I'm still surprised to see this type of person lose all they have due to too much gaming, and they still use the money to gamble. This is another reason why some people commit suicide today just because of gambling, and it will still lead one to gambling addiction.

No need of putting up with such disturbance of checking your losses. I call it disturbance because it would do you no good than harm thinking of money you can't take back so there's no need. What should rather be done is to minimize the way we gambling when we observe we are having constant losses than we are winning.ans constant losses means constant money leaving our hands that's bad business.

Personally, I don't see the point in keeping a tally of the money I lose at the casino, as it's of no use. I already understand perfectly well that I lose more money than I win. But I do not want to give up gambling, because I am already in many ways disadvantaged, and after all, I have to have fun. In my understanding gambling is the same entertainment as, for example, drink beer with friends in a bar or go to the movies with the family, only to play gambling I can at home and alone, when I no one interferes.

Checking gambling stats isn't a healthy idea. All one need to do is to gamble responsibly by setting a time limit so that you don't gamble beyond your time limit no matter if you are losing or not. But if don't have self-control on your gambling activities,you will end up being an addict and you wouldn't mind using all your funds for gambling.

OP, I also like the idea of setting aside your gamble budget weekly and only gamble with the amount that you can afford to lose so that when they money has been exhausted,you stop gambling. These are the simple strategy that one needs to adopt to avoid addiction.

Stupidity is what can be use to describe gamblers that deliberately and constantly use all they have for gambling. Because you were told the odds to a game given to you by a gambling expert was a sure odds doesn't mean you put all your money on it, having a limit amount you spend on gambling should be a no compromised law to our gambling lifestyle by so doing we don't spend so much more than we receive from gambling.
Some persons if they had to calculate the whole amount they have spent on gambling in the first quarter of this year, they would marvel at what measure of business they would have been able to use such amount to start with.

I think this thread is more about self-control or controlling spending on gambling.
Actually it make a lot of sense to make this thread to remind other gambler to always control themselves and take full responsibility for their gambling not to waste too much money on gambling, but here the problem, someone who has entered gambling, it is always difficult to control emotions and after emotions that cannot be controlled, it is very difficult to control oneself and that's the only problem with all of that.
Even professional gambler who have data on expenses or income from their gambling sometimes find it difficult to control themselves when they are on a losing streak.
I agree that it is better to invest than to gamble more, but the problem here is that some people think gambling is just for fun and sometime life needs entertainment, not just saving or investing.
After all, the risk of spending too much like this, I am sure every gambler is aware of it, it's just that they ignore this problem

Anything that has risk should be taken with more care. Here in gambling industry, nothing is certain as we all know. Go all out and be prepared to have nothing at the end of the day. Be greedy and you'd lose everthing. Always expect the bad outcome 'coz you'd be losing more often. Yes, risk could be minimized a bit but it will always be there. Limiting oneself from loses is simply what winning is all about. No matter how huge your profit is, it would be gone in a minute or two if satisfaction won't meet you . It is not how much you have earned this day but rather how much have you lost eversince you gambled.

That's no longer part of our problem I guess. There's no need to force them to be responsible. That's their money and they have full responsibility of it. It is just tiring to see them cry and regret things once they reach the bottom, then blaming other people why such thing happened. Sometimes a lesson learned would be a bit expensive.

Unfortunately not all gamblers have a habit with money and will be able to keep record of what they use in gambling. No risk no reward has made many people who see gambling as a way to make money to use up heir last cash, forgetting to gamble with care. Gambling will teach every one who refuse to learn from the lesson of others, their own lesson. If any gambler who has heard about gambling with care choose to ignore and decide to keep gambling recklessly, they will have their own life lessons to learn.

Any bettor that gambles more than he invests is not a healthy gambler. Gambling should be seen as a fun and occasional source of income and not an as investment. If you need to stop gambling to start a business, the best choice will be to stop. The money you spend on gambling shouldn't affect your financial ability to invest or set up a business. We are advised to use our spare income for gambling and not a major part of it.

I do this because I always have a budgeting session whenever I have payday to properly manage my salary vs my expenses including gambling. I’m regularly playing in the casino before every week and then I decided to do it on monthly basis after making a consecutive loss that affects my finances that supposed to be allocated to my savings.

I decided to play gambling only on special occasions like promotions to have a better a life line and control my losses that seriously affect me before.

In my opinion, it is actually worse if a gambler who is addicted continues to keep track of his losses and chases them, because that encourages him to further gamble to recover all that money and also can translate to severe problems at a mental level, like depression, anxiety and feelings of loneliness.

If one is addicted to gambling, the best course of action is to forget about that money and seek professional help before it gets even worse. Having family who cares about them also helps a lot.

The money used for gambling must be adjusted and if someone is involved in gambling in a responsible manner then the money that will be used in gambling must be planned. Usually I gamble when I get more income from work and will make up a portion of how much money is used for gambling. But so far I have never been involved in gambling that spent too much money because when I had a losing streak I decided to stop.

It is difficult to examine how much money is spent on gambling, let alone examine the money of irresponsible gamblers, except to examine the amount of money spent on responsible gambling as we practice it. To avoid active gambling/addiction cases, you should always prioritize using a small budget that can be adjusted to your monthly or weekly income.

If we can consciously budget for gambling, we will also consciously stop when that budget is spent outside of planning for gambling. At least that's how I maximize my money in gambling and maybe there are some people who have other ways that are even better.

Stopping in the middle of the poker game because the money allocated for the month is reached is not going to make them win. The itch on their palm is going to get itchier by the day and the next day they will come back to allocate another percentage for poker game. If they stop every time they reach their budget for the month, the loss will be consolidated where as they could win back if they didn't stop.

A person just has to realize that gambling on casino games is for rich people. If he plays on budget, he best follows that rule to stop playing. Not minding the urge.

Gambler's by their very nature are often not particularly good with maths or finances, which is why they end up taking huge risks that they don't understand. This means that bankroll management is no existent and try to encourage it is futile. Gambling that does not involve calculated odds like poker is destined to fail in the long term and unless you take the effort to understand the systems in place, then no amount of wallet management will be able to offset that. If i can read you correctly, you're trying to advise on keeping a tract record of the amount you are spending on gambling each week to know the rate of how far you've gone with losses at the cause, for me i think doing this will have no benefits than to discourage someone and get the gambler thinking over the losses he had because there's no how you can do away with loses when gambling, should we keep reminding ourselves of the rate we've lost so far and keep getting disappointed in ourselves when we are expected to gamble with the money we think we can afford loosing.

That is why it's important to have our financial life organized with separated budgets for each area. There is the budget for daily expenses, there is the budget for emergencies, there is the budget for investment and there is the budget for entertainment (that is where the money you use for gambling belongs). By doing this you don't need to sacrifice one activity of your life for another, as all of them have their respective spots there.

All people know this and they are aware about the risk but most of the people ignore it because they are just blinded with the thoughts of they can earn a lot of money if they win. That's why sometimes they are been hit by harsh reality that gambling is not as friendly as them since it can take all their asset if they commit big mistake by becoming greedy on their bets. This is also why we need to listen to experience people since they already experience the worst and we need to avoid commiting same mistake just like what they did.
