You shouldn't "target" any profit too when gambling. You should gamble only for entertainment and the profits can be considered as a reward.
Here I have a point to make. For some poker players, I don't remember the exact statistic but they are around 10%, poker gives them money not takes it away. So you shouldn't lump them in with the rest of the casino games, which are inevitable money losers in the long run. With the general message of trying to control losses and accounts I agree but there are disciplines, like sports betting as well, where people make money, not lose it.

gamblers really have to think about the funds they can play at the casino. and just thought the funds would run out. so allocating part of our weekly or monthly salary at the casino must also be taken into account with income and needs.
those who gamble with very big money certainly have a greater income than what they allocate to bet. those who gamble until they are addicted may not have this control. some even spend their entire paycheck on gambling. and that is the wrong way to get pleasure from gambling games.
