Even if they can control themselves and gamble responsibly, the addiction will still exist. Addiction does not have to be compulsive, but when you return to gambling regardless of whether you lost or won yesterday, then you are addicted.
IMO. The gamblers who has good self-control, they aren't categorized as addicts. You must understand what addiction is, right? People are addicted when they gamble excessively. It means people have lack of control (
or no control) both in the time allocated for playing gambling and the amount of funds to use for gambling itself. But if the people can limit their funds and time for gambling, it means they aren't addiction. It indicates the people don't gamble excessively, they are aware about the limitation in gambling.
If you want to fight addiction, then you have to stop gambling and stay away from anything related to gambling.
Stop gambling is okay if it seems impossible to recover the addiction by changing our habits. But if it can be fixed by changing the bad habits and be more aware of the bad impacts. We can keep gambling but with some limitations (
time and funds). We also need to change our mind and our perspective about the gambling goal.
It doesn't matter if you are addicted as long as you can control yourself and your finances, plus gamble responsibly.
You're not addicted if you know how to control yourself. Addiction is the condition when you have no control, you gamble excessively.
