even if they want better defenders, I doubt that they have a lot of funds to buy, they can only improve their defense with their players and get serious training.

Montpellier is a team that is currently in last place in Ligue 1. It is very difficult for them to get out of the relegation zone considering their very weak defense. Montpellier have won 4 points in 8 matches, but that will not have much effect because Angers and Le Harve are still stronger. Le Havre has the same points as Montpellier, but Le Havre is slightly stronger in defense so they concede fewer goals than Montpellier.

Until week 8, Ligue 1 looked quite tight. The competition for first place between Monaco and PSG is tight, I mean both teams have the same performance and points at the moment. PSG and Monaco both have 20 points currently in 8 matches, but Marseille who has a gap of 3 points behind should not be ignored. Marseille can threaten the top spot with its good performance, so there is no time to rejoice for PSG and Monaco at the top.
