That's a life changing for him, congrats to that man for winning.
Let's just say he is lucky and blessed at the same time,  but basing on the probability, only a few percentage of bettors have a chance to win, and therefore in overall, the lottery operators are still the winner.

This type of gambling is only good if you spend money that means nothing to you, like a very small amount.
He is just one of the millions who are hoping to win, and his time just finally arrive but I'm not inspired by this as I don't trust my luck alone in gambling.

I dont think that this man is lucky but i consider him blessed.
Amen!
A story like this that motivates me to keep press the roll button and spend it to buy lottery tickets on freebitco.in
However, be very careful with success stories since not all of those can be verified, and prone to the shilling/lie.

That is so nice. Congratulations, though I am sure he will not be able to read this.

Filipinos are not new to lotteries. In our country PCSO is one of the popular names when you say lottery. A lot of people stand in line and pay the numbers they want to bet on. The funny thing here is that they usually bet numbers with superstition. For example, they dreamt about their father or mother that died, they will put their mother or father's birthday there. Superstitious belief is not new to us, it is in our culture and even in lotteries, they apply things like that.

Most local lotteries are tax free but this Filipino citizen do won up the prize on other country then most likely it would be charge up some tax which is on 12% as far as I know in Philippines.
Yes, there's also a tax on his winnings. He can't totally get those prize without some tax, it's also quite huge for $7,000,000 million.
But for me, it's ok even there is 12% tax for that $7m, he still a winner. I want to know if there is still tax or he will get totally the prize? Since he won in Canada.

In every rule, there is an exception but we also should not compare his life to us. The universe wants to make him win because of some particular reasons. If you devote your money and time with gambling, you will end up with a life completely opposite to him. Hardwork and dedication is really the key.
I could say that it's his destiny to be a millionaire. Even if you are a dedicated and a hardworking person but luck is not on his side then he may end up just like anybody of us who still longing for the fortune that lottery brings. I think that he bought lottery tickets for so many years and have spent already a large amount of money before winning that one. Congrats to him and may he make good use of that money.

I just worried about his security now because he revealed his self everywhere in social media. We know there are too many greedy people out there and want easy money because he and his family now are too much care on this now. Well, however congrats to that man he is very lucky as well, in gods will he won that huge amount because he is only a janitor and give the chance to live with good wealth and health as well.

He said that he will stay on his job but less hours. I believe he knows what he needs to do even if he is holding that amount of money.

Well, there are stories about this and I was surprised too. Just imagine the impact of not having enough money to having a lot of money in an instant, that is so overwhelming. There are a lot of things you might do and want to do that you can't do in the past. Some stories said that most of the people who won in gambling in our place invested it in infrastructure but most of them are getting scammed too. Also, don't forget the people that might threaten him since everyone knows his face and maybe his job. And Filipinos are so kind, we are so kind and so hospitable. When someone had this kind of money, they will throw a celebration, people will come looking for him that needs money or help and people will also ask for money give away or "balato" since he won a lot of money. Also, CONGRATULATIONS! I hope you can use that money to build your future for the greater good.

This was on the news this week on our local television. A man named Vito Halasan was won a 7M canadian dollars in a draw. He is already on late 50's and is currently working as a janitor and buy lottery tickets for the hope to have a better life. I dont think that this man is lucky but i consider him blessed. They say that gambling isnt the answer to poverty but this man becomes an exception knowing he deserved to won and i know its really for him.

“I buy lottery tickets so I can dream. I dream of being able to take care of my kids and make their future better. Now we’ll be able to buy a nice house for my children and grandchildren,” -  Vito Halasan

There's a lot of great stories out there that are untold. I am surprised that he agreed to publish his name because if you are a lotto winner in the Philippines, first thing that they will tell you is "do not tell anyone" while this guy's name is all over the news complete his photo and story. Its a blessing yes, but sometimes its also a curse because of your family security.
I agree.I also expect that his real name won't be revealed for the sake of his family's security.Maybe it's his own choice.Gambling may realize our dreams to be possible but i think his story should not inspire us to keep on gambling because if we do,we will surely be opposite from him. What happened to him was just a blessing and not totally luck in gambling.

In gambling you can only become millionaire if you win in lottery.

But what is the chances? Definitely slim and this particular janitor who won is one lucky guy.

You cant assume to also hit the jackpot just because you just tried to buy a ticket. In thousands of people who gamble in lottery, only one (or lets say 2 or 3 if someone has the same combination as you) person who will become lucky. I think he is destined to be a millionaire so he was living his dream now.

He was lucky lol. Not blessed. And Gambling is NOT the answer to poverty. This guy just got lucky. Not everyone is lucky enough. Those who suffer from poverty, but keeps on gambling, they will lose everything they have. Lets just say, all those who are suffering from poverty entered a gambling lottery by buying large number of tickets. Only one of them will win the lottery. That means, just this one guy was able to go out of his poverty, while rest of them are now suffering more.

He really did make a headline here in the Philippines, if you convert it to pesos that's over 350 million, he can now retire and enjoy his life since he is now on his 50, he can plan a better life for his children and grandchildren I think he is a good guy, he will definitely going to take care of that winnings.

A wise man would make something out of that money which can help his children and grand children in the future permanently like engaging into business. $7M is a huge money. If he really cares about them, he should make the money multiply in a long term. Two possibilities would be stay in Canada of put a business in the Philippines where that would be a bigger value. Continuing as a janitor with that age is risky though.

Yep its a great but we understand this can happen with the one from millions so we cant just gamble to be the next one we can do it just for fun but make it target for the whole life and believe i will win one day sooner or later, no.

That kind of luck is one in a million.
The story is very inspiring but that luck is not for everybody.
I wonder how much he spent in the lotteries before he got the jackpot prize.
But you can't win if you don't put your bet, right?

That is so great. People had their luck and their lives might be changed by it. I just hope this man would be able to control his self since the problem with people that became rich so quickly can't control their way of spending money. I don't know why is that but most of the people that won like that is said to have a curse. Is that true in your countries?

He said that he will stay on his job but less hours. I believe he knows what he needs to do even if he is holding that amount of money.
