Am I the only one who finds it strange that in the “gambling” section such stories about gambling addiction, large losses and losses of money in casinos become commonplace, while there are practically no stories about winnings in casinos (I personally don’t remember such things)?

I read the story of a sales manager, a very successful person, but he has a very stressful job and the casino is a way for him to relax. A person who is addicted to gambling does not remember his family he does not fulfill his family responsibilities properly he always neglects his family he always becomes more addicted to his gambling. If a person with a gambling addiction doesn't have cash, he gambles until he makes a loan, at one point he becomes so in debt that he has no money left to repay his debt. There are also gambling addicts who once lived well. But due to this gambling addiction, he lost all his money and became exhausted. So this kind of gambling addiction is harmful to people so everyone should refrain from gambling addiction.

This story is really scary because a gambling person is not always good for the family, the story can really make people wrong. Because he should never have run away with his son and daughter and wife, only such addicts can be used in a mad way. But I hope you ask them to be patient of course this situation will be right, but the next future is very sad for the boys and girls because from now on they will turn away from education if they are chased by scarcity. So every parent should teach their sons properly, but completely it is a sign of addiction because only if one is addicted, he/she will face high losses in gambling.

It is indeed a sad story but you need to understand many people gamble, lose money, and they enjoy it because they get entertainment out of it. Instead of going to the movies, or smoking or doing drugs. They get pleasure by gambling because they find it fun like a video game.

The difference is that they set a limit and stick to it. Like your friend should of had a $100 limit and after he lost that , he should of walked away from the casino and went home. He is an addict and they need to stay away from gambling.

Most people in Vegas are not gambling addicts. They lose a little and go home.

That is a mistake if he used all of his salary to playing gambling, especially if he have family that waiting for him back to home. He already made a mistake and makes him and his wife involve in quearrels that can be bigger and changes into divorce if he doesn't solve it immediately.
Playing gambling is okay but if he had family, he must prioritize his family first and gives his salary to his wife and just asks for small money to playing gambling. If he can be honest to his wife, maybe his wife will gives some money to him to playing gambling so there will be no quarrels between them.
Your brother lose his money in gambling because he thinks that he can earn much money in a short time and when he lose some money, he can not accept it and just continue playing gambling. He hopes that he can wins in the next rounds but that will not always happens as he wants because gambling is not a place to make money.

There will always be those who take this path with the same motive, as the story will be different.
Gambling would not actually be that bad if someone who got into gambling was aware and knew what their real goals were.

Many people just get into gambling with the initial intention of making more profits, but instead waste their money without any profit.
Sadly, they are too addicted, so there will be a lot of problems that occur due to uncontrolled gambling.

Choosing to gamble means knowing the consequences, knowing what not to do and knowing about the limits that should not be violated.
There are many professional gambling players who are indeed focused on playing, or those who only play for entertainment.
Playing with full control and not breaking boundaries certainly won't make fatal mistakes, but greedy human vices will destroy everything.

The story is quite pathetic and sad, but it is very obvious that your elder brother is a chronic gambler and whose level of gambling addiction has grown beyond measures, and it takes only the Grace of God and constant sensitization before he can be free from such situation. Everything that has advantage so has some disadvantages, and that is why it has resulted him to domestic violence and he sincerely needs total abstinence before he will survive his addiction. i am also very sorry to tell you that your elder brother is part of those who have tarnished the image of gambling and have dented it to the point that people now see every gambler as worthless person. and if he can be able to finish his salary on gambling just for a day, it is very possible that he might grow to selling property just to satisfy his gambling life. lastly as a brother its left for you people to take appropriate measures to ensure that he reduces his level of addiction if not you people will wake up one day and find out that he has gambled with your family house and the case will close.

Could have been pressure to gamble, maybe they got him drunk and he wasn't in his right mind. Maybe he had tremendous debt that could have had serious consequences in his life. I mean the possibilities are endless without actually knowing for fact. That is surely unfortunate and definitely time for this man to find a different profession. I can't imagine coming home to your family after being gone all day and all night, especially on pay day just to tell them we can't get any foods or basic necessities because I was completely irresponsible and gambled it all away. That type of condition especially if it is publicly known is very shameful to oneself.

Though it is already old news when we talk about the bad impact of gambling addiction to anyone, and yet, many people are still going into this route. It may start as a simple side entertainment up until they go deep because they forgot what they are really after for in the first place.

At this point I think he is addicted because addiction can only be a reason for a full grown man to use all the salary to play gambling without thinking their are things to be done in the family with money. People like this can use any money that is meant for something that is very important to gamble or even borrow a huge sum of money to play gamble . If he hasn't realise that what he is doing is wrong their is nothing that can be done, it means he will keep up using is salary to gambling. This is not just a problem to him but also a serious problem to his entirely family because they will be affected with such a life.

Ignorance has put so many gamblers in this state thinking that income can be generated in gambling which they don't even bother of playing with all the money they have .

Your narrative of perception, perspective to gambling is absolutely wrong, for example, you don't condemn cars and call them a fetal mistake and useless just because someone you know had an accident with a car and maybe lost his life in the process.

Gambling is fun, I mean, it is good, it is entertaining, and on top of it all, it can be a good source of unimaginable wealth.
But like every other thing, using the same car as an example now, reckless driving, over speeding causes accidents, and sometimes, the accident can be fetal where life's will be lost, it is exactly the same thing with gambling, gambling excessively and recklessly will you into dangerous and life threatening losses, and not just this, it can also lead to addiction to, as the gambler may want to chase after what he has lost to see how to win it back, only to discover after some time that their brains have gotten used to gambling.

Gambling is not mad, but how you Gamble is what can either be good or bad.

This is just an example of so many things that will happen when we can't control our gambling addiction. It is sad to hear but an irresponsible gambler couldn't think and realize the welfare of other people (his family) and their future while still, they are in the stage of addiction.

The worst thing that and is already happened to some gamblers is killing themselves (suicide) and committing crimes.
This will simply illustrate to us how important is to deal with our gambling habit and not let our addiction take over.

Your brother is a gambling addicted. He is out of control and can't manage his own money properly anymore. The biggest reason behind his conduct is hard to be guessed by random people on an internet forum where nobody knows with details the backgrounds and history of your brother and your family. There can be genetical reasons behind it, or it can be just the influence of the environment where he is inserted which endorsed him to act the way he is doing, or even a mix of both factors.

The point is that he needs to change his behavior immediately in order to not bring further prejudice for his family, especially wife and children. He has to stay away from gambling and seek for treatment. Since he can't take care his own money anymore, it's suggested his wage is paid directly to his wife, so she can manage the funds of the family until your brother pull himself together once again. Otherwise, I fear he is going to be left by everyone and remain alone in life, what would be really sad... So, act while it's still in time!

Jeez! This is a very common problem here in our country where most of the common problems and causes of quarrels of every partner are gambling-money related.

At first, I really didn't admire men like this, they do other things first before their families, it's a red flag!

For OP, I believe your brother really needs help now. Maybe he needs someone to talk with and you are fit, give him advice and enlighten him on what to do. Maybe he has also some personal problem but then again gambling is not the solution.

I'm used to saying this that gambling  addiction is hard to determine  by individual  gamblers, a gambler can get addicted without knowing  and  when he starts to realise that he's addicted it would probably be hard to curb at that time... as he/she will only be after recovering  the massive loss that has been incurred which might even bring more loses.
Gambling  Responsibly is just the word that clears it all (I'm trying to avoid repetition), once you set your target both positive and the opposite  and this target were breached pausing for retry, better luck, morelluck is always an option
